  1. interesting.. so they did start producing diesels again? Do you know if they are finishing the build-shy diesels or just building completes for now?
  2. Has anyone heard anything about the 3.0 Duramax availability since the news of the halt in production in late August? Mine is on hold for parts. I'm seeing some 3.0 Duramax show up on the GMC inventory page (of course they are all sold) lately so it has me thinking that there are some being finished? My deal doesn't have great updates on this so hoping people have info to share?
  3. super helpful. I found a good local shop - they brought it up before I did but I least I didn't feel like was getting upsold something unnecessary!
  4. Interesting, thanks for that. I test drove a Sierra Denali and actually thought it rode great. But that's probably because I'm coming from a 2015 Jeep Wrangler and the test drive was only on pretty good roads. That does seem like a good solid option.
  5. Relatively new here. I'm expecting my new (and first) truck to come in the coming weeks (fingers crossed) - 1500 High Country which has ARC. What's been your experience installing a level or lift kit on a truck with ARC? I want to make sure I keep the right quality. Ideally looking for a 3 or 3.5" kit but I think I might have to go with 2". Thanks!
  6. Let us know what you find out. I'll do the same with my order and report back.
  7. hey I've been reading a lot on here and my apologies if there's already a thread on this. I thought I had secured a 2021 Denali 1500 Diesel but that looks like it might not be an option anymore. There's a local dealer that has a High Country Diesel coming in. I've seen stuff that says that the Denali is a more comfortable ride and other stuff that says they are the same ride. In terms of comfort - interior finishes, ride, cabin noise, would there by any differences between the two (other than cosmetic differences)? I figure since the High Country has the Adaptive Ride Control it might feel the same? I'll be using it mostly for highway driving and will only haul things occasionally. Thanks!
  8. quick update/question - I also asked GM Chat about an event code for the order the same day I spoke to the dealer and just heard back from customer service yesterday that the order doesn't have a TPW. But the dealer showed me his printout which had the TPW. Has this happened to anyone else? I've read on here that their tracking system isn't great so perhaps the dealer and customer service are looking at two different sets of info?
  9. yeah that's what I'm hoping. I texted the salesperson at the dealer and he got back to me almost right away.
  10. alright.. I got a TPW of 09/06 so looking promising. Hoping the recent plant shutdown won't affect things.
  11. thanks for the input so far.. definitely leaning towards #1 and I put a deposit on it. Was thinking about also putting a deposit on the other one as well to be safe but that doesn't quite feel right to tie up two trucks (though I'm sure it would sell real quick). I guess my main concern is if people on here have heard of recent bad stories of a truck sitting at Event Code 3000 without a TPW for several months.
  12. hey guys... curious about what you would do. I have two options and trying to figure out which one to go with.. #1) a Sierra Denali Diesel with basically everything I wanted, including color, on order from a dealer with an Event Code 3000 (no TPW), dealer things it will be here in 6-8 weeks. #2) a Sierra Denali Diesel also with basically everything I wanted but my least desired color. On order from a different deal, also an Event Code 3000 but with a TPW three weeks from now. I bought land which get possession of in early September so I really don't want to risk having to wait until something like late October or later for the truck. Based on what I've read on here, seems like once you hit Event Code 3000 there's limited risk of huge delays and it's pretty safe to assume the TPW will be within about 4 weeks and that from there it can be about 4 weeks until the truck gets delivered. If that's the case I'd go with option #1. Any thoughts we be appreciated.
