  1. I'm loving my truck more and more everyday. But... my gasser does this as well. Been planning to take my mechanic friend for a ride before taking it to the dealership, rather than letting the dealership do the diagnosis. Rather let my friend do the investigation and then let the dealership do the fixin! My truck started having a whine at startup after about 4000 mi. I dunno but kinda seems like a steering pump thing. My friends' gonna be figuring that one out too I guess. If I learn anything to help you all, will be sharing a post or two.
  2. 'thot I'd log my info here... Order placed with dealer Feb 25th, accepted by GM April 29th, built in July but missing parts, delivered to me early August. Chevy 2500 HD 4x4 Gas Crew Cab Short Box Custom Trim with LOTS of add-on features. Put 3200mi on within 3 weeks, Great Truck!
  3. I have a former auto insurance adjuster in the family. In the past he has mentioned that there can be issues with these things in the event of a collision. He said that most of the time there is no issue. But could talk to your insurance broker and even ask to speak with an adjuster to get clear boundaries on the impact to your policy.
  4. Saw that on mine too when first looked, at 600miles. I agree with CamGTP.
  5. I'm no expert but I believe you could go with the standard 2500 and switch out the rear spring pack to something softer and add airbags. In fact, I plan to do this myself!
  6. Thank you JR and MTU for your input. I appreciate it.
  7. Like nards444, I love this truck. It’s been incredible. Had my CCSB gasser almost 3 weeks now, put about 1800 miles on it. Switched to this truck from a 2020 diesel 3/4 ton Ram. Contrary to popular opinion, I did not like the interior on the Ram and Wife said “it feels cheap.” Haven’t yet towed with my new gasser, but even with some payload, it feels stronger than I had remembered it to be from the test drives a few months ago. Nards444 is right about passing at 60, it’s just not able to leap forward to pass, not like a diesel. But it’s so much stronger than the gas trucks of the past. Comparing the truck to the 2020 Diesel Ram, this truck is smoother on the highway and honestly much more pleasant to drive over long distances. On the other hand, the diesel Ram was unbelievably fun to drive empty or loaded on anything twisty or mountainy. Been driving with 62psi all around. And yes the truck floats at times but so much less than trucks of the past. The brakes do feel a little soft, but so much better than the Ram, so have no complaints there. Getting 14mpg at 80-85, get 16-17 at 70mph. Mixed driving, getting 14mpg. Installed Amp Research Steps for a variety of reasons. So far they are incredible in every way. Some negatives AC should be stronger on this truck. Yes nards444 is 100% right about the bed light. There is a clunk in the transmission at around 2nd gear, that I’d like to better understand….Maybe MTU Alum has a comment…? Looked at my truck parked next to a GMC two days ago. Both look great, but Yes the GMC looks more fancier.
  8. I'm a newbie here.. Great forum you all have going! I have a 2500 6.6 Gas on order, due for July. I occasionally drive work trucks, both gas and diesel, 3/4 and 1 ton. Everyone I know says get the 3500 to have the payload, but picked the 2500 over the 3500 for the ride. Inevitably, my wife and I will have to take long road trip with it empty and the 3500 would be simply too springy for her. The design philosphy for the L8T and the 6 speed. I must be exactly the type of person this combo was designed for. A proven 6 speed that have been methodically steadily improved for a long time. And a motor that based on a bullet-proof platform with an eye towards, approaching diesel performance ( at least I appreciate the effort ). This kind of stuff is awesome. Plan to tow 8-10K probably every other month with some moderate construction work on a regular basis. Have test driven everything, had an interesting experience with a 60K mi used 2020 3500 Diesel. The truck looked great, but man the transmission was tore up. Clunky on multiple gears. Had alot of miles on it, probably driven hard, but.... scared me. That solidified my decision on the gas.
