  1. Happening with home insurance too. More and more home buyers are finding it difficult or incredibly expensive to find coverage. No insurance, no mortgage. Not a good situation. I decided to forget what I pay for insurance on my precious gasser. But man it is painful.
  2. These rising insurance rates are gonna break something. Just not sustainable.
  3. Looks like you’re watching the right show!
  4. FWIW The whine was driving me nuts too and it started at about 5000 miles. Dipstick read right in the middle of range. So I sucked all the oil out which was VERY DARK (while rotating the wheel all the way left and right). Then I flushed it with new oil (siphoning and refilling). Since my mechanic friend said I should add a leak additive, I added: Bar’s Leaks - Power Steering Repair And finished with it filled to the top line of the dipstick. Happened to be taking a 300mi drive the next day. When I arrived the sound was much quieter. Sounds like it did from the factory.
  5. So many.. MAN… Not the right forum but a F100 or even an OBS.. But probably the king, to me, is a just a ‘34 Ford.
  6. No problem. Did a test. Took the right rear tire from 60.0 psi to 80.0 psi this morning. It took 3min 45sec. The unit didn’t get hot. Used a freshly charged M18 6Ah battery, didn’t even drop a bar in power (which surprised me). I keep 2, M18 6Ah batteries in my truck to cover this inflator and the big work light that I carry.
  7. Was considering the Viair 300P myself (or even a larger one). But a friend talked me out of it. He reminded me that it’s just a big mess to drag that long hose around in the snow and mud. Also it’s loud and it doesn’t automatically fill to a set pressure (like what they got at the nice truck stops). Instead I got something much simpler: Milwaukee M18 Inflator 2848-20 The fill to set point function is not perfect but with some use, you get a feel for it and can hit like within 1 psi of what your after. Plus I saw the guys at Discount Tire using this thing over the big industrial compressor they had. It’s just easy to use.
  8. I agree. At about 1 yr 30,000 miles still excited to drive it every day. As I write this, she’s sitting in the drive way, bed full at max payload, just ready to work.
  9. Mine’s cracked too, ‘bout to put in a Safelite claim too. Last time it took ‘em 3 weeks to get it done. But it’s okay.. Hey newdude, will these trucks stop you from shifting into R on the highway?
  10. If you dig back earlier this year you'll find a white hot thread on some of these topics.
  11. FWIW I use vanilla M1 oil and filters and nothing else. I'm not brave enough of a man to answer the rest of ur questions.
  12. A friend of mine had the magna ride go out on his 1/2 ton, at like 80K mi and it cost a fortune and weeks of down time.
  13. Just out of curiosity, as a F450 owner (love those trucks by the way), how does a 3500 ride in comparison?
  14. FWIW I change my oil with M1 filter and M1 oil every time. Seems like most always a deal is running at Advance Auto Parts on them too, just always have to ask.
  15. I currently have a gasser and love it. But for you it’s gotta be diesel. Just so happens that I drove a friends 2023 Diesel 3500 tonight and it reminded me of the difference. In a rural area, the real question is Single or DRW. Seriously.
  16. FWIW My beloved truck used to hit me with a harsh downshift out of the blue while driving in parking lots. But it faded away nicely after about 5-10K mi. Can still reproduce it in specific situations, but its mostly gone. Slightly off-topic: The truck used to also have a clunk coming intermittently from the rear leaf pack. This too has mostly faded away but not completely. I would have torqued the bolts up real good by now, except I'm gonna throw them away and install new leaf packs / air bags in two weeks. And while I'm off-topic: After about 20K mi, the computer has finally adapted well to driving style. While not towing, it now consistently holds a gear during long hill descents. It's unexpected. A big improvement.
  17. Congrats! These trucks are great!
  18. Mine's gettin around 14.5 mpg so far over her young 19,000mi life. Towin season's 'bout to start though... Smiles per miles.
  19. FWIW I chose 2500 mostly because I could in fact tell the difference in ride quality and didn’t need the small payload improvement. On the other hand I’m about to switch to softer leaf packs with airbags so maybe you shouldn’t listen to me…
  20. Only recently took a good look at the WT looks. To me it’s the best lookin trim
  21. I switched to my chevy from a 2021 Ram 3/4 ton diesel. These GM trucks are much higher quality overall.
  22. Love that red truck! Ordered mine from the factory. By the time it arrived I had forgotten just how big it was. Man! I guess it’s because the engineers wanted to fit a giant radiator up front and then the designers had to package it all up into some kind of design. I didn’t buy my pickup for her looks, but she ain’t too bad to look at. Actually had a car designer tell me it was a beautiful truck. Actually that’s what people say most often to me, “beautiful truck.” Shear size and stock ground clearance has been so useful in this truck. This truck don’t care if it’s snowing or raining. Doesn’t care if it’s in snow or dirt. It soaks up miles like a sponge. Feels like it’s going 60 when it’s more like 75. After a 10hr drive, I honestly arrive at my destination with less fatigue than any other vehicle I’ve ever owned. Have a friend that regularly overloads his gasser and then drives 100s of miles. It doesn’t care. Thrilled to have a modern, naturally aspirated gas truck without the complexity of start stop and cylinder deactivation stuff. Honestly don’t care about hp and ft-lb comparisons. This thing pulls strong and is dependable, rides better than a Ford, and isn’t a dodge. ‘nuf for me!
