    I hear ya. My wife REALLY wanted me to get the chrome. I told her the only way I would buy chrome letters was if they threw in a set of curb feelers and spinner hubcaps ? I went with black letters with silver outline and am very happy. Will post a pic in a sec. p.s. I ordered black letters first and they did not show up at all. The silver outline does the trick.

    wellllllllllllllllllllll - I liked the black with silver outline and ordered a set. I like them but my wife thinks they still don't show up good enough on my dark (Northstar) blue paint. She thinks the Chrome would look (i.e. show up ) better. Does anyone happen to have pics of chrome letters on a NS Blue, or black truck ?

    So, I assume that system won't work if my truck has the single tailpipe? (bumper is not notched out for twice pipes)

    Apologies for such a “waxer” topic. I want to put the raised plastic stick on letters on my 2020 Northsky Blue Silverado. I was wanting subtle look and ordered black. Unfortunately, they are just too close to the paint color, and don’t show up. Anyone got pics of dark colored trucks (black, Northsky Blue) with other color letters? Chrome, Silver?

    Ours is the 5.3L with the 6 speed auto. The tranny works very well. I was not even aware there was an issue with them.

    Ok, one last post before I delete the shortcut to this thread. Just finished our 3rd round trip form Conroe to Dallas. Drove 85 mph most of the way. Even saw 106 mph briefly (closed course, professional driver of course). We do have the sunroof as well. This 2018 Tahoe Premier is rock solid with absolutely not booming or shuddering. GM has fixed this problem. This is the finest vehicle we have ever owned. And no, I am not in the business. I am a a pipeline engineer/ manager.

    We had been planning to replace our 2008 Tahoe when I heard of this problem. I asked 3 different people who owned late model Tahoe’s and none of them had the booming / shuddering issue. We rolled the dice and bought a new 2018 Tahoe Premier and all I can say is that thing rides and drives like a dream. Just finished a round trip to Dallas. Extended speeds of 70 mph, 85 mph. This is our third Tahoe. No issues. We did get the 20in whelels.

    Funny thing is I've spoken to several people with these vehicles and all of them say they have no such issues and they love their Tahoes..........

    I assume when you refer to ear pressure/ booming/ buffeting, it is with all windows up and no open sun roof, correct?

    Thanks Zip!! Great info. I was at a place today and there was a 2016 Tahoe outside. I asked the owner about it and she said she LOVED it and had not had any of the issues mentioned here. When I left, I noticed it had the 18 inch wheels.

    That's great info Sierra. Thanks for typing it up. We were very excited about replacing our 2008 'Ho with a 2018. I'm seriously doubting that now. Too bad the Ford Expedition is so fuggly.

    Wow. What a long thread. I was not aware of this issue. We are looking at replacing our (flawless) 2008 Tahoe in about a year. It sounds like there are three issues. How does the 2018 model stack up?

    Received my Range plug in today. It says not to leave it plugged in vehicles that are not driven daily. Battery drain is the reason. I only drive my truck in the weekends. I keep my truck on a battery tender, so I figure it's not an issue. But still, I'm curious. Do any of you have any issues with this?

    Thanks. Hmmmm, haven't seen anything yet on head replacement, although I must admit, I've only read about 40% of this thread so far. I've seen references to, rings and pistons, driver side valve cover and oil pan. Did they say why they replaced the heads?

    Thanks again for the replies. For my 2008 Silverado- it's still under GMPP extended warranty. Do y'all know if they will install the oil pan and valve cover mods without the oil consumption test? Or would it have to fail the test first?

    Will the oil catch can do the same thing? Possibly even better?
