  1. We have a 2020 Acadia with about 50k miles on it. It started showing codes randomly. I read them with my reader and saw stuff like, Steering assist dimished , Low coolant temp. and a couple others. I saw similar problems in an Acadia forum. People were throwing parts at the problem with limited success. Anyway, to me, the common thread seemed like low voltage. I tested my battery and it showed normal range. I put a charger on the battery over night. The next day all of the codes went away. So I replaced the battery and the problem is solved. Low voltage in these new vehicles can do strange things. Moral of the story. Don't overlook the battery.
  2. Try warming it up. Park it in the sun or put it in a very warm garage? Just a thought.
  3. I have a 2021 Sierra, 3.0. w/47,195 miles. We were on vacationand and while launching our boat, the engine light came on and the fans started up wide open. I shut it off as soon as possible and let it cool off. I carry a reader with me and got the code P1098. I couldn't do anything about it so I cleared it. At the end of the week I drove it home 3 1/2 hours and no problems. Yesterday I drove it about 8 miles and it came on again. This time it said "Engine Power Reduced" I made an appointment at the dealer today and can't it get in until Friday. Drop it off and wait for a phone call.
  4. I had a qualified locksmith cut a key for my 21 GMC and program the remote. He charged me $100.00 They can come to your house. Make sure that the one that you call has the right equipment.
  5. We have a 20 Acadia. I know different vehicle, but same year. I'm not sure if you are talking about the auto headlight dimming? If you turn on the fog lamps it turns off the auto dim feature. Also if you are traveling slower than 40 mph the lights stay on dim. Not sure if this helps?
  6. Take it back to the dealer that replaced the switch. They must have removed the tailgate and reinstalled it wrong. There is a spring in the hinge, I believe
  7. If you take another battery and hook it to the truck with jumper cables, so the power is always there, then there shouldn't be any interuption in the system?? Then you can go ahead and change the battery.
  8. When I turn on the fan symbol to cool the seats. I don't get any kind of a fan noise. The seats just get cold. It takes a few minutes to cool them down but they get very cold. I have also noticed that the wireless phone charger in the center console gets very cold too. I think that the AC needs to be on for the seats to cool? The only thing that you might want to check out is the ambiant air senser. If its not pluged in then the computer isn't telling the heater to do what you are asking it for.
  9. I have a 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 with a 3.0 Duramax. Bought it with 6,000 miles and now have about 43,000 on it. We love it. It rides nice, gets great fuel mileage and has plenty of power to pull/haul whatever I need it for. It has 20" wheels with Bridgstone Dueller A/T tires. Great tires. Recently had recalls for transmition shift module programming. The dealer took care of it. 1/2 hr. each time. The one down side is, that I hate the mirrors. They are too small and DS has the convex in the top left corner. Hate that. PS mirror has " Objects appear closer " mirror. Hate that. Can,t back up a trailer and judge distance. I have looked into changing them with a OEM tow mirror but because I don't have the correct option in the BCM the dealer says that it can't be done.
  10. My new Harley did the exact same thing. I couldn't figure out why my dealer told me to track my mileage on a tank of gas. I was on my way to work one morning and my guage wen't from 3/8 to E like a rock. So after that I always reset my trip and didn't worry about the gauge. Just Enjoy The Ride!!
  11. Not 100K but very interesting
  12. Thanks for the link. I watched it all. Engine failure do to a lack of oil. Great vidio. I have a 2021 LM2 diesel. I am trying to learn as much as I can about it. Thanks again.
  13. I had a 2017 Colorado that developed shutter shift at 56,000 miles. I flushed the Trans. and replaced the fluid with a Mobil 1 Synthetic trans, fluid. They called it the blue fluid, but it was just because it had a blue lable on the box. Problem was gone the day that I picked it up and it never came back.
  14. I'm pretty sure that there is a setting for that in your trucks menue. Go into settings.
  15. Well, I just got an answer from one of my parts guys. He told me that because I don't have the proper options in my BCM, switching mirrors is not an option. He said that if I swap out the mirrors myself, the truck might not start. I knew that there is programming involved, and I thought that I could have that covered, but it sounds like it can't be done. #$@%&##@
  16. I am about to give up on switching out my mirrors too. I am haveing problems trying to find answers about the options. I have a few connections with parts guys at some big dealerships and I can't even get answers out of them. I've been on a few GM parts direct web sights too. They list the mirrors but not much of a discription. It's almost as if it's a secret. I have a guy that can do programming on my truck, he's the smartest mechanic that I know, and honest. I haven't talked with him yet. I hate to bother him because he is so busy. I have put after market mirrors on my last two Chevys, but there is always something on an after market part that doesn't quite work right. The memory didn't work om my 2009 silverado mirrors and everytime I shut off the truck they would reaim themselves at the ground. Then on my 2017 Colorado, I installed after market tow mirrors and lost the powerfold and the memory. So I bought this truck used and didn't have a choice on the morrors. I really, really don't like the mirrors on my truck, for the reasons that I listed at the beginning. I just wish GM would at least talk to people that use these trucks before the engineering this stuff so stupid. Walk around at a truck stop and where are the convex mirrors on every truck in the parking lot. ON the bottom!! There is a reason for that. Why do you screw with the PS mirror and make it so you can't use it ti back up! You know, I guess that I've had issues with pickup truck mirrors way back in the 80's I bought a Ford F250 in 1988. I went to a local glass shop and had them break the PS mirror and install new glass mirror without the Objects appear closer, in the glass. Sorry everyone for my rant.
  17. Interesting to know about the oil pump repair. I'll have to keep that on my raidar now. I wonder if adding a second DEF injector increases the amount of DEF used. Thanks for the Information.
  18. So what did you do with the mirrors that you took off? Are they for sale?
  19. I had the camera issue happen once when I went through a car wash and I was whiping off the dash while I was sitting still. I thought that something was wrong right away.It turned off after I restarted the truck in my garage. Then I looked in the owners manual. Turns out that you can turn it on and off manually by going into the settings. Try that. As far as the blinker goes, you probably have a light out on the right side. Turn your blinker on and walk around the truck.
  20. So, do you know if these have power fold, heated and cameras? Do I need to install a new wire harness with them? Do you have a part number for the harness? Thank you for your help, I really apreciat it.
  21. I did a little reading about the LM2 vs LZO The LZO looks to have a quite abit of improved air flow at the turbo. That would equate to more power and better mileage. So if you live near Lake Erie you must be used to heavy snow and cooler temps. Whenever we drive through Superior the temperature drops. Living by Lake Erie must be similar. We are going fishing on Lake Erie in September. Just for 1 afternoon on a charter boat. I am fortunate to have a wife that enjoys fishing too.
  22. Thanks for the information. My wife, myself, family and friends have been traveling to Ontario for over 25 yrs. We love fishing there. This year, plans have changed and we are staying in the US. We always went to Perault Falls to a camp that we liked. Well, it was sold and we don't care for the new owner or what he's doing to the camp. We still like going to the Dryden area in the fall but, That's on hold for now as well. Thanks again for all of your help.
  23. I found a set of Mirrors, Ineed to check to make sure that they will fit my truck before I buy them. DS 84994407 and PS 84994408. The discription says that they will fit the Sierra and/or the Silverado, I don't know if that's true. I will also need to get a wire harness for them from what I can tell. I haven't found that yet. Thanks for the picture. I can do a good compairison with it. So what do you think of the small mirrors verses the tow mirrors? Are the tow mirrors noisey? I am retired, 67 yrs. old. I figure that this should be my last truck. I think that I should be comfortable with it, so better mirrors. On the other hand I don't want to spend a bunch of money on them and then find out that I don't like them. I have 10 ft wide garage doors so they should fit through it no problem.
