  1. That is good to hear. I was actually looking specifically at OEWheels and the CV70B replicas, which are similar to the blacked out option for the '25 2500 Custom.
  2. My '24 Silverado 2500 Custom is mostly blacked out except for the wheels. Looking at options for blacking them out. Initially I thought about getting the Custom wheels powder coated. But quotes I have received have all been around $600-$700 at professional shops, and I don't really have a way to transport the wheels if they are off my truck. Another option is to find a set of OEM 20" black wheels, but it seems that everybody wants them and they command a very high price. I dislike the '24 silverado 20" black wheels, and the once that are an option on the '25 Silverado 2500 custom people are asking ~$4000. Then there are factory reproductions/replicas. These would be the same size and offset as the current wheels on the Custom (20x8.5, 47 offset). I could get a set for $900 and easily take them to a tire shop and have the sensors and tires swapped to them. Then sell the Custom wheels and maybe only be out ~$300 for the swap. Anybody have any experience towing with replicas or long-term use experience? I've read that cast aluminum replicas may not be as robust and long-lasting as forged wheels, but I don't know if that is outdated or what.
  3. I have not noticed any noise coming from the 10 speed. If you just want a known quantity, something simple and reliable, then just go with the 6 speed and enjoy life. The 10 speed will probably get you more performance out of the 6.6 gas (e.g., for towing heavy), but if you don't need it then just go with the ol' reliable.
  4. Yup, a low battery will throw all kinds of electrical codes. Happened to me as well.
  5. Correct that is the extent that they cover jacking in the owners manual is using the included jack. If you have the pdf I’ll take it. Appreciate it.
  6. Interesting that it is not in the owners manual
  7. I follow the owner's manual and jack from the jacking points called out on Page 365 (i.e., not the diff).
  8. I prop up the rear axle on both sides with jack stands, and then use the floor jack to prop up one front wheel at a time so that I can move the rear tire up and cross the front tire to the opposing back position. Then do the same on the other side. Very quick and easy.
  9. Your owners manual will tell you the correct procedure.
  10. I hear that. Can’t wait to put the GD 32BH behind the 2500 to see how the 6.6 gas pulls compared to the F350 7.3 I had. It’s going to be a great camping season.
  11. Looking at your first picture, your 5th wheel is quite a bit out of level. The nose looks noticeably higher than the tail. I would lower the hitch head (not sure if the curt allows for that) and/or raise the pin box so that it sits level. That may help smooth out the ride and you still should have sufficient clearance.
  12. Yeah that is what I was thinking. Unfortunately, I have the rear view camera mirror which also doesn't seem to have a variant with the garage door buttons. So it looks like I will be sticking with the opener collection on the visor.
  13. Does anyone know if GM made/makes a ceiling console for the pre-refresh trucks that have the homelink garage door opener buttons WITHOUT the rear sliding window switch? Looking to add it to my Custom truck. I've searched and searched and it seems you can't get the homelink buttons without the rear window slider. My truck doesn't have the rear window slider. I could add it and just deal with the inoperable switch being there, but would prefer a cleaner install if possible. And they are both part of the center section of the console so you can't swap out parts to make something that has the homelink buttons without the slider.
  14. Probably. The features of the higher trim seats (e.g., heated seats, power adjustments) won't work since the wiring going to your seat connectors won't be there, so as long as you are okay with having some non-functional buttons it should be fine. Alternatively, if you wanted a cleaner install, you could remove the seat covers and cushions, and swap them over to your seat frame. That is a lot more work though than just unbolting the old seats and bolting in the new ones.
  15. The short answer is no, you will need a new steering wheel. The long answer is that it is cost-prohibitive to try and reuse parts from your current steering wheel. You will at least need to swap out most of the parts from the Custom steering wheel to get it workable. Including replacing the whole harness inside the steering wheel, adding the button modules on the front and back of the steering wheel, and swapping out the back plastic to add the holes for the back buttons. You are better off just getting a new steering wheel from a cost and complexity standpoint. On top of that, you will need to swap out the instrument cluster (and I think clock spring), as well as add the LIN bus wiring to the clock spring harness. You can get a pre-made wiring harness from Harness Dr (https://harnessdr.com/product/2019-2024-silverado-sierra-steering-wheel-lin-bus-harness) Depending on whether you have a pre-2024 or a 2024+ truck, you will need the correct instrument cluster from WAMS: pre-2024 cluster: https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com/product/2019-2022-t1-ior-cluster-upgrade/ 2024+ cluster: https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com/product/t1-refresh-cluster-upgrade/ Finally, for 2024+ trucks, you will need to get it all programed/activated at a dealer, which will be an additional cost.
  16. Depends on if you actually use your tow hooks or not. You could get away with covers if not. Getting red tow hooks will look more authentic though, at a cost of course. The part number for the red hooks is 84513877 About $100 picked up from the dealer if you have one close that lets you order online.
  17. My ‘24 gasser custom has a payload of close to 3600 lbs and the door sticker says rated for ~2750 lbs gooseneck pin weight
  18. Wish my ‘24 custom had those wheels. Time to start keeping an eye on marketplace for takeoffs.
  19. Finished up my installation this past weekend. I went to a dealership and took some measurements from a similar truck with the puck system installed. Here are the measurements I used for the holes: Here's how the holes turned out: Pretty much spot on. The gooseneck hole is a little too big for the OEM cover. I used a 4 inch hole saw. Probably 3.75" would have been better. I also only cut circles for the 5th wheel pucks so far (those I cut 3.5 inch holes). I am going to try using the Ford style covers. I have an extra set from my F350. I like those a lot better than the GM covers. The GM covers seem like they would get dislodged pretty easily. Plus you have to cut notches into two sides of the holes for covers to lock into. Otherwise the will be too big and won't sit in the holes nicely.
  20. I don't think it's going to work. I just went through installing the OEM puck system on my truck this weekend, and there likely isn't enough space (front to back, not side to side) between the 5th wheel pucks and the center gooseneck puck for the rails to fit between them. The no-drill style under-bed brackets probably won't line up with the holes in the frame either, so you would probably need to drill into the frame to finagle something. What about swapping out the Andersen to one of their gooseneck mounted hitches? I know that the standard one is taller than the rail version, but they also make a lowered flatbed version that is lower profile.
  21. Of course they had to make the holes oval. Circular would have been too easy
  22. Are those bullet holes above the drive through window?
  23. What size holes need to be drilled in the bed for the puck covers? Are they the same size for the gooseneck puck and the 5th wheel picks? Or are those different?
  24. What about the one from Chevy? https://accessories.chevrolet.com/product/60l-62l-or-66l-polished-stainless-steel-single-outlet-exhaust-tip-84722772?bac=115169&d_adgroup=58700008343955111&d_adsrc=4568612&d_campaign=71700000103466033&d_keyword=PRODUCT_GROUP&d_site=GOOGLE&d_src=4635447&evar110=gsa&gad_source=1&gclick=EAIaIQobChMIhO659u6giQMVnTQIBR0DuSGjEAQYASABEgI4a_D_BwE&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhO659u6giQMVnTQIBR0DuSGjEAQYASABEgI4a_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&ppc=Shopping_GOOGLE_700000001302998_71700000103466033_58700008343955111_p75893196546
