So I am pretty sure I want to go with a 2.5 or 3 inch lift. I know suspension lift is better but I just do not have the time to do all that right now. What package is a reasonably high quality and priced well? I will be doing the shocks at the same time so a package including those would be great.
Also, here are a ton on used wheels and tires on FB Marketplace. How can I tell which ones fit my truck? Is there an offset and size limit I can specifically look for?
Finally, what specific bolt pattern comes standard on these trucks?
Thanks again for all the help!
yup - that was it. I was very happy to see the pressure between 40 and 60. Went straight to 40 right after start up so its a healthy engine!
Never saw it swing like that before. I always just saw them pegged at 80 or at 0
I just purchased this truck seeing that the oil pressure gauge was pegged at 80 when I looked at it. While driving home I was scared when I saw "low oil pressure" waring lights flashing. Then I noticed the gauge bouncing all over the place from hight to low.
My last trucks have always just pegged to 80 when the sending unit when bad. I know the true way to get a reading is to put on a mechanical reader. In the meantime, please tell me this is just the sending unit... please...?
Seriously, engine sounds and runs like it is new can't imagine it is going from 0-10-5-80 psi that fast unless there is a history of oil pumps going in the 4.8.
I look at the reviews on 1AAuto today. They look legit and the prices are in line with quality parts. I needed to order a new AC system, idler arm, and cab bushings too, so, I thought I would do it all in one step.
why not go back to stock and save the time, money and hassle of trying to figure out this mess? Seriously, it looks like you and your family want reliable transportation. Stock is reliable,
Hi all. My 2005 Silverado has the normal rusted inner and outer rockers and cab corners. Can someone recommend quality replacement panels? I will do the job correctly by cutting out the old and welding in the new.
I am happy to pay more for quality parts, but do not want to spend more on stuff that is supposed to be good and is not. These days it is hard to know what you're getting and I am not familiar with this area as I am just learning body work work.
Help is appreciated! TIA.
