  1. I was curious if there are any members here in the Houston area that have gotten a local shop to do the AFM/DOD delete using the TSP kit. Looking to have that performed on the 2018 Sierra 1500 as I plan to keep it a long time, and want to get rid of the AFM lifters and DOD cam for better reliability. AFM has been turned off since driving it off the dealership lot, but would like to get these parts replaced. Thanks in advance.
  2. They were able to get the 4" BDS kit for stamped steel and it didn't require spacers on the front. Will need to get spacers on the rear so the front and rear tracks are in line. Rides good with Fox struts and shocks as well. Toyo Open Country ATII in LT295/60/20 fit perfectly to take up some of the wheel well gap. Now trying to find out proper psi for tires since the mfg label on door says 35 on 275/55/20. Maybe 40 psi is appropriate?
  3. And you're not running spacers with the OEM wheels and 35" tires? Some shops here in the Houston area are saying it's a 99% chance there will be rubbing without spacers, or buy an aftermarket wheel in 20x9 with +20 offset for the wheels to be a little more tucked, or +1 for them to extend approximately and 1' or 1.5" outside the fenders. Seems I'm going to have to run 1.5" spacers in front due to the knuckle lift and OEM wheels, and 2" in the rear to get the front and rear tires to line up in the same track.
  4. Late to the lifting party on the forum, but finally decided to install a lift of moderate height and looking seriously at the BDS 4" lift for the 2018 Sierra 1500 SLT 4WD crew cab. Stamped Steel LCAs, and BDS says I can run this lift with the factory wheels which are 20x9 with 6.06" backspace. Factory 20x9.0 Wheel Offset = +27 mm - Back Space = 6.06" Inches Local shop says I have to run spacers or buy new wheels in 20X9 with +1 offset if I run LT295/60/20, 33.9" tire. Has anyone run the BDS with factory wheels, no spacers and slightly larger tires? I'm currently running the Bilstein 5100 front lift struts and rear shocks and LT275/60/20 tires, never rubbed on any turns. Seems like I wouldn't have to trim using this info from the BDS site. Recommended Tires & Wheels (Trimming may be required) 33 x 12.5 with 17 x 9 and 5 in. Backspace 33 x 12.5 with 18 x 9 and 5 in. Backspace 35 x 12.5 with 20 x 9 and 5.75 in. Backspace
  5. Did you use spacers up front as well, or just on the rear axle?
  6. I'm curious on the height of the truck from ground to the top of the satellite radio antenna. Looking to finally do something like this on my 2018.
  7. I installed the Bilstein 5100 leveling struts in the front and it sits at 39.75" front, and 40" rear from the ground to the bottom of the fender. I kept the stock GMC wheels and installed BFG All Terrain T/A KO2 in LT275/60/20 (33"0 all the way around. No rubbing and not using any spacers. Ride is much more controlled that the Ranchos that came from the factory. I only have 15K on the truck today, bought it in Feb 2019 off the dealer lot as one of the few remaining of the 2018 models as I didn't want the push button start and other features of the 2019.
  8. I've searched this forum so I apologize if I missed a response to this particular issue. I just cranked up the truck today, my 2018 Sierra Z71 crew cab with the 5.3V8, purchased new in Feb 2019 from a dealership in North Houston, and the vehicle now has 13,627 miles. I don't drive it much and use a more economical vehicle for commuting, I bought the truck because I wanted it to be the last one I bought before retiring in 4-5 years and didn't want the push button start vehicles. I hope to keep this vehicle for a long time. So when I started up the truck, the 4WD Service message popped up. used my Auto Cal device to check for DTCs, and nothing shows up. I did change the drive from 2WD, to auto, then from auto to 4 HI, then from 4 HI to 4 Lo and all seemed to work fine and I can hear the gears changing in the transfer case. It shouldn't be the terminals on the frame as this truck doesn't see the mud you would expect from a vehicle like this, but maybe something has come loose after only 13K miles but I haven't check it yet. Any thoughts on what could be the issue before I take it to a dealer for inspection? Also, I read where the transfer case is under powertrain warranty so I was curious if any other GM truck owners had this problem outside of the 3/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty but before 5/60,000 mile powertrain warranty had expired and how the dealership treated this issue for them.
  9. I apologize if this topic has been started, but I couldn't find anything when searching for Console Safe in the topics. Lock'er Down has this console safe that allows users to keep the USB port but you must permanently remove the clip in deep pocket tray, and temporarily remove the file folder brackets on the side in order to install the safe. Has anyone purchased one of these safes? For the 2018 Sierra, do the file folder brackets in the console just snap in or are they held in with screws? I couldn't see any screws last night when I checked, and they seemed rather tight when I pulled on them. I haven't found any specific videos on the 2018 Sierra console, only the 2014-2016 where these brackets just snap in and out. Thanks for the help.
  10. I run Amsoil Signature Series in every vehicle I own, and my two kid's vehicles. Nick set me up as a preferred customer and now I just order from the web and it's delivered to me from Arlington, Tx in a couple of days. Being a preferred member, you can get a case of 0W20 for $142, that's $11.82/quart before shipping and sales/excise taxes.
  11. I had the Borla ATAK 140537 installed this past weekend. Best exhaust for this truck. I previously had the S Type muffler made for GMPP but now only made by Borla with their stamping, it was more muffled than what I remember from the 2011 Silverado I had previously installed it on the OEM exhaust system.
  12. I used Blackbear to turn off AFM completely, to change the shifting and modify speedometer due to change in tire height.
  13. So the hanger will fit in between those two metal parts of the hitch? Every time I see an install on you tube, it’s for a truck without an OEM hitch from the factory.
  14. Were there any issues installing the exhaust hanger on the drivers side with the ATAK system? Seems like the class III hitch might interfere. This pic is from my 2018 Sierra.
  15. Bilstein will tell you not to run spacers with the 5100 adjustable struts or it will void the warranty.
  16. Skid plates have been in attic, wife says they have to go. Came off my 2011 Silverado when installing lift.
  17. Selling level kit from Rugged Off Road. Installed on new 2018 Sierra in Feb 2019. Didn't like Rancho shocks so opted for Bilstein 5100 adjustable struts which lifts front end. On truck for 3 months, now they've just been sitting around the garage so wife says they have to go. $25 + shipping if interested. I'm north of Houston. 2007-2018 Chevy Silverado / GMC Sierra 1500 6-LUG 2.0" Leveling Kit | ruggedoffroad
  18. Bilstein will tell you that the 5100 adjustable front struts are not meant to be used with a spacer, it will void their warranty and reduce the life of the shock. I have run bottom strut spacers and currently have the 5100 adjustable struts on the top setting with roughly 1.85" of front lift.
  19. I have this setup but I left the front shocks at stock setting and used a Rugged Off-road spacer. This is on a 2018 Sierra Crew Cab. No rubbing with the 275/60/20 BFG tires.
  20. 0-2" 33-238319
  21. Get a 2 inch block to replace the stock 1" block and a set of Bilstein 5100 part number 33-238319 for trucks with a rear lift of 0-2". https://www.shockwarehouse.com/index.cfm?mode=results&selected_model=3820&selected_year=2018
  22. No shame in replacing the Ranchos. I did the same thing as Langston1726 except I went with the 5100 struts in front to replace the stock Ranchos and already had a Rugged Off Road bottom strut spacer in place. Ride is great. Much better than with the Ranchos.
