  1. Need some Dyno expertise. I am used to manuals and this is my first time dynoing an automatic. Because of the 95 mph limiter on the truck (due to the weak drive shaft and probably the tire speed rating), the dyno tech said that the stock truck won't hold 4th so he is forced to do a 1st through 3rd pull. He will then do the same thing after my modding and tuning so I can see how much more power is made (this was a baseline tune). Because of this, the dyno was graphed vs MPH instead of RPMs and I am not sure how to calculate my actual HP because of the gearing (I believe for the 6L80 the gearing is as follows: First: 4.03. Second: 2.36. Third: 1.53. Fourth: 1.15. with 4th being the closest to a 1:1?). Is there an accurate way to pull out the actual power numbers from the MPH graph since it is graphed vs MPH instead of RPM (65 to 95) while accounting for the transmission gearing and rear? The Dyno Graph is attached. Thanks for the help!
  2. Hey Forum - Do any of yall have results from running your L83 on a dyno? I plan on doing a Black Bear tune soon and was going to do before/after dyno results. Curious if anyone has results to post here that I can compare to. My truck is a 2014 LTZ Z71 with the 5.3L and 3.73 gears (9.5in rear end) from the Max Trailer Tow package. I have a K&N CAI and a custom dual exhaust where the muffler and resonator were deleted. FYI: I was reading this thread earlier. My truck is currently governed at the stock limit of 100mph. So, I assume it would still be safe to take on the dyno. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/198544-dyno-tune-driveshaft-cannot-handle-115/?page=1
  3. The Start of the build: I picked up a STOCK 2006 2500HD single cab 8ft bed for work/new project. I bought the truck for work and hauling toys around. After working my magic and shopping around i got it for 9k minus uncle sam getting his cut... I think it was a great deal compared to what i have seen around on craigs, ebay, dealers you know the routine, this thing was mint. Had 100,000 miles on the dot, but zero rust anywhere, not a rip, a tear, new tires, no lights, brakes were new, had a upgraded kenwood headunit so i slapped a 10" truck sub, and a 1600W amp and 4" door speakers i had lying around from my last truck, I MEAN THIS TRUCK WAS CLEAN!!! Now i hope this helps people with potentially finding a good suite for their truck or build because i have done a lot of builds from tuners, to imports, to trucks but this was my first LS build and im still waiting for the remainder of the parts. Once everything dropships i will be installing and posting the DYNO numbers. My tuner is a pro with LS motors and lets just say this thing is gonna be a NASTY auto work truck sleeper ALL NA haha. PARTS: LS3 Precision Race CNC Ported Heads Upgraded GM Valves .660 PRC/PAC dual spring kit with titanium retainers all milled to 229/236 Cam Texas Speed 229/236, .629/.615, 111LSA, Three bolt core Cam 7.40 Hardened Chromoly Pushrods LS6 Race billet single roller timing set, Z06 chain, 3 keyway sprocket, and 3 bolt cam Forged Wysco Pistons LS6 Ported oil pump ALL NEW SEALS AND GASKETS obviously YANK Pro 3200 Stall converter for 4L80E Custom Performance 1 3/4" Long tube headers 3" Performance Y pipe K&N Cold Air Upgraded Trans cooler, and 3.73 gears. Then Custom tune and Dyno Anyways, I will have all my parts i need to finish by 2/10.2016 she will be on the dyno 2 days after i get all the shit in. let me know what you guys think of the project and stay tuned, this "work" truck will knock your socks off. Cant upload pictures too big, pics are of the truck after Lift was done, more pics/Video of truck after work is done.

  6. I have a 6.0l truck with a bigger cam, stiffer springs, 3 angle valve job, heads milled, long tube headers, cold air intake, throttle body spacer, and cat deletes has magnaflow muffler and Gibson pipes 4.5in tip Who to have tune the truck? I currently have a diablo tuner but want a custom one. THINGS I WANT OUT OF TUNE * drive by wire system deactivated (no more holding my rpm when trying to do burnouts or matting it right off the line) * torque management turned off Rear 02s turned off so I don't have to worry abt a light coming on. * all my mods working together * speedo changed for 35in tires Let me know if you know a tuner who can do that. I want everything with a * especially the drive by wire turned off!? I have cash in hand. I want this truck to stomp my friend with a 5.3 on 33s with a cold air and a tune. Thanks.
