Don t argue and get annoyed with a dealer that won t or can t help you. There are several # s, one of them is 1-800-222-1020. I ve never had the dealer be so nice as after I called GM and told them I was unhappy with the product. I didn t bad mouth the dealer to GM , just gave them the facts on warrenty work that the dealer didn t seem too excited about doing. (This was my painted molding post from Jan/08). GM gave me a case # and called me twice a week until I was happy.1 point

Loving our new 2014 Crew Cab!!! Kinda bitter sweet when I had to say goodbye to our 2008 Crew Cab. A lot of good memories were made with that truck. Heck, my first deer was field dressed in the bed. Good times. Pro Comp 6" Lift w/ 35's.1 point

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm just curious since our hoods are aluminum is the seal is gonna push the hood up.. Thought? Tapatalk via Moto X1 point

Well add me to the list of people who are frustrated with this rediculous problem. I have brought my truck in 4 times now, I have the same GY's that it came with and enough lead weight to band ducks for the next 1,000 years. I was told yesterday(after they had it for a week) that they are replacing the driveshaft. Somehow I am not convinced this will work but oh well. At least they have offered to by it back already. I will miss her. R.I.P.1 point

A 4-speed manual! Nice! Well, keep taking good care of that beast, it is one fine truck. My dad used to have a 77 F-100 with the I6 and the 3-speed manual. Unfortunately the rust killed that truck. But it sure was a beauty! He also used to have an 84 with the I6 and a 4-speed manual too:1 point

The truck originally had a straight 6 with a 4 speed, I replaced that with a mild built 351 Windsor and added a new clutch and kept the 4 speed. It’s all original body; I bought the truck from the original owner’s grandson after his grandfather passed away. It amazing how clean it is considering it has spent its entire life in Minnesota.. and yea I don’t drive it too much and when I do the weather conditions have to be perfect! Actually I use it mostly for pulling my boat to the lake.1 point

Man that is a beauty! What engine and trans does it have? How many miles? Looks really clean for up north! I'm guessing that's an only summer and nice weather truck. Keep it running forever! I love old trucks!1 point

Just picked up my truck, they did the rear window recall and held onto it for a few days when i told them the fire recall screwed up my mileage a few weeks back. They couldnt find anything wrong and said the truck is running normal. As a precaution they told me they completely reflashed the whole truck, re-did every flash (3 in total) since the truck was built (throttle body, transmission, and then fire recall flashes) and said they all went in perfectly (fire recall flash was weird they said because their internet went down in the middle of the flash?). But overall he said the truck is running "happy" now (whatever the hell that means). The technician said it will run weird for a bit though because it needs to relearn my driving habits and boy was he not kidding. The 30 mile highway trip home was funky, shifts were wacky and engine was all over the place for the first half and then evened out, I will note it was in V4 A LOT and the drone was really noticeable compared to before even with my stock exhaust. Hopefully when everything gets back to learning my grandpa habits it will be near the 16-18 mpg i was originally receiving. I will update you guys after a few tanks of gas.1 point

Thanks for the reply strike 1st. I hear you. GM had better have the '14s fixed as to eating oil. My '09 is at 60,000 miles and will be out of wty in 3 months. Using 1 1/2 -2 qts per 5,000 mile oil change. So, wty goes away and oil consumption jumps to the GM oh we would fix that level of burn but sorry Charlie out of wty. . Heck my '90 GMC sub only burns 1/2 qt on a 4,000 mile oil change and it has 356,000 miles on an original 350 ci engine. Most of that is valve stem seals. I was looking at Blue oval but now they have the aluminum thing going. Having worked in metallurgy, I am going to let that work out before going there. Well the 2015 Stang looks good and I hear you can see out of it, unlike the Camaro. So maybe keep the 09 oil well and get a stang for kicks. So hope the '14 works and like you say surely (don't call me Shirley) GM has the oil thing fixed now. If not, I would return it like the old lady returns tires on the discount commercial.1 point

I have a 2007 Yukon XL with 5.3. Low oil light came on for the first time between oil changes at around 85,000. Tech determined that filter was loose and leaking which is was so no real concern at that point, oil was changed. Low oil light came on again around 88,000 miles. No loose filter this time. Added a quart to get to the next oil change at 89,000 miles. Watched the oil consumption closely and it is using about a quart per thousand miles. After researching the oil consumption issue and GM's effort (lack of) to correct I ordered a Ford F-150 EcoBoost crewcab pickup at a Ford/GMC dealer. It is still under powertrain warranty so GM can fix it if they want but I am not going to mess with it any longer. I would not consider another GM product after they paid themselves the big bonuses while still owing the taxpayer for their bailout. Sorry for the politics but it affected my buying decision.1 point

I'd buy a 5.3 from a recent wreck, or even a new crate motor... and disable AFM, since it concerns you.1 point

Ya know what's odd is even though my dipstick is nearly dry and I have valves ticking from lack of lubrication.. I've never once seen this "low oil light" that I've heard mentioned. I know on my camaro there's a sensor in the oil pan, I'm assuming on the truck it'd be the same kind of thing? a sensor in the lower end of the pan? I wonder why I'm having valve noise yet still having enough for this sensor to read that it's not low on oil?1 point
