  1. Fred was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young pullets, and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells. Fred's favourite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. To Fred's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. Fred was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the City Show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention. Vote carefully in the next election, you can't always hear the bells.

  2. Modifications are required. 2020-2023 the wheel well sheet metal does not have all of the fastener openings stamped for liners that the 2024-2026 dually wells have. The liners are the right shape and everything, and the wheel well sheet metal is the same shape, its just the older trucks don't have all of the mounting points. Here's a link to a Facebook post about doing this - https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Nqow8VNKE/

  3. I have had the same suspicion that some of these single use bolt installations are not actually torque to yield. In this case, the size involved and the initial torque, plus the additional rotation angle, don’t seem to be enough to be causing yield. However I have not done the actual calculations. One reason to use torque plus angle when not intending TTY is to reduce variation in the clamping force due to thread or head friction.

  4. That a/c has got a problem. It should be able to put out at least mid 40`s temp on a day like that. Vent temp, that is.

  5. I call B.S. when I first moved to Texas my first house would only cool to 80 with the Texas heat. The AC tech said it was normal at 100 degrees outside. I remodeled the house put in a new AC. I could hang meat. My cars may need recirculating to start. Once moving it switches to regular AC and I could hang meat. Living in Texas no one would put up with only 20 degrees difference.

  6. AC in home or auto only cool down 15-25 degrees from outside temp, but what will help is to put the ac in recirc mode this will recirc the Inside cabin air rather then trying to cool down the outside hot air, I always have mine in recirc mode.

  7. I bought it today and brought it home. They still owe me the bed liner, remote start, and they also agreed to get me the flat black bumpers to replace the optional chromes ones. While some folks may think I'm crazy, I think they'll look a lot better with all the other black stuff. Blacked out grill, mirrors, running boards, dark essentials Chevy tailgate lettering along with the black Silverado and Turbomax emblems. I do want to replace the dark essentials front grill bowtie with the base level gold one. The 2.7 4 seems to run well and push a 1500 along just fine :).

  8. I was a little surprised this morning when a third local dealer, one I've never really done any business with, showed some interest and follow through to the point that I've ordered my build for a new 2026, std cab/std bed .
