  1. You can replace the factory drain bolt with a Goldplug with crush washers. I have one on my 2021 Yukon 5.3 and my 2024 Silverado 2500 Duramax. Never have any problems with leaks. I replace the crush washer with each oil change. It should be the AP04 plug: https://amzn.to/3ORU6ng Crush washers are SW-01: https://amzn.to/4dcqAAw
  2. Serviced my 2024 over the weekend and I hit the grease zerks with a couple pumps each. I try to do them every 10,000-15,000 miles. usually every other oil change. Made a quick video pointing them out for anyone interested. Hope it helps.
  3. I installed the Boost Auto Cab lights on my 2024 Silverado 2500. I also used the OEM cab light harness to plug right into the open harness in the driver a-pillar. Everything was plug-n-play, save for drilling the roof. The lights have been installed for around 6 months. My truck sits outside exclusively, and I've taken it thru the car wash several times. No leaks. Here is my install video for anyone interested.
  4. Expect the same or better ride. I don't notice much difference in ride at the 25% setting. I do notice the increase traction and stability tho. Loaded and unloaded. The Duramax would spin my BFG's if I goosed it before the RAS install, now it hooks up noticeably better.
  5. I had the M2's installed on my 2022 1500 and it looked about the same, just the way the cab curves. I have a set of M2's coming from Boost Auto for my 2500. I'll see how they look on there.
  6. Yea, that's mostly why I went with the 25% capacity. It did raise my rear about 1" but it's not too noticeable. But the truck looks a lot better, and more importantly, performs better when loaded down with my 30' Gatormade gooseneck. That trailer is 7,000 lbs empty.
  7. So I recently installed a set of the Heavy Duty RoadActive Suspension Helper Springs on my 2024 2500HD. My truck is a standard suspension, not the max tow. I have a 30' Gatormade gooseneck trailer that I use for work, and the truck handled it just fine, but it squatted in the rear a good amount. After installing the RAS kit, the squat reduced, and it also became much more stable when towing the gooseneck, loaded and unloaded. The helper spring helps 3 fold. Stability control, Sway control, traction control. The tension on the coil spring is adjustable using some spacers they include. I have it set at the lowest setting, 25% capacity increase. I will probably bump it up to 50% in the next few weeks to see how I like that. I did a full installation video and review on my YT channel. So check it out if you want. But this kit is a great alternative to airbags, less expensive and easier to install.
  8. I think it would be OK. Boost Auto is based out of the Chicago Suburbs, plenty of winter weather there. They do pretty rigorous testing and engineering on their products.
  9. So getting older, hopping up in the bed of my 2024 is a little harder on my knees. While the bumper steps help tremendously in that aspect, I still thought I needed something else. Cue, Boost Auto and their retractable bumper step kit. Man, it makes it so much easier to get up into the bed now. Knee saver for sure. Its a nice solid unit that retracts nicely up to the bumper, and doesn't look too out of place. When lowered it gives you a foothold about halfway down between the OEM bumper step and the ground. The step pad is customizable a bit for your liking, with different pad designs and colors. Check out my full install video below.
  10. I put RokBlokz mud flaps on my 2024. I had them on a previous truck and liked them. They bolt up using factory fender liner locations. I omitted their "mud flap delete" part that was included in the kit, because its was crappy 3Dprinted plastic that broke immediately while installing. But the flaps themselves are sturdy and will last for a long while. I just kept my OEM mud flaps in place and drilled some holes and used some spare hardware to secure the RokBlokz flaps to them. Check out my install video below.
  11. Boost Auto has new door handles that have light up LED's and also you can add the buttons to the rear doors.
  12. Dropping this video here for future viewers of this thread, save yourself the trouble at the dealership or auto mechanic. Do it yourself, it can be done with basic hand tools.
  13. The stuff on AllData is downloadable...buy one month and hoard all the info. Then cancel...
  14. I think I paid $130 for a 3 year subscription. Comes out to like $43.33 a year. It's saved me thousands of dollars in repair costs, by giving me the knowledge and procedures to do it all myself. Worth it IMHO. If you're interested in pinching pennies, they do run promotions from time to time I get the emails for 15% off or 20% off. So maybe sign up for their emails so you can be alerted when it goes on sale. Right now they are running a 15% off promotion... coupon code: HOLIDAY15 https://www.alldata.com/diy-us/en
  15. I use AllDataDIY.com for all my repair manuals. Been using it for years. Its a subscription service, but very reasonably priced. I have a manual for my 2024 Silverado 2500HD duramax, and my 2021 GMC Yukon.
  16. RC is short for Rough Country. And I was mistaken, I actually put the Husky ones on my 2500. Here is a link: https://amzn.to/44qGp2Z They;re 10% off right now. Good price, I paid around $130. --As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Here is a video I made when I installed them on my previous 1500. The install on the 2500 is pretty similar.
  17. I had Husky's on my 2022 1500 truck, and now again on my 2024 2500 truck. No issues. Worth it.
  18. So mine had no wiring whatsoever behind that blank. I found a local RV shop that is going to install my B&W hitch and they do all the wiring too. They just did a 2025 2500HD this morning so they are very familiar with the process. Having it done tomorrow. Easier than me trying to diagnose and troubleshoot the wiring. And I don't have the time or help to install the hitch myself right now.
  19. I'm not sure what harness is currently equipped on my truck. I has the factory tow controller and tow package with the 4 pin and 7 pin hookups on the bumper. But nothing in the bed. So you're saying in the little box in the bed where the wiring goes, there was already a wire there to hook up to?
  20. When I search for these two part numbers (below), it comes up as a 12v plug receptacle and retainer. Like the one inside the cab for a cigarette lighter. 84166962 retainer, and 25774623 receptacle.
  21. @AndrewF I am in the same boat as you were when you made this post. I want to add the wiring provisions in the bed, for a future gooseneck hookup. Just so I understand: You purchased GM Part 86520227(wire harness) and hooked it into GM Part 84056018 (receptacle). And then used Curt 56229 harness to tie it into the factory wiring under the bed? Sound about right? Have any photos of the completed wiring setup? Thanks in advance.
  22. Yea, they're boost auto mirror lights and I also have Boost Auto mirror glass. I don't think mine were the smoked ones. Just clear with amber sequential signal and running light
  23. I'm in South Carolina so 75W90 gear oil all year round doesn't hurt. I get your point about the teflon tape on the plugs, I've been doing it for years without issue. Thanks for watching. Thanks for watching.
  24. I have the alldata.com GM tech manuals for my 2024 Silverado 2500HD and also for my 2021 GMC Yukon. I find them to be an invaluable resource when working on my vehicles. I used them too on my previous 2019 GMC Canyon and 2022 Silverado 1500. Great info on them And since this thread is about diffs. I'm gonna drop this video here. Couple Highlights: The diffs no long have drain plugs. (BOO! GM). The fill bolts are not magnetic. But the covers have a magnet attached to them. The diff fluids have a range of "fullness": Rear Differential Approx. Minimum Capacity 3.17 quarts - Fill to 0.0"-0.4" below fill port. Front Differential Approx. Capacity - 1.9 quarts - Fill to 0.0" to 0.24" below fill port. I used 75W90 Mobile Delvac front and rear. Been running great for several thousand miles. T-Case is simple. Dexron VI fluid. Has both fill and drain plugs. Fill er up til it spills out.
