  1. Then you would just replace the cloth with the new leather. They do it a lot at one of the dealers close by here.
  2. To each his own, but my experience with Advantage has been nothing but positive. He asked for other options and this is one.
  3. Check out the Advantage Hard Hat. I have had mine for about a year without issue. it seals well and sits flat like you are describing you would want. Folds up nicely or you can just remove it in about 2 minutes if necessary. It comes with either a vinyl top or a canvas top (very nice) and is in your price range. My bed has been dry since I bought mine. i have yet to see any water in my bed. I have a Bedrug so maybe there has been a little but I have checked and never seen any. I think you would be very pleased with it. Check it out.
  4. Sounds like a phenomenal service manager. Mine has been good as well but, I'm not sure if he would go to those lengths. I had my bulbs replaced about a month ago. Took them right at an hour.
  5. I'll try it when I get home this evening. Not driving the truck today.
  6. Had the Vosla update done on Saturday morning. I have to say it is a substantial difference. There is definitely more light out in front of the truck at night and the lighting color is better as well. If you haven't done this yet, I highly recommend it.
  7. I went to my local dealer yesterday and talked to the service manager about this. He initially looked at me like I had two heads and said he had no idea what I was talking about. I then gave him the TSB # and he said OK "that's an engineering code." He then called it up on his computer and said "yep right here it is". Ordered the bulbs and will get me fixed up when they come in. If it helps, what he called up said something about addressing lighting in dark rural areas. If you're having difficulty with dealer try using GM terminology.
  8. Trust me when I say, You will be much happier with the Bilsteins!! My wife even commented how much better it rides and she doesn't even know I put the shocks on it!
  9. I noticed that my truck handled better as well. I think it just tightened up the ride which I like. Agree completely on the 57 Buick comment!
  10. Had my truck aligned today. They said it wasn't out enough for me to notice, but it was out a little and would have affected tire wear some so I'm glad I had it checked. It was worth the 50 bucks I think!
  11. I am a High School teacher so I brought my truck in and the Auto class instructor had two of his higher level kids (with his supervision) install my shocks. Great real world experience for them and it was free for me. Since I didn't pay for the installation, I'm taking it this afternoon for an alignment. The shop I'm taking it to says it might not need it but, I'm having them check it anyway. Better safe than sorry for 45 bucks. The instructor at my school told me that it might need it and it might not. He said he was sure that it wouldn't be off very bad if at all. If you trust your dealer, then I wouldn't worry about it. Sounds like they've always been straight up with you. Do you think your truck handles and rides better? I didn't like the way the front end on mine would sway up and down for a second after hitting a bump. The Bilsteins have taken that away and I like it better. Truck seems to stay planted to the road better than before.
  12. Third from the bottom and my truck is approximately 1/2" lower in front. You can barely tell it isn't level without measuring.
  13. I set mine at the third setting as well and I think it rides and handles better than stock.
  14. The Jr. kit for the 6.2 is available. P/N 201-711 for dry filter , 200-711 for the oiled filter.
