  1. No, this is not normal
  2. Ok, thanks for the info.
  3. Brand loyalty is one thing but stop the madness. I have been a loyal GM customer since the 90's. I currently own two GM products. Before these two I owned two others, and before those two others. I just want GM to own up and stop telling dealers to tell the customers that everything is normal or operating as designed or if there's not a code or a check engine light nothing's wrong. Instead of giving us the run around I would rather they say, "yes, we know about all these issues and our engineers are working on solutions, it may take some time, we don't want our customers to feel like we don't care or aren't working on solutions." If anybody thinks they have found a problem with this vehicle that GM didn't know about you are sadly mistaken. They put tons of test miles on this vehicle, they know all of the problems. EXAMPLE : It's impossible for them to put all of those miles on a vehicle and didn't know that the radio reception is crappy and cuts in and out constantly, yes I know for some people that is a minor issue but for others it's not.
  4. Your more realistic than me, your posts are very confusing. It's hard to tell what your point of view is, people shouldn't complain about the problems with their brand new vehicle or the crappy service they are getting from some of the dealerships, some people have to beg their dealer to receive corrective actions. GM field rep repairs a brand new truck by balancing the drive shaft with a weight and some HOSE CLAMPS. Why do you even read these threads, ok, I give up, I will be passive and allow you to win......this is not going to be one of those "Kumbaya" moments that you yearn for.....what a joke
  5. Yours looks great. Mine is 37 3/16 in the front on both sides, however the right rear is 39 3/4 and the left rear is 40 1/4. Is this because the gas tank is on the left rear? Below your picture it says you have 2.25 level
  6. So to get the front height the same as the rear do I need a 1.5, 2, or 2.5 level kit. Or does it depend on the manufacture of the kit. 14 LTZ Z71
  7. It's still unacceptable regardless of your age. 21 year old with a 2014 GM full size pickup, congrats, I hope it all works out for you.
  8. That's totally unacceptable behavior by the service manager, especially in front of other employees and customers. I think you need to talk to the dealership owner.
  9. That may be how you test it but it is definitely not a permanent fix. This would be a good poll. If you went to buy a new 40 - 50k truck and the salesperson said, "oh by the way, we balance our drive shafts by clamping weights to them with hose clamps, yes that's right, hose clamps, oh yes sir, it's how we permanently affix the weight to the shaft". Would you buy it. Unbelievable!!!
  10. Apparently you have nothing wrong with your truck, and yes I expected more out of a 50k truck. Before making comments like this remember that some people save for a long time to buy one of these trucks and others make years of payments. According to GM they put ...what was it....millions of test miles on this truck. I am willing to bet they knew about the majority of the problems with this truck before it was released, if not, their testing is BS.
  11. Definitely a very strong candidate for truck exhaust of the year. Wow, that sounds tough!!
  12. Do you know about Kinney's muffler shop, its about 45 miles from you. They are very popular and from what I have seen do great work. http://www.kinneysmufflershop.com/kinneysmufflershop.com/TRUCK_SUV_PHOTO.html Go to this page and click on videos, there are several 2014's. http://m.youtube.com/user/kirkrob0412?feature=mhee
  13. I would love to get a tune like that but don't want to void engine warranty. Yes, I'm scared to do it. LoL
  14. Get the range V8 device. It will eliminate V4 mode, installs in the diagnostic jack under the drivers side dash, easily removed and installed in seconds, can be left in all the time if vehicle is used as a daily driver, non-traceable when removed. http://www.rangetechnology.com/pages/v8
  15. This is a statement I received from Corsa Performance related to their exhaust system for the 2014 Silverado: We appreciate your interest. We have spent many hours of research and development on the new GM truck systems. We eliminated the mechanical valve after the muffler. This is how we achieve an increase in flow. At times you may notice a "flutter" type sound effect from your vehicle in V4 mode, after installing our performance exhaust. I would not call it drone. We designed our Corsa system to disguise this sound as best as possible. We do this better than any other manufacturer. But the V4 sound will always be a characteristic of your vehicle unless you have it turned off with an aftermarket "tune." But again, I would not call it drone.
  16. Update:This exhaust has a great sound, nice deep rumble, not too loud, however it has V4 drone along with the flutter/helicopter sound. Tune V4 out or Use the Range V8 and this is a great exhaust system. Looks real nice also, dual out the back behind each tire with polished tips. I sent it back to Borla because I want to be able to use V4 mode on long trips or whenever. I think they wanted it to run some tests on it anyway. If you buy the GM version, it comes with the adaptive valve for V4 mode but you can't get it with dual out the back behind each tire. You have to get dual out one side or dual straight out the back. One more thing which I found a little odd, the muffler doesn't have a drain hole so water accumulates in it. I guess you could drill a hole. Oh, one more thing, I tried to get them to just send me the front pipe assembly from the GM version which has the adaptive valve in the pipe and they wouldn't do it. I guess GM owns the rights to that valve or something so you can't even buy the GM version of the exhaust from Borla, you have to buy it from an authorized GM dealer.
  17. Jeff Luke, Executive Chief Engineer for the Chevy Silverado talks very briefly about the valve at the start of this video. Don't blink or you'll miss it. The valve is there to interrupt the exhaust pulses when the engine goes into V4 mode. Without the valve you will probably have what everybody is referring to as V4 drone or flutter, unless you get an aftermarket exhaust where the manufacture has figured out a way to tune it out without using a flapper valve. Or by tuning out V4 mode completely. URL:http://www.drivingthenation.com/?p=8331 http://www.drivingthenation.com/?p=8331
  18. Flipped upside down this tip might look sweet. Great price for polished stainless.
  19. I ordered Borla Touring part # 140544. Just looking for a step above stock, not too loud. Just a deeper tone, these new trucks have almost no sound, GM was very successful at making them quiet. http://www.borla.com/products/silverado_sierra_1500_catback_exhaust_touring_part__140544.html
  20. Wow.....That muffler is suppose to have a very aggressive sound. Update us when you get it installed.
  21. I have been told for absolutely NO DRONE the Flo~Pro "big oval" muffler is the way to go. Has anyone used this muffler? Here is a video from Kinney's muffler shop on a 2012 GMC Denali Sierra. Wow, it's big.
  22. They didn't install an "X" pipe because the Flo-Pro and Flowmaster mufflers they used were the crossflow design and the Magnaflow muffler was the True X. Read the text in these pics.
  23. Kinney's Muffler Shop True Dual Systems with Flowmaster, Magnaflow, and Flo-Pro Mufflers With Magnaflow With Flo-Pro With Flowmaster
  24. I agree, its too pricey. There are other systems that are equal to Borla with a much cheaper price tag.
  25. Mine doesn't have that orange silicone piece on the spring. I wonder if it's there to prevent the valve from eventually starting to rattle?
