  1. Well shoot! It doesn't look like they'll foot the bill for new brakes, which at about 64k miles I think I need because they are starting to pulsate when I brake now.
  2. I have the revolver on my 2014 Silverado Double Cab. I have one word for it. Junk. 5 years and it's coming off as soon as I can decide on the next one to put on. My first beef is it's a total PITA to roll up/down when it's below 40 degrees. I live in Michigan so that means about 6 - 8 months a year. After 5 years, I just opened the tail gate to see the black cloth strips that are were glued to the underside have come unglued. We've had a few weeks of +85 degree sunny days so my guess is that it took 5 years, but the heat melted whatever cheap adhesive they used. For whoever reads this post, save yourself headache and find a different cover - Revolver is great, really, really great at first - make no mistake - I said AT FIRST - but that's it. It won't take but one cold day and most likely, you will wish you got a different cover.
  3. You bought your truck a year in advance lol Bosch Icons - expensive but excellent.
  4. Good deal - they will love it. And in case they want to remove it for any reason, it literally only takes like 30 seconds to remove or put on. Just unplug and pull the hitch pin and remove - that's all there is to it.
  5. I don't leave them on year around but very easily could and probably would, except I usually use the trailer hitch a lot more during the summer. If this one ever needs replacing, I will get the model that you can use while towing and just leave it on year around. They will see almost like it's day time back there with these.
  6. Well, I can tell you the lights might pivot a bit so all you'd need to do is re-position / re-tighten to suit, but the red lens' mounting is a thick padded seal so it harmlessly depresses into the steel housing when you hit something, so it's not going to brake the lens. They are built very, very heavy duty and have a 30 day money back guarantee. I've had mine for going on 3 years now and love them. Plus, it's plenty bright enough back there now that the last thing I worry about is ramming into anything. You'll see what I mean if you get them. I bet you'd totally love them same as me.
  7. Aside from the stock reverse lights being pitiful right out of the gate, I needed to light up behind me for plowing as well, I went with this: http://www.back-upbuddy.com/prod/GG305LED-2.asp No problem seeing behind me anymore! Installs in nothing flat and lights it up back there like you want!
  8. Great review, thanks! That price is too high - and it's a Honda seems to be the only things I don't like about that truck. Personally, I wish GM would bring back the S-10! 'Nuff said.
  9. I have not read through this whole thread but for those looking at Amp research, there is another company out there called Bestop Power Board http://www.bestoppowerboard.com/ Just throwing it out there - seems they might cost a bit less.
  10. Friggen sharp!
  11. I've had the BackFlip on my truck since July 2014 and while I love the look, I would not buy another one for the following reasons. My biggest pet peeve is it is difficult to roll up and down once the outside temperature drops to 30 degrees, the colder it is outside, the more difficult it is to roll up - and down, once it gets below about 10 degrees, forget it, it is impossible to roll up. I have not actually tried to force it to roll up when it's that cold out because I feel sure I will break something. For me, this is a deal breaker. When it's warm out, it rolls up with one hand smooth and easy though. Next, while I knew that it is not waterproof, it leaked only very slightly at first, no big deal for me - but almost two years later and it leaks pretty bad. I think the main reason is when the cover is rolled up and secured with the straps, the straps themselves pull the front corners of the cover up and away from the bed, effectively unsealing it from the bed even after it is rolled back down.
  12. Yep, that's the same one I have. I totally love it. As I mentioned, rolling it open in summer can be done with one hand very easily, but when it gets really cold, I tend to crawl under it to get something out that might be toward the front of the bed rather than open the cover. Somehow the track does not roll out of the side rails very easy at all when the outside temp is really cold. Mine leaks only a very little from the front corners, but nothing that weather stripping and a little silicon sealer wouldn't fix. For me, the leakage is so little that it doesn't matter. Probably because I use my truck to plow snow http://www.plowsite.com/showthread.php?t=155939 but I was surprised to find that more snow got in than water.
  13. This is the one I have.
  14. I got the Bakflip Roll-X http://www.bakflip.com/p-349-roll-x-tonneau-cover.aspx and love it in summer, but not in winter. When it gets cold out, it is not easy to roll up, in fact, it is quite a chore compared to when the cover is warm.
  15. I know I've increased idle time in this weather. The darn remote starter needs to be able to just start the truck when you push the button no matter how many times you push it - two starts for 10 minutes each just doesn't come close to cutting it in this weather. Either they should not limit it to two remote starts or they should've made the truck so it warms up sooner - a lot sooner. Seems like it takes this engine about three times longer to warm up than my old 2000 S-10 and 2003 Trail Blazer.
  16. I've put in E85 for the last three tanks and looks like I get between 10 - 11mpgs in this weather (-9 Fahrenheit this morning)
  17. At the dealer where I bought my truck, I test drove both my truck and my truck's twin with the 3:42 just for comparison and I can say that to me, from 0-70, if there was any difference at all, it was so slight that I only thought I might have noticed something, but since I couldn't see any real difference and only rarely pull a trailer, I went with the 3:08 for the better MPGs - and yes, it pulls great after - and before 65 IMO. The performance of these trucks is really exceptional IMO.
  18. Yes, 3.08 rear end.
  19. Mine will go into V4 at 80 mph on a flat road in cruise.
  20. All the vehicles I've ever owned always get noticeably worse mileage in winter - I didn't know the culprit was winter blend till reading this thread. Looks like I have the same truck as Luis. I only run regular gas and my average mpg went from about 19 to about 15 - must be thanks to the winter blend. I don't care how easy I am on the pedal, on average it just won't do much better, but when I don't baby it, it sure is easy to watch it go lower.
  21. I installed the same cover on my 2014 Silverado regular bed 3 months ago and love it. I used the weather strips in front and all I get is probably a few ounces - enough to make a very small puddle near the front corners after I run it through the car wash or after a really heavy rain. The cover settled completely flat for me after a week or so in the hot sun. The only complaint I have is that when I go to roll it up, it sticks a little unless I manually push up the stops by the tail gate, one of these days I may get around to re-aligning the cover, but for now, it's no biggie.
  22. I've got the Roll-X too and am completely satisfied with it. It's a hundred times better than the old style canvas styles and IMO, the fiberglass covers - and don't worry, the edges settle down nice and flat after a week or so, sooner if it gets really hot outside. Still, that Retrax looks better yet IMO - I probably would have gotten that one but I didn't know about it at the time.
  23. Ha! Awesome durability test lol! Man that thing is sweet!
  24. It is not completely waterproof but for me, it's close enough. After going through the automatic car wash or a heavy rain, I get maybe a few ounces of water that makes a tiny puddle by the front passenger side of the box - that's it. I've had it since mid June and so far, It's awesome.
