  2. Double post - sorry

  4. I was under the truck replacing my trailer light module (yay) and while there moving the camera plug to the new instead of the bumper location. I found these weird plugs on the harness and was just curious if anyone knows what they are for? 2024 Silverado 2500HD LTZ (Z71) with all options except folding tailgate and power side steps. There is one plug just attached to the middle of a wire loom and the other comes out of the harness and terminated into a plug not attached to anything. Thanks for any input.
  5. Just an update: Originally got truck back, then took it back in for the headliner swap. 2 days after I got it back, leaking again - but not NEARLY as much water. This time, there was a tiny leak from the roof marker lights, the new gasket they had put on previously was torn (so they say). While it was in the dealer I had them look into the AC taking forever to cool down the air. Turns out they had to replace the AC compressor. Blows ice cold right after start up now, but truck was in the dealer for right at a month. Glad to have it back, but paranoid about issues now.
  6. Is this something I can see without tearing panels out? I can and have taken entire interiors out in the past, but as I get older I find the less effort the better, I only like to tear things out now when there is a purpose. I guess I could use this as an opportunity to dynamat everything or something.
  7. Sometime last week, I noticed a water stain on the headliner in my 2024 2500 LTZ. I took pics and though that I needed to make a dealer service appointment when I got a chance. Then, a few days later it was pouring down rain I was driving and noticed water actively leaking into my cab. Turns out I had a leak from the roof lights and rear sliding window (didn't even know it was leaking back there). So keep an eye out, in case this comes up with anyone else's new truck. One other weird note, the dealership is saying they have to change the windshield to swap out the headliner? Is that legit? I have clear tint on my windshield and I don't want to have to get it reinstalled. Thanks all!
  8. I normally use a mix of 87 and 92, depending on which I feel like buying at the time. I haven't really seen a difference between the 2. I am not sure what the ethanol content is as I usually only worry about that with the lawn mower and atv's. My "normal" gas mileage is around 14 with stop and go traffic, I can get into the 20's (22 showing as best) when on longer highway and interstate trips. I don't get on the gas leaving stop signs or red lights, and I don't idle a lot.
  9. Totally worth it! I have a 2024 LTZ that has every option that the High Country has with the exception of the stiching on the seats and power step bars. It is a crew cab with an 8ft long bed, and IS a pain to park in most parking lots, however, the surround cameras make it a LOT easier AND I can go to Lowe's or Home Depot, put a load of 8ft lumber in and still shut the tailgate. It is hands down an amazing vehicle. It is a bit rough riding unloaded and I currently daily drive mine and get about 14mpg in town, best of 22mpg when I take the interstate.
  10. I am "kind of" leveled. I have 2" drop shackles in the rear as we tow an older gooseneck trailer that needed the bed to be a bit lower. The tires fit perfectly with only a very very slight rubbing on the fender liner in the front at full lock when turning the wheels to the right - no issues turning left.
  11. Here are some more - the GMC I'm parked next to also has Nitto's on there, but I didn't verify the size. I threw in a pic of the solid aluminum folding tonneau cover I found on close-out for $150.
  12. Here are some that I have on my phone. Let me know if you need any closer or different angled pics.
  13. Just throwing this out there - we have local O'Reiiley's auto parts that can build/make steel hydraulic lines. I wonder if it would be easier/cheaper to see if you can have a different shaped coolant line made? Just spitballing ideas, not sure if this would work or not
  14. I have 35/12.5/20 Nitto Recon Grapplers on my 2024 LTZ Z71 - so they should fit on your AT4 as I think yours is a little bit higher than mine. There is a SLIGHT rub on the driver's side at full lock, but nothing serious.
  15. That is probably the case in most cases - however there are several reasons I used the 2" drop shackles on the truck: - I am old and need a double knee replacement so getting in and out of the bed is difficult. It is a LOT easier now that the rear is lowered 2" - I like a leveled truck, so this gave me that in addition to the ease of getting in/out - My gooseneck horse trailer is a 2001 and raising it involves cutting off the shackle, placing a block, and re-welding. I (unfortunately) have NO skill at welding so it would mean finding someone to do it for me - My gooseneck horse trailer is a "step-up" trailer without a ramp and we have a couple of older horses who may have trouble stepping up even 2" higher to get in. I have a smaller bumper pull trailer with a ramp, but my horse is a 1/2 draft and doesn't fit in it, lol.
  16. I have a 2024 as well and I tow a 10,500 pound 5th wheel and a 12,000 pound or so gooseneck horse trailer. Because the horse trailer is older, it isn't as tall as modern trailers. I installed 2" drop shackles so my truck sits level unloaded and added Timbrens to keep the truck from squatting under load. Works well so far.
  17. I put 2" drop shackles on mine because I haul an older gooseneck 3 horse trailer that sits really low. I swapped out the factory bump stops for timbrens and now the truck doesn't squat at all while towing and it rides great pulling. Rides just like factory when unloaded. If you do the drop shackles, you will have to call Timbren to order as the GM part number for our trucks is too tall when lowered 2 inches.
  18. Just to give you an idea - I have a 2024 Silverado LTZ Z71 with every single option (HUD/Sunroof...etc) except power steps. It is a gasser 4x4 crew cab long bed and my cargo capacity is 3446 and the sticker lists a max gooseneck trailer hitch weight of 2760. Not sure exactly how much the 3500 springs will add.
  19. I occasionally tow heavy in both gravel and mud (gooseneck horse trailer - about 10,000 pounds) so I needed a tire that would work well in those situations. I swear by Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They are relatively quiet on the road, work fantastic pulling up-hill in loose gravel and while I don't drive where it is super muddy, they work very well in slick/soupy yard/dirt road scenarios.
  20. As long as you drive it, it should be OK (based on my experience). Just read up as much as you can on diesel emissions issues so you can be 100% on it. There are other things like the fuel injectors have to be swapped at around 150k miles or so - but I never did this so I don't know how difficult it would be. I do know that the diesel engines themselves are built very strong and can last hundreds of thousands of miles without major issues. If DEF deletes were still legal, I would probably still be driving a diesel.
  21. While I think there aren't a lot of complaints about diesels on here - there are on the Duramax forums. I was in a 2016 High Country 2500 Duramax and had SO MANY issues with the emissions systems on that truck that I got frustrated and traded it in for a 6.6 gas. My wife's business had the same types of issues with their 2017 GMC 2500 Duramax. Here are some "normal" diesel issues that made me go back to gas: - You can't idle for long periods without gumming up the DEF components (I killed 2 DEF heaters by idling too much) - You can't let the truck sit for more than a week or so without killing the DEF system (the fluid can dry/crystalize) I killed a DEF pump because I was driving my Impala and let the truck sit for a few moths - Diesels don't like traffic, so you will need to make sure you have times you can get on the interstate and cruise for a while Now, with that said, some things I miss: - Better mileage (about 23mpg around town with my 2016 and about 17mpg around town with my 6.6) - The torque, ugh. It was a beautiful thing I normally tow a 3 horse gooseneck that weighs about 8,000 pounds and a 5th wheel that weighs about 10,500 pounds several times a year. The 6.6 gas pulls it without any issues and all I have to worry about are oil changes.
  22. I bought one for a 1500 long bed and it fit my 2500 long bed perfectly. I bought it from ebay (JCWhitney brand) for $150. It's aluminum, folds flat, and fits great. It is a bit noisy, but for $150....... worth it!
  23. May not be relevant, but I know a lot of banks will finance a car with less than 7,000 miles as a "new" car instead of financing as a "used" car. I have no idea what a fait offer would be - just throwing some more information your way.
  24. Yup - not animated when using turn signal. Not sure why, but animated turn signal in the rear would be awesome!
