I ended up ordering the Kent clear seam sealer in the TSB and doing it yesterday. I masked both sides of “the gap” and taped a sheet of plastic into the bed to catch drips. I did soak the tube of seam sealer in hot water for a bit so it would flow better. It rained like crazy today for several hours and no signs of any leak. My truck is an early build 2021 and I had a tiny leak start around 14k miles.

How did it do?? Which sealer did you use?

How flowable is the seam sealer? Could this be done without removing the spoiler and just masking well and running the bead through the gap between the spoiler and top of glass? I noticed that 3M makes a clear flowable self leveling seam sealer…

I have the Toyos on my SLT in 275/60r20 and would recommend them. They make a bit more noise than the Dueler A/T that came stock but its not objectionable.

Can someone tell me how much tension should be on the flapper valve spring? I can turn the flapper by hand with almost no resistance and its "resting" position with the engine off is not all the way closed. Does this sound right?

I can't answer your question about the GY Territory, but mine also came with the Trailrunners and I now have the p-rated Toyo AT3 in the stock 275/60r20 size. I tried the KO2 first but did not like how they rode.....you could definitely tell they were a heavy d-rated tire. Discount Tire swapped them out to the Toyo for me and I like them much better. They ride as good as the Trailrunner but do make a bit smidge more noise. They are an aggressive tire and seem to be wearing very well.

If the truck sits out in the rain for a day or so and is dry and your are going to do a 2-3 year lease, I would go ahead with it.

Based upon what I have seen in the other thread about this, the 2021 trucks do have a redesigned window but might be leakers right from the start due to missing sealant. I don't think anyone with a 2021 has found cracks in their window frames so if they are sealed right from the factory the issue might be a lot less likely to occur. My advice would be to get a truck if its a good deal but don't take delivery until it has sat in the rain a few days and you can inspect it. FWIW, I had a 2020 and now have a 2021 and neither have leaked.

Are you still happy with the KO2s? How is the ride and noise in the stock size? I am on the fence between these and the P rated versions of the Ultraterrain and Toyo AT3.

Are you still liking the Ultraterrains a year later? How have they worn?

That make sense. Does your atty think you have to disclose this to the next buyer or the dealer if you trade it? That could be why there is not a confidentiality provision...

Hot damn....that is fantastic. Paragraph 2(f) is interesting. If someone on this board goes after GM based upon reading this agreement do you have to indemnify GM???? Just messing....that would be a pretty big stretch.

I call BS on this. No way there aren't confidentiality provisions in that agreement. Hope you have the check in hand and have spent it......

It seems like the problems on the newest trucks are sealant issues from production and not cracked frames. Is that correct??

It is interesting to see some of the brand new trucks leaking. How are the frames cracking that fast?

For what it is worth.....I just checked my September build 2021 and it does not have the wing. My January build 2020 had the wing. My 2020 never leaked, but it only 8k miles when I traded for the 2021 (which is not leaking).

Let me know what you find out about the steering. Is it a knock type creeking noise at low speeds? I had a 20 Sierra and now a 21 and both had/have a the steering noise at low speed. Did not really bother me but I would have it fixed if it was easy. I will say that the infotainment on both my 20 and 21 seemed a bit glitchy but it did not really bother me either.

Ken....your truck looks great. What lift/level kit do you have?

I would stick with the stock size with P rating. This tire has always intrigued me as a good alternative to the K02 which is a heavy D rated tire in the stock size.

That is probably ok, but ideally I think you would have at least 3 threads showing. You should be ok replacing the bolts one at a time without jacking it up.

I want to go with same level/tire combo you have. Any concern that using the bottom mount 1” kit will cause rubbing on the CV boot?

Add me to the list. I have been waiting on the black plastic front RH fender trim since late February.

I can attest to the amount of work involved to compound, polish, and decon the paint to do a coating. I did the work myself and it took me about 10 hours work, and it wasn't my first rodeo with this type of work. The clearcoat on these trucks is pretty hard (which is good to prevent future swirls) and it took a lot of work with my DA polisher to correct the paint. I am a cheap bastard so I wouldn't want to pay someone to do it for me, but $1200 - $1600 does not seem out of line. I used the new blackfire ceramic coating and am pleased with the results. The consumer grade coatings (like what I used) don't have the longevity of the "pro" coatings but still offer at least 12 months of real protection on a properly prepped surface and make the truck super easy to wash.
