  1. I'm using the 91 tune with hard shift and tried paying attention today on my way home. Didn't notice any difference compared to the other gear shifts. When do you notice, part throttle, medium acceleration, or wide open hard acceleration?
  2. You guys and your lifted trucks. It always make me get the itch to want my done. Looks nice at that height and with those wheels/tires.
  3. Your engine looks very nice. Is this the 5.3 or the 6.w? What have you all done to it? Headers? What is that plastic top cover from?
  4. Problem is the manufacturer can market them however they want as I doubt there is a standard for what make an AT tire. And why wouldn't GY try to upsell the product. Typical marketing at work. And GM being stingy. I agree with part of your statement on the LT,s, I wouldn't expect an LT tire to come on the 1500 trucks. In any case I think most agree the GY's are not worth a $200-$300 upcharge and GM could be putting a better AT on with that upcharge. Looks like GM is getting away with it again just like the "normal operation" vibs people feel. Buy still I wonder why some like myself get the Bridgestones then. Is it a 4x4 vs z71 thing? Or an assembled in Mexico vs Fort Wayne thing? Or just a regional thing where final vehicle destination being a southern or northern state determines it.
  5. My truck's window sticker lists all terrain tires and it came with the Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts. I swapped em out for larger Toyo Open Country A/T II's though. But in any case I think you should have gotten the Bridgestones and not the GY's. I'd go talk to the dealership.
  6. I noticed a slight vib at freeway speeds within the first week of owning it. Already owning and driving Chevy trucks I didn't even think about paying attention to the ride quality at all speeds during my short test drive which did not include a drive on a freeway. Who would think the ride quality would be worse than my 9yr old Silverado. So all those saying do an extended test drive at ALL speeds are giving smart advice. My 70mph vib was better after a tire rebalance but I think the 50mph not smooth road shakes have gotten worse this summer. I now have 11k miles on it.
  7. So are the Bilsteins worth getting? Do they do a decent job dampening all the sharp bumps you feel in these trucks on less than smooth roads? That's when my truck seems to start the shaking.
  8. Sometimes it's worth it. We complained about the issues and service on our Acadia and a regional rep called us back and we ended up with a $2500 customer loyalty voucher for a new GM vehicle. Used it to get one of these fancy shakerados. So that worked out well for us. Lol.
  9. Haha. I think you've nailed it. Didn't you know these entire trucks are adaptive like the transmissions. Adaptive frames, adaptive shocks, adaptive rear ends, adaptive tires..... But seriously I've noticed the same thing on ocassion. I don't understand why it sometimes get the odd shakes. I had my tires rebalanced and I disabled AFM and my original 70+ mph slight vibration I don't notice anymore but now on roads that are not real smooth it seems to sometimes shake a lot around 50 mph. To me it seems like my shocks are bad but I doubt its that simple of a fix.
  10. I have a 2014 Silverado with the 5.3. diablo tuned it with less than 1,000 miles and only a few weeks old. Its now about 9 months old and I have over 11,000 miles on it. Other than for the week of my free oil change I've had some variation of a tune in it. From AFM on and off, TM on and off, 87 & 91 octane & E85 tunes. Biggest surprises to me is the trans shifting is so much better tuned and AFM off causes no decrease in mpg. No engine or trans issues at all. Runs great.
  11. My 2014. Mostly stock, just a few accessories so far. Really glad I chose the silver color.
  12. That really sucks. My dealer blamed my larger LT tires being too much for the 3.08 rear end along with the AFM for my highway speed vibs. My vib is normally not that noticeable or maybe I've just gotten used to it. But I did disable AFM with a tune after my visit to the dealer. I'd say drive it in M5 for a week to see if it actually feels better. If you think you want to keep the truck I'd think you could get a dealer to fix the radio issues. I've not heard of that being a major unsolvable issue like the vibs. Can't they just swap out the radio, antenna, etc. Seem like poor reception has gotta be fixable. I'm really surprised this news hasn't gone mainstream yet. It sure needs to the way GM is treating it as if nothing is wrong.
  13. jericbarg, keep us posted. I've recently started looking into if my truck could handle one of those slide in pop up style campers. I found a good site here for models and weights. http://www.truckcampermagazine.com/buyers-guide Seems like if you stick to one closer to 1000lbs these trucks would handle it fine since you've got to add in all the other weight of passengers, cargo, etc. I have a small boat, about 3000 lbs so I was curious if this was doable as I can't tow both a trailer camper and a boat at the same time.
  14. When I originally installed my Elite can, above the brake booster, I left the hoses long incase I wanted to move the location and I did notice the hoses oval a little bit. Once I was set on that location I trimmed the hoses to not have a lot of extra and they no longer oval on me. I have not heard of anyone having issues with the hoses collapsing so it's probably fine. Makes me wonder though if after a few years we should be replacing the hoses?
  15. Are you guys who have gone to the Michelin's for a smoother ride running the Tweel? Seems like the only tire that might actually help ?
  16. Smart choice on the larger can. You'll be happy you got it in a few short months. I wonder if Elite sells just the larger can bottoms that I could retrofit onto mine.
  17. I'm not exactly sure what you are taking about in regards to wideband lol but maybe this screenshot will help. I'm Diablo tuned so maybe a little different stock but AFR always seems to read 9.76:1 at idle or any other rpm/speed.
  18. Nope no real reason I never tried 15. I actually started at like 2 or 3 and kept going up a little at a time to see what felt good. Got up to 10 and I liked it. I read some others were going even higher so I went to 12 and like that too so just stuck with it.
  19. What TCM tune did you choose? I'm currently using the 87/flex ECM tune and the firm TCM tune w/ AFM off, TM off, throttle boost +12. I have not noticed a bog down with this setup but overall my impression of it is it isn't anything great, not a lot of wow factor in this tune. I dont really like this current setup and will be changing it soon. I only tried it out to get a good baseline mpg vs E85 so I know my true cost savings. I might be getting these threads mixed up but I think TM left on actually runs better personally and seems other say this too. The one time I noticed a "bog down" when it shifted was right after they released/added the flex part into their tunes earlier this spring. I was using the diablo 91/flex tune w/ E85. I sent Diablosports a few logs. They fixed my tune files and I never noticed it again. They said it was a TM issue in the tune they released. The rpm shift points I never really noticed or got a good feel for if it made any difference when I adjusted them up a little. The setup I like best is the diablo 91/flex tune using E85, firm shift, AFM off, TM on, throttle +12. This is what I'll stick with long term. It just runs great on my truck.
  20. I'm not saying you are incorrect but I think I remember there are settings for both part throttle and WOT for both normal and tow/haul for the rpm's. I recall thinking dang it I need to go in and set it 10 times just for normal mode and then thinking I'm not gonna bother with 10 additional times for the tow/mode settings. In the end I left all these rpm shift points at the defaults. And yep I recall the throttle boost setting is just a single setting overall.
  21. So is this just the 6.2 that the diablosport tuner can not do this stuff because on my 5.3 I can configure all those settings individually?
  22. I've noticed this with mine too. Its like a rough patch of road sets it off and then the truck can't stop itself from vibing. That's why I wondered if better shocks would help. One other thing I noticed was when my truck was in and they gave me a Traverse for a loaner I hits these same spots along my commute and it too you could feel the roughness of the road kinda start to vib the vehicle but it was much less intense and was able to recover from it quickly if this makes sense. What you'd expect a vehicles suspension to do but the truck can't seem to handle it as well.
  23. Similar here, mines only somewhat annoying sometimes. What axle ratio do you have? Like WendysOrBust mentioned my dealer swapped my larger than stock Toyo AT II's off my truck and tested with stock tires. They said GM makes them test with stock size tires. In the end they said my vib was made worse with the larger tires combined with the 3.08 axle ratio. Also that the v4 mode was causing a little of it but that was considered normal. I had thought about the Blistiens but you mentioned they didn't make a difference?
  24. Well shoot I was gonna post a pic of my cc contents but now I don't want you making fun of me. Just kidding. Haha. I'm doing it anyway. After just over 1 month and 1800 miles of MI weather I had about 2 oz of almost all dark oil in my Elite can.
  25. You're using the blackbear tune correct and with AFM off? Did you remove and re-add afterwards? If so did you notice any vibration difference with factory AFM on vs off? My tires were recently rebalanced and afterwards for the first time I tried AFM off. My petal vib at freeway speeds seems a little better but I still get the odd slight shakes and vibs randomly it seems. I can't confirm myself if I can tell the difference in vib with AFM off but the dealer said it was causing some of it. I can say that my fuel economy has not changed at all with AFM off which kind of boggles my mind.
