  1. mine is a Crew Cab.. did they replace parts or did they get a new rearend? Mine was rebuilt from scratch.. if they just replaced bad gears they didn't fix it those gears get worn out but the root cause is the housing itself.. they need to replace the whole assembly preferably order a new one unless you have the 9.5" 3.73's then it is a piece by piece rebuild. mine does have the 20" chrome wheels though... but that isn't consistant either.
  2. both... most of my time has been spent on the freeway going 80+ so it is getting over 20 then...unloaded make them put on the vibration computer... they have one and they just sent out a new software update for it. It will tell them exactly what is wrong with it. A regional rep is not a machine. Or find a dealer that has one and will put it on and go for a ride. They have certian frequencies that point to what is wrong... like earlier it wasn't tires it was the rear end and it was fixed for about 3k miles then the vibes came back and the computer tells them now it is the tires again... you would think that they would just replace those crappy tires and be done with it... for whatever reason they just do not go with these trucks...
  3. well this was after they fixed it with the rearend rebuild...3000 miles which makes sense to me at least from all the reading I have done..
  4. Did they put the anylizer on it to deteremine what it really is? so far that fixed it once and probably going to fix it again, I says in hopes of a quick solution... Yikes for milage I get over 20 on the highway... and 16 around town and I have a 6.2.. it is even doing better than the loaner 6 cyl that is getting 18.2... goes to show that the small engines aren't as efficient as the bigger motors...
  5. well got the call today that the anylizer for the shake points to tires... so they RF the rears no change, they have a set of take offs they are going to put on it and see what it does... if it fixes then they are looking at something different for tires so, as stated earlier there maybe some trueth to the tires in the front causing vibes in the back... My thought still goes to possible tires rotating on the rims and throwing everything off... especially with the 6.2.. wooo hooo!
  6. no it is a GMC so the Chevy guys won't work on it... ;o) Can't recall the name of the dealership but it was just north of Venice FL...
  7. I think you might be on to something... but in my case they rotated the tires without balanceing them from the rear to the front so being a normal logical person I would tend to believe that the vibe would follow the tires... but this is interesting... I would love for them to change out the tires for Michelins... that seems to be hit or miss too. Also someone posted that they should be checking for tire spin onthe wheel which would of course change the balance... oh well... I hope the figure it out... but this is good to know
  8. the mirror would fall down when it was hot and it was really lose so it was great if i wanted to see my chin... then they put in a new one and it had a dimple (the backing was cracked) so they had to replace that one too... not the highest QA I have seen... I laugh because it is all I can do... 05 GMC 2500 never took it to the dealer for anything diesel, 2010 Ford F250 diesel took it in for about 5 or six things... then well this one...
  9. well long time reader first time post... 2014, CC GMC SLT, 6.2L 3.73s, standard box, 20" chrome wheels Great truck up to the dreded 75. Bought it in November when they were having their blowout pricing. We left for FL in Dec. ended up getting 3 new tires in Venice FL, that sorta helped.. then when I got back to MN they took another look at it.. and ended up putting in a new rearend... excessive runout . It was actually smooth for about 3000 miles. Then it started again on our way to Yellowstone.. and it hasn't quit, so it is back. Dealer has been beyond reproach... the best experince ever. Not their fault. Hopefully they fix it then I can update what was the actuall fix. My thought now is even though they rebuilt the rearend (had to order all seperate parts) because GM wasn't shipping that rearend anymore and it fixed it for a while, could it be that it is back out of allignment or possibly bad gears? don't know but hope they figure it out... they are putting on the vibrating machine this week. My wife is chiding me that I am getting a 2015 truck one part at a time... as I have also had the following done to it: new door handles both pass and driver, 2 new rear view mirrors, new headliner, microphone, seat fix, hood fix, 6 new lugnuts, 3 new tires, 1 new rearend... proabably been in the shop for over 2 months.. but i get a loaner so no worries there... Up to 70MPH this thing rides like a dream, goes like a bat out of h311, and tows my toys like it should...
