Thanks for this info. I filed a complaint with the NTSB. My 2014 Sierra 1500 w/86kis effected by this. The local dealership (AutoNation GMC) in Lakewood, CO quoted me $2900 for this job. I'm beyond pissed. To make matters worse, my A/C went out within the last couple months and apparently that's also a common issue on this platform. In the past month, I've replaced my rotors/pads (for the second time), I'm on my 3rd battery, and I just had to have a wheel bearing replaced. This truck is anything but professional grade.

I know this is an old thread, but can someone confirm that 14/15 Sierra 1500 will take the 17 hood without grill/headlight swap? My 2014 Sierra 1500 was hail damaged last week and the hood took the brunt of it. I'd prefer to swap it for a newer one, but wouldn't be able to justify the swap if I need new headlights, grill and bumper too. Thanks

I brought my 2014 in today. They are going to do "kryptonite" to fix it.... Said it'll be about a 7+ hr job. My truck had 15k miles and the entire frame is rusted. He said this is becoming a common issue. Sent from my XT1096 using Tapatalk
