  1. I just test drove a 2025 RST Duramax at lunch. It's a beauty for sure. Felt great. Brand new with incentives is 50k for non 4x4. That's pre tax of course. So now 46k loaded 4x4 2023 with 30k miles or brand new non 4x4 for 50k.... Thanks for tip on transmission. Do you know what year the recall was on? Assuming all years with the 10 speed.
  2. Thanks for those details! I'm not seeing any major changes for the engine or transmission unless I missed one. This is my daily driver. I'm mainly hauling lumber and equipment from the truck bed for projects and work. Get up to mountains every winter for a few weeks in snow but other than that it's sunny San Diego weather. Trails sometimes inland to the desert but nothing crazy in terms of off roading. You know I should look at the Sierra closer. Is it priced the same as Silverado? Is there an RST variant of GMC?
  3. Hey All, Current 2014 LTZ Silverado 5.3 got hit and now need to upgrade. Had the truck 10 years and plan to keep next truck 10 years. I've located a 23 Silverado 3.0 I6 RST. It's fully loaded for about 46k with around 30k miles. Is there any reason I should avoid this truck. I only want 23 or higher to ensure the LZ0 engine. My 5.3 gets about 12 MPGs so I'm fairly set on the Duramax. Is there any reason I should explore getting a 24 or 25 for 5-10k more? Anything new in those years I'm missing by getting a 2023? Any and all input is appreciated!
  4. Did anyone ever provide dimensions on the simple wood box from OP?
  5. Hey folks, Doing an upgrade to a Pioneer head unit and have a few questions. I priced out everything on Crutchfield and seems fairly straight forward except for one component. One component that it says I need it "Axxess AXM50-GM1 Amplifier Retention Interface". This adapter is 250$. No way in hell I'm buying this part to keep a crappy amp. Instead of buying this part I want to just buy a new amp. I have the following questions. 1. I have Bose LTZ with center console, how can I confirm if I have a sub in the center console or not? I have read various things saying some have it and some do not. I would probably just replace the sub here. Is this an 8" sub? 2. Does anyone have wiring diagram of the Bose Amp? Essentially I would just run a new line out from the head unit to the back and put in the new amp to bridge and runt he sub. I would just run the other speaker from the head unit. Any concerns with this configuration? Keep in mind I have no issues with the current quality of sound from Bose, I jsut really am tired of this head unit and want to upgrade to get android auto and other features. 3. Other ides or better configurations/options?
  6. Hey guys, I'm getting this notification on two occasions but intermittent. The first is when someone sits in the rear back right seat or even sometimes if I set something heavy on that rear back seat. The other is also tied to the rear right seat but sometimes alerts the moment they pull the right rear seat belt. Can anyone advise whatight be triggering this and which items I troubleshoot before starting to dig in back there? Thank you!
  7. Hi Guys, Does anyone have a recommendation on how far to adjust these to ensure level with rear considering stock tire size and rear Fox 2.0 suspension? I counted 40 threads from the bottom and looks like lots of room still to adjust up. My rear is sitting at 38" even and my front is currently 37 1/4 with a Rough Country leveling kit. I want to remove the leveling kit and only use these coil overs to get the best ride possible. Not sure it would make much of a difference but that is what I am going for. I know there are tons of threads on this topic but didn't see anything specific other than struggling to adjust while they are already on. That may be what I need to do but just wanted to check if anyone might have some helpful tips. Thanks! Also to adjust, I'm guessing I need the tool and also need to compress the spring even if they are not installed? Just pulled them out of the box and will install in a few days.
  8. Just curious what loss of features? Maybe I need to do more research. Were you comparing to the gen 4? Seems to have way MORE features than the other system and of course the 12.1 screen. I'm trying to see why I would go with the other system. Also looking at the Deanli cluster replacement. ooo that is nice, but I'll go to that thread for that one.
  9. Just looking into this mod for my 2014. I also stumbled across the Linkswell system and now I'm not sure which direction to go. The 12.1 screen for similar price seems much better. That screen is Massive!! Any thoughts? https://www.adcmobile.com/product/gen-4-t-style-radio-for-2014-19-gm-trucks/
  10. I need to take a better photo but I did this some time back. I was over the chrome everything look and also got some black rockstar rims and black nerf steps. I love it, but I'm sure not for everyone.
  11. Are you happy with the Rockstar rims? I've read a few different reviews and I've only come across your setup with them. I'm looking at a different set...The XD811 but they are similar and was curious how they have lasted over the past few years. Thanks! https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&initialPartNumber=XD81129067712NB&wheelMake=KMC%20XD%20Series&wheelModel=XD811%20Rockstar%20II&wheelFinish=Black%20Painted&showRear=no&autoMake=Chevrolet&autoModel=Silverado+1500+2wd&autoYear=2014&autoModClar=Crew+Cab
  12. I would definitely post on that thread linked above. This thread was made to discuss fixes that worked. The journey to finding your fix would be the other thread. If you're under warranty though I would absolutely go into the dealership as this is a known issue. Good luck!!
  13. Hey Bu Hey Bullfrog, Welcome to the forum. I would suggest posting this in the original "Shake or Vibration Issue" thread. I will put the link in case you haven't seen it yet. I only made this thread so my "Fix" and other fixes would not get lost in the giant thread. I'm almost certain that someone has looked at what you are inquiring about. Just a suggestion to get more eyes on it, good luck! http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/153186-shake-or-vibration-issues/
  14. *UPDATE* Replaced my shaft as outlined in original post and 6 months later I have not had a single issue related to vibrations. I would highly suggest some people attempt this fix. If it doesn't work you might be out a couple hundred bucks but it would be worth the risk in my opinion. The original shake was so annoying I would have attempted anything! Cheers!
  15. Interesting! Looks like my fix was #2 on the list! Once the vibration is found, there are six different separate problem categories it can fall into: 1st Order Tire (Freq 11-14 hz at 60 mph) 1st Order Prop Shaft (Freq 38-44 hz at 60 mph) 2nd Order Prop Shaft (Normally a launch shudder or left under hard acceleration) 3rd Order Tire Combined with 1st Order Prop (Creates a phasing boom) Vibration Felt in Four-Cylinder Mode (V6 only) Vibration Felt at Idle
