  1. Boy I hope your fix holds up. I thought I was good to go too. From April till August dry as a bone. Then washed the truck one day and drip drip was back. Keep your eye on it....good luck.. fingers crossed. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  2. Well damn that sucks. At least your not the first so there should be plenty of info in this thread. If it is the upper rail glass guide under no circumstances should you let them seal it. If they won't put in a new window, just call your insurance and file a glass claim and have Safelite replace it. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  3. Nope. The new window looked slightly different than the old one so GM must have switched suppliers or part number from the early build Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  4. Yes got window replaced but they damaged a bunch getting it out. The water could also be leaking in the holes that the rear spoiler bolts to the truck. It could Also be a bad seal around the window, both of which would be different than most of the leakers. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  5. If you are looking at the rear window from back seat it is above the headrest, more specifically above the end of the plastic tract the window rides in. I was only able to see it once the headliner was pulled down. You might be able to push up on the headliner as far as it will go, you might be able to see it. Mine was easy to find because I just followed the river of water dripping in. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  6. My dealer had trouble ordering the window too. It was the first one they had ordered and something about the part numbers made it seem like it was three different pieces. Ultimately they got the right one ordered. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  7. Tundra. Just don't get in a crash without a sawzal to remove your wife's leg Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks for the tip. The NY attorney general arbitration program is specifically setup so you don't need an attorney, and can be a document only hearing so you don't have to attend and be cross examined by GM. See what the buyback offer is first and go from there. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  9. Crack in the rear window frame causing water damage all over the truck, and then gm trying to caulk it instead of replacing window. See the 600 page rear window water leak thread if you have trouble falling asleep and need something to read. The definition of insanity is doing something the same way three times and expecting a different result. But I figured I would be just as likely to get a lemon in a Ford or Dodge so might as well stick with the Devil you know than the one you don't. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  10. Im in New York. My 16 Silverado was a lemon too. 60 days with no A/C. Gm was great, extended warranty and free oil changes, then ultimately gave me extra off on this 19. So that has been part of my decision to stick with the brand. On the other hand all three of my neighbor's have f150s with zero problems. I will also say I've been in probably 9 different loaner trucks, all 19 Silverados. Mine was an early build and it seems like quality, fit/finish has gotten way worse further into production. The one I just had was brand new and the front quarter panels had probably 1/2 inch gap all the way down the hood and a huge paint overspray line on the driver door. Another loaner had a roof pop and a DIC and radio that flickered bad. So getting another Silverado feels like I'd be playing Russian roulette. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  11. If you use the build a truck tool on the Chevy website for the 2020 models you can see the option to add tow mirrors to the 1500. The trail boss was $375, but you can't have the blind spot safety package with the tow mirrors. Unless you tow alot, it might be better to just get slip on CIPA tow mirrors when they come out Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  12. Well in my case, I'm working progressively through the process. I want to hear what their offer is. I was told in my state they likely could not do a trade assist. It would have to be a buy back or lemon law, both of which cause a salvage title ND auction of the truck essentially. I have the lemon law as a fall back to use in negotiations. In my state the attorney general has an arbitration program, no lawyer needed. You pay $250 which you get back if you win. In my state I get a full refund of everything with lemon law up to one year and 12k miles with no depreciation for mileage. Because I am way past 30 days it should be a slam dunk. But that process could take months so if gm is willing to come close to that it would certainly be worth it to bring this saga to an end. I had one day to enjoy my truck before this all started. I really do like the truck overall and would probably buy one again. All my issues were caused by a 1/4 inch crack in a piece of plastic. I just want to get in my truck and have it bring me joy and a smile. Right now it is just frustration and regret. Even though I have become the laughing stock of my office and neighborhood I think I would do it again for a 2020 trail boss with the 10 speed. Big sticking point would be sales tax. I get it back with lemon law. Tax was almost $4k, so that is a big sticking point if the buyback doesn't get you a refund of taxes paid. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  13. Just curious if anyone here has done a GM buyback? How do they determine what value you get back? Is it based off purchase price with rebates or some percentage of the original MSRP? Is there a deduction for mileage? Do you get your sales tax back even if you don't buy another gm truck? Guess it might vary by State. Mine could be headed that direction, but not sure yet. Just curious what to expect if it does. Thanks. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  14. Depending on how long your truck is out of service GM has a not very well advertised policy to cover your vehicle payment for a month. I think it's something like 23 or 24 days the gm customer service rep told me. Either way I would be asking them for some Goodwill because of the inconvenience and because you are concerned about long term reliability being the first engine didn'take it 3k miles Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  15. Only changes sound. It's after the last catalytic converter. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  16. I have noticed that since v805.1 update my rear seat reminder only works about half of the time I shut my truck off. I use it to remind me to close the rear slider, but if you use it to make sure your kids don't die in a hot car, be warned it may not beep at you all the time. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  17. Just when you think things can't get worse, you go to pick up three kids from soccer practice and realize you only have two seat belts. You gotta be kidding me....I am running out of words. So if you get your window replaced, make sure they route the seat belts correctly. Now the seats gotta come back out again. Grrrr. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  18. After 5k miles I think I miss the adjustable seatbelt height more than I miss the adjustable pedals Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  19. Have someone sit in backseat and try to identify where noise is coming from Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  20. As right as you can make a damaged lemon. If the end result is acceptable, I would fashion to guess the Goodwill department will assist in some way. If I am not happy with the end result, will be talking with dealer sales manager about a buyback or trade to another Silverado. Last resort is the lemon law. Honestly if I did get out of this truck is rather wait for a 2020 trail boss with a 10 speed. My 19 8 speed also has the dreaded 1-2 clunk on the first shift of the day. I would never buy another gm 8 speed. The inventory of 2019s is pretty depleted anyway locally. I looked and there are only one or two lt trail bosses within 75 miles. Would be very hard to find a loaded trail boss like mine anyway in a 19. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  21. After talking to the district manager and service manager today one thing is clear to me. There are many people that are actually well intentioned and trying to help, it's the execution of the repairs where things go off the rails. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  22. Well. Had my window replaced. It was as if my truck was handed over to a bunch of neighborhood kids covered in grease with no technical skills. They barely bothered to remove any of the black sealant from the first three attempts, they also scratched my truck down to bare metal in two spots. It would appear my back seat was removed and placed on the shop floor, then someone set a tire against it. Had part of what looked like Goodyear on my back seat. Are you freaking kidding me? Also more greasy fingerprints on my headliner and now more interior pieces are scratched. To make things even worse, they left all the scraps and caulk shavings laying in the bed of my truck. I'm glad I picked it up late Friday night and will have had a few days to cool off before talking to service manager Monday morning. If anyone is just noticing a leak for a first time, just call the glass company and have them replace the window on your insurance. Do not let gm caulk your truck. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  23. Last I heard from the dealer at the end of the day the glass company had been at it for an hour trying to get all the black sealant the gm tech had goobed all over my truck. Still had not been able to get the window out. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  24. NO Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  25. My 19 Trail boss does not at 5k miles. The 19 lt double cab loaner I have did it three times on highway today. Sounded like an acorn dropping from 30 feet up and hitting the roof towards the rear brake light area. Perhaps the bolts that hold the third brake spoiler to the truck are torqued too tight?
