  1. thank you...I don't think I do anything out of the ordinary...I spray them down with normal car wash soap (Meguiar's gold I think I use)...then elbow grease and this handy little brush...just under 50k on the tires and they can still get clean!
  2. Cross posted on Black Truck thread...but here is my first spring wash this year, finally washed away the winter grime and oxidation from the past several months! **Damn, i just realized I took this pic before I put the tire shine on! oh well...
  3. Finally washed all the winter grime off the truck...
  4. i have a camper shell and in a similar fashion, I wanted lights to load and unload my camper when my truck was off (most camper installers will tap into your rear lights so your key has to be turned on...i asked to run a hot wire to my LED's...might be another way to look at what you are doing especially if you are already running bed LED's.... (FYI, I ran a strip LED light all the way around my camper shell...works fantastic...here are some pics...i can give you more if you were interested...but the gist is, post relay switch, i ran all my wires in one of those black plastic sleeves, everything looks stock under the hood unless you really are looking for it...
  5. Harsh reality of a black truck...I love my truck when its clean (at best 2-3 days after washing it)...but this is what my truck looks like probably closer to 70% of the time...

  8. new truck? did you keep the campin' wagon?
  9. Check out Black Rhino Company for wheels...they have some really sharp black rims that dont have all the fancy extra flashy chrome stuff that fuel wheels have (if you are looking for a clean simple wheel). Or just get some black factory 18's either way, i am a big fan of 18" rims...i would have a really hard time with 22" rims...i had 20" on my last truck...they were ok...but wouldnt go bigger (and again, IMO).
  10. until i did my truck i had never done it before either...it is relatively simple, and doesn't take much time (i think all three badges took me a little over an hour)...but it does take patience...i used my wife's blow dryer( instead of a heat gun and it worked fine), an old school box razor blade, and good quality vinyl and rubbing alcohol for cleaning prep...just youtube vinyl wrap car emblem and there are plenty of instructional vids to help you along the way...my personal advise is: 1) make sure and use a larger piece and stretch it well (don't skimp and try to cut out the perfect size). 2) get GOOD quality vinyl, it does absolutely make a difference. good luck and post some pics when you get it done!
  11. man i love the tow mirrors...that is one mod i wish i had...
  12. there are plenty of people who buy completely new design as soon as they are available...I prefer to wait a bit and let some of the kinks get worked out...Autotrader, Edmunds.com, and having dealers bid on the same truck have been tools to help me get the deal I want... I did not order my truck...but got exactly what I wanted...I did not say you could get a 2019 right now for that...but again, if you can be patient...I would bet in the spring you can...I have bought trucks in October, March and August...(the 2016 which is a refresh, but still a 'new style' in August of 2016...) and all at least 20% off MSRP...my point is it doesn't have to be end of the year left overs...
  13. it is...bought it new then...i missed the 2019 part...my bad...i would say that regardless of year...i would not pay more than at LEAST 20% off MSRP...I have purchased 3 new chevys and have always been able to do that...I have also helped friends buy trucks and they have always been able to do that if they are patient...so I wouldn't really say 21% is a great deal...I would say that should be the standard deal...
  14. LTZ Z71, Midnight edition...21% off MSRP...
  15. I have had a long week and need some positive attention...my truck has been filthy and red dirt all over it since hunting season started...here's my truck when it was clean...yeah its a repeat pic, but I think it looks great...hahaha!
  16. yep...that's it...except when it happens to me, I am wearing my seat belt...I will unbuckle and then buckle it back , but that doesn't seem to help...good times.
  17. Every time I have taken my vehicles in to a dealership and the 'check something' light wasn't one, they would say they couldn't repeat the issue...so I am not going to take it in just for the random beeps...However, I do have my check engine light on, which I believe is a bad injector due to the code and other items I've addressed...so I will ask and see what they say about it.
  18. so mine is a 16...i would have hoped they could have worked the majority of these bugs out by then...I have been a loyal chevy guy for years...and only time will tell, but this is my nicest truck i have had, but it is also the truck i have the least amount of confidence in going long term...i feel the electronics could crap out at any time... hope not though...
  19. Good morning...as I started my truck this morning all seemed to be fine...and then I started getting an alert tone of some kind...it almost sounded like the seat belt tone (but nothing flashing on the dash info center). So I unclicked and clicked my seat belt...still the tone would beep every couple seconds...I thought this was going to be a long drive to work...but by the time I got out of my neighborhood, it stopped beeping... This isn't the first time this has happened...but didn't think much of it last time...did a search on the forum, and I couldn't really find much...any help is appreciated.
  20. preparing for the winter I see...get rid of the tent...put on the topper, nice!
  21. to each their own. I was just stating facts.
  22. 2" still has a slight rake...
  23. if you get one of those car plug in car ozone generators, that is about the only thing I have known to actually work on something that has really permeated the leather/cloth materials...
  24. I have a RC 2" front level, stock rear...I also put BFG KO2 285/65 on my stock 18" rims and for me, it is all I need and the look I wanted...no rubbing. you can scroll though this thread though and find dozens and dozens of opinions.
