Its a paint protection film so its a bit more expensive then the vinyl. Got it done for $5000 (originally quoted $6500, I talked them down. Other quotes I got ranged from $7k-$12k!!!). Took the installer 5 business days.
Went with the PPF because it protects against damage caused by rocks, salt, insects, and other road debris, etc, better then vinyl. Vinyl is purely cosmetic, no paint protection characteristics.
Suntek film comes in clear and matte. Went with matte because I love flat black! Turns any glossy paint and covers it and makes the paint look matte. So if I ever decide to remove the film, I can always go back to gloss. Might get it done on my silver car. I also had them put some clear film on the headlights, fog lights and tail lights, to help protect them from damage and fading. Also clear on the door sills to prevent scratches from my dogs or people getting in and out. I am OCD lol.
Hope that helps.
Check out Suntek's site. Watch the video of them taking a wire brush to the film on the car and it self heals.
