I was originally going to install it in the console but this turned out to be the perfect spot for easily reaching it.

? I think I have it figured out so the seat can go all the way back. I'm gonna mock it up tomorrow. Btw, I forgot to call you but will tomorrow if you're gonna be available. Slowly but surely getting there. I installed the PAC universal bass level controller (I don't care for how the knob doesn't match the others well so I need to find a new one) and now laying out to drill holes for the wiring.

What have you done to your K2 today?
Marv88 replied to block8head's topic in Modifications & Accessories
Built yet another sub enclosure for my regular cab with an extension to mount the amp as well as crossovers and hopefully its the last one so I can finally get this system done! This one is built from a 13mm/18mm Baltic Birch combo so I could recess the sub and I lost a couple of clicks on the passenger side seat but I still have easy access to the jack (I'll make a bracket to mount the tools on the other side). BTW, if anybody is interested in a sub enclosure for their regular cab I have several available! -
I'm going to cut away the center section behind the amp to run the wires underneath and I always use rubber bushings when I mount the amp like this so I should have good airflow.

I think so as well and I'm gonna have it sprayed in bedliner asap to hopefully keep from changing my mind again!

Man my OCD is working overtime lately! After more thought I realized that if I ever did want to put a console back in I would have to redo the entire system so I built yet another enclosure with a little extension for the amp and possibly the crossovers. This one is built from a combination of 13mm and 18mm Baltic birch so I could recess the sub and fits behind the passenger seat. I still have access to the jack, Im going to make a bracket with a stud to mount the tools on the other side and I gave up about 2 clicks on the passenger seat but I dont sit on that side so I'm not gonna worry about it! BTW, if anyone with a 14-18 regular cab wants to buy the previously posted enclosure (built to specs for an Alpine SWR-8" Type R sub but others will work in that airspace) or any of the JL 10TW3 enclosures I posted a while back I'll make you a good deal! Ill be posting them on my Instagram here tonight. https://www.instagram.com/mrmarvsplace/?hl=en g

What have you done to your K2 today?

Thanks! I was just going to cut the pipe back a couple of inches to move the tip in a bit but I agree that looks much cleaner! -

That looks great! I decided against an exhaust as I'm really liking how quiet this truck is inside but I don't like the look of that tip sticking out so far behind the tire so I know what my next mod is going to be! It's hard to see on my phone but it appears you cut the pipe just before the bend and the tip is a bit inside the body(?) -
@Nasty Did you get a chance to send the seatbelt? (my message app is acting up again so I'm still not getting all of my messages nor are others getting all of mine). I'm gonna try to get the rest of the wiring done tonight and will need that so I can put it all back together and leave it alone!

Do you care about easy access to the jack? If not I can extend it both ways for the airspace and have the port come out on the passenger side while still allowing the seats to go all the way back.

Thanks! I'm working on something similar for you to fit 2 of those sundowns ported. Since you have the console now I have a little more room to work with.

What have you done to your K2 today?
Marv88 replied to block8head's topic in Modifications & Accessories
Thanks! Being a cabinetmaker by trade and also building custom sub enclosures on the side helps but it took me 5 or 6 different designs to finally come up with something I really liked! https://www.instagram.com/mrmarvsplace/?hl=en -

Bolts to the stud for the tire tools and I realized if I put a bolt in the top I can mount the tools there using the factory hardware. I'll probably have it Rhino Lined or possibly have it upholstered in leather to match the jump seat. -

Built yet another sub enclosure for my regular cab that fits behind the jump seat firing up. With this design I have full use of the jump seat, the seats still slide all the way back and it doesn't take up much of the already limited usable storage space behind the seats. I was also able to keep the center seat belt as well as rear wall carpet and insulation. -
Just realized I could install a bolt in the top of the enclosure and mount the tire tools there using the factory hardware.

After much contemplation I decided I don't need as much bass as I used to so I'm going with a single 8" sub and I'm going to keep the jump seat just in case. I also wanted to keep as much storage space behind the seats as possible for my dog supplies/tie down straps etc so I started to build another smaller console enclosure in front of the jump seat. Half way through that I decided that space would be better untilized for a console to store other small things since the amp is going in the lower jump seat compartment so I went back to the drawing board. After 5 or 6 designs this is what I came up with to suit all of my objectives. It fits behind the jump seat firing up, allows full function of the jump seat, clears the seat belt mechanism, allows the seats to go all the way back and allowed me to keep the factory back wall carpet as well as insulation. The only alteration I had to make was removing the tire tools and I will use the stud to secure the enclosure as well as add a bracket on the end bolted to the seat belt mechanism stud. Not sure I want to just carpet this so I may have it Rhino Lined or upholstered in leather to match the jump seat. I'll get some pictures of it installed in the daylight tomorrow.

What have you done to your K2 today?
Marv88 replied to block8head's topic in Modifications & Accessories
I had the gap when I first put mine in and when I pulled it back out to see why it wouldn't seat I found this clip from the original one was stuck in the slot. Pulled it out with some needle nose pliers and the new one popped right in with no gap. -
Thanks! I haven't had time to do much on the audio lately but I'll update as soon as I get it done.
