  1. Anyone have an idea on how to verify if I have the latest version?
  2. Its funny, if you go to the official site the picture they show is an SD card not a USB but that could be just old and not updated. Will let you all know. Is there a place I can see the current map update to see if I am going forward or backward?
  3. Well I found on Amazon where I can get it for less than $40. Its just a sim card. There is not a 2025 update yet just the 2024. I will try this. UPDATE: the SD card works and is recognized but it seems to be NOT the latest version of maps. Looking at the version info in the app, it appears to be the same as my 2022 version. Will have to return the update.
  4. Mine is a 2021. I usually update every 2 years. Wife relies on it as she does not like to use her phone. I have a Garmin 890 I use when camper is connected.
  5. Is there a place to get the update cheaper than the $149 on the GM site. I used to get an email with $99 deal but have not seen that in a few years. IMHO it should not be that pricey. $50 is reasonable.
  6. How many miles is everyone getting on the factory tires? I have 23K right now and dont think they will make it to 30K. I have used Cooper At3 on previous truck so will probably go with that as I pull a 12K 5th wheel and occasionally get into some muddy conditions and of course snow in upstate NY.
  7. This just out recently. Good news for all: 2020-2023 GM Silverado/Sierra 2500/3500 Truck 6.6L L8T Gas tuning has arrived! DiabloSport has combined their industry exclusive Locksmith device with the required ECM harness, and developed tunes specific to the L8T 6.6L Gas applications. The provided preloaded/preset tunes have shown gains of 28 RWHP and 50 RWTQ over stock, on good 93 octane gas! These are huge gains, that you'll feel when you stomp the go pedal! You can also adjust throttle response, tire size, speed limiter and more! For those that want numbers thats 429 HP and 514 RWTQ!!! on 93 octane
  8. I will wait till someone posts a youTube video on how to do it. Mine runs about 205 when towing my 12K 5th wheel.
  9. I know most people hate them and black them out but I would be interested in making the GMC letters stand out from the background by either a light smoke with the GMC letters cut out of a filtered paper over the GMC letters to make them a different color. Has anyone done this or know it there is a product out there?
  10. Search this forum as there is a whole write up on moving the camera port to the bed. Pretty easy really except you have to purchase 2 extender cables for camera that they even give you part number and where to get. I did it and its very nice. Its along the level of the invisible trailer option not working for 5th wheels with the earlier models. Cant make it work on my '21 but heard its fixed on the '24s
  11. I have plow option but be aware that it also includes the striffer front springs which does affect the ride somewhat. I did get the dual batteries also.Harness was included with the option.
  12. I dont have it hooked up right now so cant answer that. I have an Andersen hitch so its supposed to be over the rear axle. If its not then its close. I see your thinking that if its too far behind it will offset the load on the front. The only way I could change that location would be an offset ball for my bed mount.
  13. It's not the fact that I have too much squat ,its that the front end being so stiff it lifts a little when trailer is loaded. I have about 2" or less of rear end squat. I have sumo springs and Bilstein shocks on the rear. My trailer pin weight is about 2500lbs. Maybe my best answer is to get the lighter torsion bars for the front or start pigging out and put on 200lbs!
  14. Wow, 78 views and no answers. Guess I have a tough one.
  15. I have a '21 GMC 3500. It has the "snow plow" front suspension. So when I am towing the front end stays a little high. Can the torsion bars be adjusted to drop the front end by maybe 1/2 inch so that I may be more level when towing. I know an option would be going to a lighter bar but that is an expensive option. I don't mind if I have a little rake on the truck when not towing. So is there room to adjust? I know some crank them up for tire clearance. So will bringing them down accomplish my goal?
  16. You might try someone with a 3d printer. I have the rear pocket covers but never saw anything for the front.
  17. Just as the title states, when I get in the truck and start it up I get the message :"please supply password to continue to use connected services" I can hit the remind me later button but this is getting annoying as it pops back up. So which login is it referring to??
  18. I may have to try another dealer. My last towing outing the temps got to 225 degrees. Yes it cooled down once I hit the downhill but that is crazy hot. This is in PA mountains towing a 12K 5th wheel. I will try the other dealer in the area and if not then i will do it myself. It is just an externa module that bolts on, correct? Other problem is if you lose any fluid, do we not have a dipstick tube to refill? Have not really looked round the engine bay.
  19. I have the orange version too and experienced the same thing. Works well for the truck but did not work on my dual axel trailer. Went to use the unit the other day and I hear rattling as I am carrying to the truck and no lights. Open up the battery compartment and both battery contacts have become disconnected from the board. Must have been cold solider joints. So I opened up the unit and resoldered the contacts and all is well. Strange that this happened over the winter????
  20. This is what I came across. A little pricey but time will tell what gains we can get. https://www.hptuners.com/articles/hp-tuners-continues-to-grow-gm-tuning-support-with-exclusive-e93-ecm-services/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=hp-tuners-continues-to-grow-gm-tuning-support-with-exclusive-e93-ecm-services
  21. The 6.6 L8T has been out for over 3 years now and aside from cold air intakes, exhaust or pedal commanders there is no aftermarket to up the horsepower. Now I am not talking turbo or supercharger but maybe better intake, larger throttle body, cam or programer. GM really locked this one up. Its frustrating for us people wanting to add just a little on a budget. Am I wrong or is there more out there than I think? I also would of expected with the 10 speed trans a bump in engine output. Get us to 450hp and 500tq please.
  22. So to answer the other question of what it does, its part of the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) system. All motors create pressure in the motor down where the oil sits and crank is moving. This pressure makes its way into the valve area. Older engines just used a filter atop the valve cover and vented vapors to the air. Well the EPA does not like this so the PCV was invented and it routes the vapor back into the intake manifold via a oneway valve (PCV)to be burned. So the vapor contains oil and water vapors. These vapors if in too much quantity can coat the intake manifold and are sucked into the engine to be reburned. The will coat anything in the path usually injectors or plugs. Since the plugs fire hot, they kind of self clean but not the injectors. So a catch can is installed inline between the valve cover and intake. It has a screen filter which traps the oil and water which cools and pools up in the can instead of getting sucked back into the engine. Is it 100% effective? No but it helps. So it "catches" the oil and water vapors. It will have a removable bottom can or valve that you empty as often as needed. Now I am not an expert and may have some info wrong but that is the gist of how and why its needed. Hope it help those who asked. I used one on my 2009 G8 and it was helpful keeping the intake cleaner.
  23. BTW the parking brake will stay engaged if you are on a incline. Only way to release it is to give it some gas. This is designed this way to stop rollback when on the incline. Mine also engages automatically if an incline is sensed. Don't know how much but will check the inclinometer next time I get into that situation.
  24. So how do I get my dealer to put the lower T stat in? I asked about it and he blew me off. I told him the trans temp goes to 215 when towing and 195 when not. He said as long as it stays under 245 I am good.
