  1. Cast aluminum/stamped steel my truck came with aluminum but I actually had one replaced on warranty due to a clunk in the front end and they replace it with a stamped steel one so apparently they are interchangeable. Anyway I would be looking at Belltech 2514’s. That thin ball joint but is almost scary small!
  2. Good to hear thanks guys, might have to get a set of spindles and get her sitting a little lower! I know they say they clear 17’s but anyone put some 17’s on after spindles to confirm? My winter wheels/tires are 17’s.
  3. Anyone lower then 2/5 on stock size tires without getting a bunch of rubbing? Im considering adding spindles and going to 3/6 or 4/6 but im running 285/45/22 on 22x9.5 +24mm wheels, and i would rather stay at my current drop then go to a smaller tire. My current drop is 2/5 (Belltech shocks/flip kit) right now and have no rubbing, but its definitely close to the fender liner on the front.. also anyone having issues with 4x4 on a 4/6 drop, that needs to work with our winters here! haha
  4. Looks awesome, what spindles are you going with? I also have the 2" drop shocks on the front of my 4x4 and would like to get it down another inch atleast but its hard to figure out what spindles i can use the the 4x4. Mcgaughys seems to show I would need control arms as well, not really wanting to spend $1000+ just to lower it a little more haha
  5. Looks great! love the blue/black combo, what size tires are you running? Im guessing they are smaller then stock diameter?
  6. thanks for the update! sounds like a pain in the ass i guess i will see if i can find any other spindles that will work with a 4x4 and aluminum front end, or just leave at my current 2" drop i guess
  7. Thanks, Do you know what part number your spindles are? What style control arms are on your truck? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Don't you loose turning radius with most spindles? Thats something im not something to sacrifice. I was trying to look at mcgaughys spindles but as far as i can tell their spindles (34050) are for 2wd/steel control arms? Mine is a 4x4 with aluminum arms/spindles. The only setup on their site that i can see for a 14 4x4 requires upper control arms as weill (34204), if thats the only option i guess its staying at a 2 inch drop, not worth $1200 to drop an extra inch.. Any other options that im missing?
  9. Mine is Aluminum, currently I am lowered 2" in the front with Belltech struts, rides great, no alignment issues, the only time i get a bit of a rub is in reverse at full lock, and its just rubbing on my mud flaps so not too concerned i should really find some new ones since these sit an inch off the ground now that its lowered haha. If you are looking to drop 2" or less the struts are a great option imo, I kind of want to go a little lower now I have been considering some DJM 2" control arms and going back up a little with the shocks for around 3-3.5" total in the front and then I would drop the back from 5 to 6. Decisions..
  10. Has anyone retrofired any of the aftermarket housings? would they have the same mounting locations as the stock lights so that could use say FXR swap brackets? I was going to retrofit my stock lights but i would really like to black them out and would rather just buy new ones instead of trying to remove the lenses on my stock ones to paint them I was kind of eyeing up these ones: https://www.ebay.com/itm/FOR-2014-2016-GMC-SIERRA-PICKUP-BLACK-HOUSING-AMBER-CORNER-PROJECTOR-HEADLIGHTS/202122435926?hash=item2f0f6f9d56:g:O0UAAOSwzppaFi-I&vxp=mtr
  11. Good to hear, I was very impressed by the ride when i swapped mine
  12. Bell tech street performance 25004
  13. What kit do you have, looks like stock shackle? that looks like you are already at the 5” setting at least on mine. Moving up to the next hole should drop you another inch either way
  14. Thanks, I went with Belltech 5/6 flip kit set to 5” rear ahocks are BELLTECH 2210FF, if you are still running stock shocks I highly recommend swapping them out, my truck rides so much better with the belltechs Front and back
  15. Couldn't resist any longer, it needed to be lower.. Im now at 2" front 5" rear drop, sits perfect, and the belltech shocks/struts ride 1000x better then the stock racho's just in time for winter, had to put the winter wheels on this weekend
  16. Do I have this right flip kit only is 7", flip kit and hanger (stock shackle) 5/6", flip kit hanger and drop shackle 3/4"? I'm thinking I want to be around 4", possibly 5. Love my truck too, are the uca's a common problem on these? I just had one replaced on mine under warranty a couple days before putting in the drop shocks haha
  17. Looks great! Would love mine to sit like that but might need to stay a little higher, we can get a lot of snow here that's why I wanted a 4x4 haha Anyone have a recommendation on a flip kit, or are they all pretty similar? Looks like I can get the belltech one a bit cheaper then mcgaughys, but I don't mind paying more for quality products if it's worth it.
  18. Thanks for the info, I'm thinking 4 or 5 inches is where I would like to be That's good to hear, with the belltech's in the front only right now, the front feels so much better, the back feels terrible, I really have to change them out.
  19. For some reason I was under the impression the rear mount the shackle bolts too also had to bet cut off, I'll have to look into it further, I just want to be able to easily go back to stock if need be.
  20. I ended up putting in a set of Belltech struts in the front of my truck, so im sitting at 2" drop in the front and a little over 3" in the back with shackles and blocks removed from the back. It still sits a bit high for my liking in the back, but it sounds like to go any lower I would need to go to a flip kit, havent decided yet if i want to do that, don't really like the idea of cutting on such a new vehicle, do any kits require less cutting then others? I really only want to go down another inch or so.. And any recomendations on rear shocks for a regular cab? I hear a lot of people say everything is designed for the heavier crew cabs and ride rough on the regular cabs, the front belltech rides much better then the stock rancho's, was thinking of going with the belltech street performance 2212FF. anyway hers a pic of how it sits now
  21. Ya http://www.belltech.com/belltech-14-up-chevrolet-silverado-sierra-2-to-2-25004.html With those would I have alignment issues, and if so I was thinking a set of these would be what I need http://www.belltech.com/belltech-99-17-chevrolet-silverado-sierra-c1500-2wd-4wd-front-camber-bushings-4955.html
  22. I was leaning more towards the Belltech 2" shocks, since i want to change shocks anyway. unless there is a significant down side
  23. Pics or it didn't happen! haha I think i have a plan of attack for my truck unless someone can tell me a better alternative I see lots of complaints about turning radius with drop spindles so my plan is Belltech 25004 2" drop shocks, and that way if i ever do want to go lower i could add spindles. the only issue i have read about with those is getting proper alignment but from what i can tell a set of Belltech 4955 bushings should get it where it needs to be. and for the back i think i am going to leave it with shackles and blocks removed for now, I have seen a few pics in this thread with guys with that setup and it looked good, then i think ill go with some Belltech 2212FF rear shocks, anything has got to be better the the stock rancho's Thoughts on going this route? anything im missing? Top pic is how it sits now, bottom is stock
  24. After reading through all 90+ pages my head hurts and I still can't make a decision. First off I have a 14 Sierra RCSB Z71 4x4, with 285/45/22 and currently have the back leveled out with 2" shackles and the factory blocks removed, after owning it for 2 weeks and having the shackles in for 1 week it needs to go lower already haha I am thinking I want to for about a 2/4 or 2/5 drop, now figuring out the best way to do that... I was considering going with Beltech 25004 2" shocks in the front and either DJM or McGaughys 4 or 5" flip kit in the back. I might even try just the shocks first and see how it looks with my current rear setup, will have a couple inches of time but that's better then the 4+ it had before.. My other option is flip kit, was looking at DJM, I believe I would use RK2507-6 and since I already have 2" shackles I think that would give me a 4 or 5 inch drop correct? Or would you recommend McGaughys flip kit over DJM? I was having a hard time finding the right part number on their site tho. And for the back I haven't decided on a shock, I see rcsb guys saying the beltech is too stiff on our short trucks. Other question do all flip kits require cutting off the bump stop mount? Cutting on my new truck with 9k miles makes me cringe a little but I'm sure I could get over it haha So basically just looking for recommendations, I have been reading for days and I just want to order stuff so I can get to work on it! Sorry for the Wall of text! Haha
