  1. RadoPhan, as requested. Note my truck is an AT4 with the Rough Country 2" leveling kit. The other guy in the linked thread below is also running a leveling kit WITH the RL upper arms. It should be apples-to apples comparison between our trucks. FWIW, just physically eyeballing/looking at the OEM vs RL upper arms side -by-side show the OEM arms offer more clearance. FWIW, I read this same info on a number of different forums.
  2. No issue with handicapped folks, I just don't understand handicapped steps being installed on trucks that take away from the ground clearance and get ripped off the first time you get hung up on even a medium sized rock. Hell they did away with "running boards" on cars back in the 30's or 40's. I guess they're fine for trucks who serve only as mall crawlers...
  3. Note, the Ready Lift upper control arms provide LESS clearance than the OEM upper arms. There's a couple posts on here depicting the loss of clearance with pictures and measurements.
  4. Put it in neutral and set the Parking Brake. Truck will run until the tank is empty.
  5. Sounds like you drive like my 84 year old mother. My OEM Goodyear DuraTrac's are near bald and need replacing at 22k miles. I've run BTF ATs for decades and have NEVER gotten 25k out of a set. Granted, I drive in a more spirited manner than most.
  6. The N-Fab are great as they actually provide protection to the rockers and do not look like the atrocious handicapped steps most are putting on their truck. The N-Fab also come without those stupid handicapped steps. You can buy the handicapped steps for the N-Fab bars for additional money but they screw up your ground clearance. The N-Fab handicapped steps just bolt on to the rocker protectors. I've had the N-Fab on my JL Wrangler for nearly 1.5 years and they've held up great to repeated abuse from rocks, big rocks.
  7. My AT4 has numerous USB connection ports. Couldn't your wife just plug into one you're not using? Are all the USB ports capable of charging?
  8. I'm curious why someone would go to this much effort and expense instead of just charging by plugging the phone into a USB port which you need to do anyway to use Apple CarPlay? I truly realize some will do it just because it's cool and they want to regardless of what I consider to be a very expensive mod FOR WHAT YOU GET. I'm not trolling but am truly curious as it just seems unnecessary but I must be missing something. I'm hoping someone will educate me.
  9. My understanding of DFM is that it cannot be disabled without purchasing a device such as Range Technology's OBDII plug in. Is there a way to monitor the state of DFM via a setting in the DIC? I'd like to be able to visually see what is happening and when DFM is active and how many cylinders are running. I read my manual and can't see a setting for this. Am I missing something? Please note, I'm wanting to visually monitor what DFM is doing on a STOCK truck, not one with a DFM device disabling device.
  10. Interesting response by dealer. My dealer said no problem, just tell us when you want us to order you new ones. They didn't need factory approval. I'm waiting to replace as I doubt the GM supplier has done anything to remedy the problem so I'd rather wait till near end of warranty to replace.
  11. I KNEW you wouldn't be able to let it go. FWIW, I'm well aware of what I typed in that post as I'm the one who typed it. My point is in this thread I NEVER mentioned anything or typed the word Corvette. You somehow brought my ownership of a different car into the conversation to make some kind of correlation and then called me names for owning such a car. I'm still puzzled by what car I own has to do with the topic currently being discussed. Somehow you thought an unrelated post had relevance to this topic. Whatever, enjoy your rocket ship as I'll be enjoying my real rocket ship!? I wonder if you'll go back and research other prior postings to identify the numerous other cars I own despite the fact that they also have nothing to do with the current conversation.
  12. Apology accepted.
  13. Where did I state I own a Corvette? What makes you think I'm lost in Corvette heaven. Again, I never mentioned the word Corvette in ANY of my posts to this thread. Seems like you really have a hard on for this Corvette thing just because there is a picture of a Corvette as my Avatar. If I had a picture of Too bad we can't have a little friendly banter without you taking it personnel. I, nor anyone else that disagrees with you, resorted to childish name calling. We're just having a fun back and forth discussion and you resort to name calling. You've called me and others who disagree with you the following names instead of just having fun with the conversation/argument and letting facts support your position: - Little fella - Mr. Sarcastic - Buckwheat - Mr. Highroller - Silly Little Boy You sir, are hard to figure out... You might take a deep breath, relax and have a little fun. Life doesn't have to be so miserable.
  14. Umm, read my posts. NEVER did I use the word Corvette. I fail to comprehend why you brought a Corvette into the conversation. Bottom line is Stillen DOES NOT even suggest there is a performance gain with their product and as such, I think they're answering the OPs question themselves.
  15. Exactly the point I'm making. Dude is impressed that his new truck is "faster" than old, clapped out Camaro's and Mustang's or Impala's. Same way he's commenting on how fast his 06 Trailblazer SS was. I mean come on man, an 06 Trailblazer!?!? Priceless.
  16. All silliness aside, curiosity got the better of me. I went to the Stillen site and was really surprised at what I read. Are you aware that Sillen DOES NOT MAKE A SINGLE STATEMENT suggesting you will see ANY performance improvement with their "scoop". I was amazed. Typically, people hawking stuff like this will make unsubstantiated (i.e., non dyno) qualitative claims of performance gains. This is VERY telling. If a bolt on accessory provides ANY performance gain the seller of the accessory will generally make mention of the gain. Even if it's a BS statement along the lines of "seat of the pants gains are felt", the makers/sellers of these accessories will play it up. Accessories that truly provide improved performance will post quantitative data and substantiate their claim with dyno pulls, which even there are often quite misleading. So, going by what Stillen says, or rather doesn't say, a performance improvement is not realized with this scoop. https://stillen.com/collections/intake/products/2019-2020-chevy-silverado-trupower-by-stillen-cold-air-intake-scoop-tp403501
  17. TNTSilverado, I see you got yourself one of them thar' rocket ship race pickups! You must have gotten a factory unicorn as the power to weight ratio on these large bricks, even with the 6.2L aren't generally considered exciting. I imagine you also have straight pipes on it to make it even faster AND louder? Regarding performance and your comment that any performance gain, even if it's minimal is better than nothing is inconsistent with performance minded individuals. You really need to consider the price you're paying for increased performance. Installing a $3,000 thingamajig that results in a 4 hp/5 LB-FT gain on a 4,500 lb vehicle with 420HP/460lb-ft stock is a waste of money and effort. Remember, as ludicrous as the example offered is, you're the one that said "any" gain... Seeing you get your thrills street racing teenagers in clapped out Mustangs and family hauler SUV's against your rocket ship people movers loaded with passengers I can appreciate your lack of understanding of the concept I subscribe. Also, in terms of performance vehicles your 6.2L pickup truck is boring. Beating a "tuned" Impala SS does little to get my juices flowing. If you're 16 to 18 years old that would explain the position you espouse. Go get em' tiger!
  18. Guys, I imagine I'll take heat for this but bolt on components like this on a big brick of a pig truck like we have are exercises in futility. You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. There is VERY MINIMAL performance gains from nonsense like this. It's a damn pickup with a boring engine(s). They're not made to perform as some are hoping.... Flame suit on.
  19. I despise the fact that 99% of the vehicles on the road are just so DAMN boring. I feel like I'm living in a monochromatic world of boring people. The world and our nations highways and byways need more vehicles that POP with loud, bright and emotion generating colors. I can't stand the constant parade of nearly ALL vehicles that are either: 1. White 2. Black 3. Silver/Gray I realize it's not a truck but here's my prior car that I think was stunning in yellow/black. My current one as depicted in my avatar is red as I can't stand the dull, pastel and matte looking "Racing Yellow" they offered when I bought the red one. My C8 Z06 will be ordered in black but I'll have it wrapped in Kawasaki MX racing green the day I take delivery. Similar to the green one depicted below. The last pic is a full on picture of my current red/black car. I be lovin' me some POP!!! LIFE IS TOO SHORT FOR BORING COLORS/CARS/TRUCKS!!! And yes, I'm a bit of a hypocrite in that my daily driver is a black AT4. IMHO, it was the best looking color offered on the AT4
  20. You might consider the fact that gas is damn near free at current pricing so the minimal $ differential is negligible for many. Your savings would be pennies....
  21. Yeah, welcome to the digital age. I'm an analog guy living in a digital world...
  22. As I doubt GM did anything with their supplier to resolve the issue I'll let them peel until my warranty is nearly expired and have a new set installed then. At least this will extend the life of them before the "new" set starts to peel. FWIW, my dealer informed me this is a known issue as they've already replaced a number of sets. I believe there aren't enough people experiencing a problem for GM to take any action. It's cheaper for them to just replace them as they show up in the service drive.
  23. Piece of garbage infotainment system. I've done every "trick" suggested to resolve this password issue to no avail. The "Do Not Remind Me Feature" doesn't work. My radio intermittently outputs/plays music from two different sources at the same time. It shouldn't be this hard to get a functioning radio. I'm getting a new one installed Friday under warranty but I SERIOUSLY doubt any changes have been made to improve it over my current radio. Just absolute garbage.
