  1. GM has been doing this since at least 2007 with half tons and it's on the HD's now. Nothing wrong with running the battery at rated voltage. It's nothing new.
  2. Speed Engineering.
  3. You can't really over-rev them lol. Mine routinely turns 6000 rpm with the stock cam..... with the 216/226 on a 114 LSA I am stabbing in the heap it will probably get bumped to 6500 lol.
  4. My 09's LY6 ate a lobe off the cam after a lifter destroyed it... A bunch of the other lobes were all buggered too. Truck had like 58000 miles... stuff happens.
  5. Just ignore like I said originally. It works better.
  6. Tune the truck which you need to do anyhow and no you won't... a person can shut the rear O2 codes forever.
  7. You won't lose anything with duals. Honestly run what you want and ignore 90% of the rubbish on the internet. I have 3" duals on mine and gained everywhere including right off the bottom... kind of goes against most internet wizards that not surprisingly can't change their own oil in real life but know every old myth online lol.
  8. What do you want to do for exhaust behind them? You can hook the stock forward O2s and wiring up into them as is.
  9. The cam isn't that small for one thing and if you don't want to rev it.. well.. buy a diesel. Using my own truck the bottom end was pretty substantial... went from a truck that couldn't squeak a tire to being able to light them with ease. I didn't dyno it because I don't give a damn lol. Truck was tuned prior so it's a pretty good comparison. And that was 1 7/8" prmaries feeding 3" duals. You need to actually to do some mods man... not just complain about your trucks. The Ford you buy will be the same thing.. and Ford's are bullshit to buy parts for.. or tune... or anything. I had 2 6.2 Fords trucks and went down that road to the point of heads and cams.
  10. 15 to 20 whp if you have a good catback already.....totally stock and moving up to something better catback wise could net 25 depending on the stock junk. Pretty good gain for something that has a zero affect on the vehicles drivablilty.
  11. No use the truck headers. Not the car stuff.
  12. Tune yes ... cam no... You ever even do headers on a 6 liter there Jim Bob lol. The pickup with long tubes is pretty substantial with the stock cam. But to answer well you have a few choices. If you want to throw down like $1600 plus dollars you can buy some American Racing long tubes which personally I think are a waste of money. They will however come with a connection tube that "should" bolt on. On the other hand you have Speed Engineering and TSP that both offer headers for the 1/2 ton 6.2 trucks 07 and up and they fit in this 2011+ chassis. I can't say if the 3.5" Y pipe will work without modification but for a T304 stainless long tube with 3/8" flanges and fit without modification for a 1/4 of the ARH..... I would take that and mod the Y pipe if need be. I run the 1 7/8" primary Speed Engineering long tubes on my other truck and they are a good bang for the buck.
  13. Missed this one lol. Alright 2 months late here but whatever lol. The truck was a fleet order for a small company that either folded or decided not to take it or whatever. So it's a Stone Blue Metallic SLE Z71 6 liter with dual full power heated cloth buckets, flow through console and wireless charging. Has Bose with the sub in the console, power pedals, homelink, remote start, power rear slider. Then it gets weirder..... truck has manual climate control, not digital dual zone like you would expect. The truck does not have fog lights even as a higher trimmed SLE. It also has no back up sensors in the bumper but does have a rear camera. It also has the factory spray in liner, under rail LED lights in the bed and the factory fifth wheel prep pack with the plastic covered holes in the box...... but was downgraded tow rating wise to 9700 lbs maximum with 3.73 gears. Came originally with the 18's I can't stand so I swapped to the grey background 20's. My biggest complaint is remembering to set the climate control when I get out of it at night if it's somewhere outside. It will turn on the heated seats when it's cold automatically but just blows whatever temp air wherever you left it lol. Been more than once where after 20 minutes of run time the windshield is still frozen because I forgot to set it to heat and defrost lol. The gearing is being fixed with 4.56 and I don't really care about foglights. I like it... my biggest thing was a console equipped truck with bose and cloth... this fit the bill.
  14. Throttle actuator control. It's the brains of your throttle circuit and also handles cruise control. It's a box on the firewall right beside the brake booster. For tests.. just swap it with a known working one for simplicity.
  15. Here is my bucket of bolts. It's a 2017 2500HD gas pot..... and probably about the weirdest optioned SLE ever made. I'm good with it though!
  16. You won't have an IAC as your truck is drive by wire. Has anyone paid attention or swapped the TAC module on the firewall? It's the communication link between the pedal and the throttle body. Otherwise something has to be loading the truck somewhere.
  17. Wrong... it's just the under dash modules... the actual dash mounted hmi does not change. It's not a cheap thing to do but I did it on the sole fact the older 8" screen Is pretty useless otherwise lol.
  18. More or less any truck with the 8" screen in 2016 onward (some 16s were without) have android auto or Apple car play regardless of factory nav.. in fact given the choice I would just get like my 17 has.. no navigation... but of course thanks to the apps I have android auto running Google map on my trucks screen with turn by turn anytime. I even added the IO6 to my 2014 Impalas screen so I now have ACP or AA on it now too... unfortunately I had to add nav too but oh well lol.
  19. The long block is identical between the two..... one can be used to replace the other donning the appropriate covers, oil pan, accessories, intake and exhaust manifolds. Yes the Vette can have dry sump oiling but it also comes wet like the trucks.
  20. You will find it tough to find someone who will spec you a usable cam in a pulling truck... most want to spec you something with massive lift and duration numbers you don't need... then try and get the idle back with a stupid wide LSA. I really don't know who has he best cam choice guy... I just spec my own lol.
  21. As I say... most HD trucks with gas engines are fleet customers. If GM makes their truck more expensive to run and maintain then those guys buy something else that isn't.
  22. Well that wouldn't be very manly now would it lol. Looks mean more when you have no fuel economy standards to shoot towards lol.
  23. The LY6 had VVT since 2007.... also when they went to the GMT900 body and the 6L90E trans. The L96 came out in 2010 and it's the same engine with larger injectors accommodating flexfuel capability. The 4.10 gears don't kill the trucks ability for fuel economy, but rather the weight and aerodynamics similar to that of a brick do.
  24. My 05 is at 6300 hours at around 190000 miles.
