  1. Pulled the plugs and tail lights on my 2013 when I bought it in February of this year. Super low mile Saskatchewan truck and it was a nice surprise that although dirt had collected in between the skins there was no rust at all. Blew it out with the pressure washer, let it dry and filled it with fluid film. Now I will do that ritual twice a year with the truck. I also did the doors and rockers on the cab in similar fashion.
  2. Lol. No I don't drive one at work and everything I own is GM. If I wanted a Trailboss I would get the LT... and wait to get a 6.2. Owned a 2015 Tundra years back.. what a pile of junk lol.
  3. Nobody seems to understand... a custom trailboss is literally a prettied up W/T. It's a base model optionless truck with nothing for amenities. So yes price wise its attractive because you get nothing for the dollar but the looks on the exterior. At work we get Custom Trailbosses or more basic SLE Gmcs. Everyone likes how the Trailboss looks but nobody wants to drive them if they have a choice. Between the lack of interior storage and totally optionless dash the Trailboss has the SLE is a way nicer truck. The gmcs they get are about 5 grand higher sticker price and I won't doubt they will stop with the Trailboss as nobody likes them in the fleet. The Custom Trailboss is a complete downgrade from the 18 and older Gms they run along with the F150s they can get... but hey.. it has a higher stance, faux dual exhaust and snazzy red tow hooks.
  4. The field got one Trailboss and in its first 200 miles on the odometer it hit a muddy day and went all kinds of stupid. Pretty well every light and warning message came on. They washed it and kept running it but I know its booked in for whatever..I will see next shift what gm does to it.
  5. Trucks are utter insanity up here... pulled my buddies window sticker out on his 2014 LT today... was like 46400. It's a leather heated seat digital climate, command start truck. Same thing new stickers closer to 60k... like get bent. Even my 2017 2500HD which is a Bose, console, heated cloth SLE was 64500... a half ton today with the same options is that much or more. Enough is enough. The company's are already in pretty rough shape with everyone wanting to merge... gee.. maybe if your trucks didn't cost what a house does you would move more volume... lol. Go under for all I care at this point... and let the junk rot on the lot. Be a cold day in hell before I would pay 76k for some shitty GMC half ton. Some kid posted he paid 43k otd for a 19 Trailboss custom double cab.... cool... you paid 43k for a rubber mat zero option not even a storage compartment in the jumpseat w/t with duratracs, dual exhaust a leveling kit and red tow hooks... In the end of 2015 I paid 46k otd for a loaded double cab LTZ with a 6.2... so yeah nav heated and cooled seats, heated wheel, Bose, and blah blah... In 3.5 years you are accepting a truck that should be 30 grand at most for 43 grand... right.
  6. I think it's pretty cool but then liked the Ecoboost Fords too. That said it would be a lot cooler if GM didn't incorporate AFM into it. But I could get over the AFM on this this as it's not a pushrod design.... but that sliding intake cam.... yeah no.
  7. They are pieces of pipe that slide over the top studs of the shock between the shock and the bottom of the frame and space in downward. Some outfits make a pretty little block but it does the same thing. You will need new shock nuts as the OEM nuts are like an inch long and only threaded at the top so they don't engage. When we did new shocks on my buddies 2011 they came with new normal lock nuts so we cut the thread off the factory shock nuts and slid them over the studs creating our own spacers for free lol. Pull your shocks out, slide the spacer on the studs and reinstall. Voila.
  8. Gt5 is 4.10 gears and gt4 is 3.73... so if you have a 4x4 your gear ratios won't match rendering 4 wheel drive useless and the the speedo and shift points will be about 15% out because of the gear change. So.in short unless this is a 2wd truck and you want to tune it after...no.
  9. As I said many times already GM locks out the off function on their vehicles because it shuts off the DRLs on the US models which does not pass Canadian safety regulations. Auto headlamps as of now are not a requirement in Canada. You can get in a Tundra or F150 or whatever... and shut your lights off while driving..
  10. Its ambient controlled and the headlights are not on in the daylight. The sensor on the dash controls the headlights while in gear. You can override it in the daylight and manually turn the lights on and off on but that's it. If you drop a resistor in place of the ambient sensor of the correct resistance it will make the bcm think that it is always daylight out. Then you have full manual control of the headlights themselves.
  11. Gm has been that way for ages. My 04 and my 05 won't shut the lights off if it's dark out. You can't even shut either of those 2 trucks off in park either lol.
  12. You really have to read man!. I never said my truck does what the American model does. I have explained over and over and over why the US sold models are not compliant in Canada....and for the umpteenth time its because the US sold trucks headlight off position disables the DRLs as well which is not allowed in Canada! Gm is the only manufacturer who will not allow headlight off control and it's for the reason above. Where are you even getting my truck in the equation for the headlights.
  13. It will rotate but it's not functional unless you are in park to shut the lights off. Try it at night.
  14. Lol. Well my truck was ordered in Canada and is a flex fuel truck... like every other 6 liter HD lol. Your dealer could have gotten you thr flex fuel 5.3... it's a separate option and Rpo code lol. My headlights work exactly as the owners manual says too.. and the American version shuts the lights and drls off. Still waiting on that apology Bob.
  15. Guys use a resistor to fool the bcm into thinking it's always daylight. Then you have no auto function, drl's still work and you can turn the headlights on and off.
  16. Well considering my 2017 has a flex fuel decal in the fuel door and was ordered in Grande Prairie Alberta you can send me your apology right now. Since I tuned the truck myself I can tell you that the alcohol composition programming is all enabled... Furthermore maybe own a truck other than one built by Gm ( I have ) and I can turn the headlights off. Wrong on both counts. As I stated GM kills the drl function along with the headlights when using the off position on the American sold trucks. So allowing that to occur in Canada would not pass our safety standards and thus it is locked out. Jump in an F150... they have a functional off position in Canada. Auto headlights are not a federal mandate... As of September 2021 as it stands now auto headlights will be law in Canada... but that is not relevant today. Again... you can apologize and get your facts straight before spreading incorrect information.
  17. Where do people ge this info? So the E85 station in Calgary is illegal... or Vancouver lol. Come on.. the trucks here can run E85 just like anywhere else. I can run e85 through my 2017 all day every day if I want too lol. You just need the 5.3 optioned to run e85 just like down in the US.... Turning off your headlights in Canada is not illegal... turning off your daytime running lights is. Since GM is lazy you don't get an off switch on your headlights because GM kills both with the off switch... Buy a Ford, Ram, Toyota or whatever in Canada and you can turn off your headlights.... it has nothing to do with legality as far as the headlights... just daytime running lights.
  18. It is not a safety feature in Canada... it's GM and lazy programming. Drl's are standard in Canada and have been since 1990. Ever drive any other manufacturers vehicles other than a GM? Guessing not. You can shut the headlights off in any other companies vehicles except GM. My F150, Ram, Tundra and Titan had functioning off positions... my last GM truck that did was my 96 lol. Turning the lights off in the US shuts off rhe drls as well so it's why we cannot do it on GM vehicles in Canada. Take my 17... my headlights are not my daytime running lights... it's that goofy little led strip in the headlight. If those remained functional when off was selected we could do it too but they don't....
  19. What I find comical is the sign up for notifications thing. I actually inquired for both my 2013 and my 2017... well you can sign up for notifications under the 2014+ but according to the site you can order a BCM for my 2013 no issue...even though you cannot and thus there is no notifications lol. Oh well.
  20. I contacted them last week and posted their reply in the other thread which is exactly what I said. If you haven't spoke to them then you wouldn't know... So from March 19th.... We are not taking any BCM work at this time. Please sign up for the notifications under that product on the website if you're interested in that service. White Automotive & Media Services
  21. Whites is not tuning BCM's and has no ET on when they will be again either.
  22. Not even remotely.... you are now forcing air into the engine above that of atmospheric pressure... Desired afr is not the same on a blown truck as a one that's n/a. Spark advance would be too high. The fuel map and air map don't have infinity for adjustment... it's very little as there is a desired afr for every map reading and rpm. The ecm needs to see injector scaling to even run properly at idle so if you can change out the injectors on these dfm things with like an LT4 it wouldn't even idle lol. That's just a small tidbit... Bolt on a blower with no tuning and give it a whirl... be fun to see how long it lasts before a piston comes apart lol. Won't surprise me if tuning support just takes longer and longer to achieve until it ends completely. It's coming for these trucks.. just might take a few more months or a few years... who knows.
  23. OEM iridium's and 8.5 mm MSD's excepted on my boosted junk.
  24. No they dropped it to 60000 miles... costs too much for them to run it to 100000 miles lol. I don't like afm either so I stopped buying trucks so equipped. Life has been easy since haha.
