  1. I know that GM and Ford developed the 10 speed trans for these trucks and I don't know the similarities between brands and models. We leased a brand new Explorer late last year. It has less than 5K on it and it has been at the dealership for 3 weeks as of yesterday with the transmission ripped out of it and they are waiting on parts to put it back together. The new Explorers are RWD platforms unlike the previous generation and I assume they use the same 10 speed as an F-150 which can't be too dissimilar to GM's version. Ours developed a violent downshift after being above 45 mph, like turning into our subdivision from a 4 lane highway. It would also have random funky up shifts as well. I haven't talked to the mechanic yet to find out what happened. The service advisor hasn't a clue. I hope you get yours sorted out.
  2. I was thinking possibly the motor mounts too.
  3. Alex, your truck looks awesome with the wrap. I ordered my LTZ and at the time, I liked all the chrome, but 3 years later I wouldn't mind losing some of it. I'm going to have to look into this. I think my problem is going to be getting a color that matches well as mine is Siren Red.
  4. 2016 5.3 / 8 speed here. Sitting just north of 50K on the clock. No problems with mine. The dealership did a trans fluid flush last time I was there, only to keep my warranty in tact.
  5. It depreciated as soon as it was driven off the lot.
  6. That is the first Trail Boss I have seen in Black, and it looks really good. Good thing it is lifted a little bit considering you live near Pittsburgh. I know I certainly don't miss driving on those roads.
  7. I've read about some of the problems as well, but have not had any hiccups with my 2016 5.3/8 speed LTZ. I'm sitting at 43,xxx miles and the transmission has been flawless. That being said, I also have the piece of mind knowing the drivetrain in my truck has a lifetime warranty offered by my dealer.
  8. I will agree with everything that has been said concerning the older tractors, however, I bought a 50" Cub Cadet brand new in 2010, LTX1050KW. It has a Kawasaki engine instead of the Kohler and with the exception of one failed spindle bearing, the tractor has been maintenance free. I saw a couple guys had steering issues, I have not had any. I even plow snow with mine, or what little we usually get. It's been a solid machine for me and today's equivalent has a price just a shade under 2 grand. Just my 2 cents worth.
  9. No, not quite the same and the temperature definitely isn't the issue, though I'm sure it gets cool in Cali. We've had a rather ridiculous swing in the thermometer here as of late. 50's one day, then 3 days later wind chills of 5 to 10 below. Do you know of someone who would do it just to be funny? Touching another mans truck without permission should be punishable by law.
  10. My passenger side tow mirror occasionally flakes out and either doesn't fold when commanded to, or only folds partially. I've never had an issue with it unfolding though. Mine seems to do it only when it's cold outside from my observations. Thought about bringing it to the attention of my dealer next time through and hope it's covered under the extended warranty.
