  2. Tom, I think you are talking about something else. I have 8 years of connected access which was free. To make everything work, I have connected access, remote access and now connect plus for data to make things the dealer sold me on work. You lose speed limit sign feature and some google features without it. Its stupid. The phone can do all that through bluetooth but GM thinks they need to rip their customers off by adding what is really another layer of pay.
  3. I don't use Apple so no carplay for me. Besides he is talking about streaming video using the data I am paying for with the new unlimited data plan I just signed up for.
  4. So my connected plan plan apparently ran out today as the truck stopped playing text messages. Stupidest thing ever charging for that. I can see charging for stuff that downloads data but for crying out loud the phone is connected via bluetooth and is doing all the work. GM should comp me the plan anyway for all infotainment system issues I have had over the first year that they have no fix for. Couldnt even use the data I was paying for half the time. Anyway, I am off track and wishing I did not buy the truck ! So, talked to an advisor today and signed up for a connect plus plan. Advisor swears I can stream video while parked from the FRONT seat. How? What app?
  5. Welcome to GMs horrible abortion they call infotainment system. My 24 LTZ has 5000 miles and is 1 year old and been in shop with dozens of Nav issues, radio dropping out, locking up and constant "loading content" screens. Currently waiting for GM to ship the dealer a new radio which I am pretty sure won't fix the issues. They have already replaced the amp. If you search online you will find that everyone complains. Complain to your dealer.
  6. Hope I did not sound unappreciative or snarky as that was not intent. For my lifestyle its just nice to have the Fob in my pocket and not take it out all day. In the winter when its sub zero its just nice to run into the quicky mart for a soda or into a customers to drop something off and not shut the truck off. Thanks again.
  7. I am sure that works. But I don't take fob out of my pocket all day. And I don't want to shut it off and restart it. It does that on its own more than I like as is it. Just should be an easy way to lock it why running.
  8. Which recall? It's been back for software updates 2 times in the 6 months I have owned it. It's slightly less quirky than when I bought it.
  9. I used to do that with my 2017 High Country but that was different system. I have been unable to get my drivers door to lock with it running. I thought the manual said hold the lock and extended amount of time. Maybe I did not hold it long enough.
  10. I am having random issues where I will be driving down the road and get a text. It shows up on the infotainment screen but its not showing up on the phone. Most the time it works and as far as I know I am not having any missing text when not connected to truck. Just frustrating to not fully read the text on the truck expecting it to be on the phone to read when I get stopped not to find it there. On another note, anyone know how to get out of the vehicle and lock the door with it running with the Fob in your pocket?
  11. My screen does not blank at same time the audio blanks out. The audio issue is the least annoying part for me. I often get cannot connect when trying to do Hey Google commands. The maps section of screen will not work for 10 minutes at a time and the audio side of screen will hang up and not respond often even though the music is still playing. I am getting pretty good about tossing it in park at a stop light press and holding the end call to start the soft reset process which fixes the issues most of the time. I had a bunch of different issues before the last update like telling me I needed a Youtube premium account when in fact I had one as I could go to Youtube Music icon and start it directly. I am sure I am forgetting a lot of the hiccups. Guess I just did not expect these kids of issues from the truck. My 17 High Country worked great but in all fairness the refresh trucks have a lot more tech.
  12. It never stops but 90% of my drives are less than 15 minutes long so I don't know beyond that. It just mutes for 1 second and comes back. If I had to guess, I would say it does it every 2 minutes. Does to matter the media. FM, USB, Youtube Music.
  13. I called dealer and they acknowledged its a common issue across several models. Not going to lie, it ticks me off that you spend $70k on a truck, sign up for a required data plan to make "all' the stuff work and the thing has tons of issues. I am not a big fan of this body style to start with but the refresh dash with technology package was one of the main reasons I decided to trade 'up'. Or so it seemed at time. I am just going to wait a couple months and see if GM comes out with any fixes.
  14. I am debating about going and having a chat with the dealer. My dealer does a great job but obviously the programming issues are out of their control. But getting tired of the audio blinking out for 1 second every few minutes, black partial screens and unresponsive system. I feel this is a GM issue and they have not resolved it yet but also feel if I dont go ****** to dealer that doesnt help either.
  15. Mine works pretty good but in foggy conditions does odd things like shown above. I still like it better than no camera as the normal mirror does not have great view with rear headrest.
  16. I get this today. Rich, your Chevrolet Silverado is due for a software update that must be performed at a dealership. This update will provide software improvements and optimize your vehicle for future over-the-air updates. Once completed, your vehicle will have up-to-date technology, including the latest infotainment features, performance enhancements and more. Called the dealer and they tell me the update was the one that happened a few weeks ago and has been completed. This is second time I have got an email from GM for an update that has already been done. Anyone else have his issue? I have yet to get an update notice on my app either. Just email.
  17. The odds of having a bed rust through because of this is a million to one. I have factory spray in liner on my 2024 and had one on my 2017 High Country. Neither had any issues. Many truck accessory dealers are using different flavors of spray in bedliner because Linex is expensive because of licensing issue or something. I forget the details. So most bed liners around here will be another brand and I dont feel that they are better or worse than GM. If I could have found a truck on the lot I wanted without a liner I would have bough it and put a full bedrug in it. but I could so ended up with factor spray in bed liner and the bed rug mat.
  18. I have bought a lot of things from Realtruck including a cover and bedrug in the last couple months. Glad you got a good price but the cover you bought is a realtruck product. They own BakFlip. Just FYI
  19. You underestimate the GM infotainment teams ability to screw things up. Today my infotainment system was stuck on "retrieving content" or something to that effect and I finally held down the end call button and reset it and it came back. Yesterday the Next/Prev buttons on the left back of steering wheel would not work but eventually came back. I like the refresh trucks dash/radio setup but no question its the buggiest system I have ever messed with. I am a Microsoft network engineer and play around with amateur radio equipment as a hobby and GM takes the cake on this one. Very unreliable!
  20. At least you have better tires in my opinion. The Michelin's on a truck are hard to beat.
  21. You might ask him why. Might have been a brand issue and not rollup in general. I have had several rollups and loved them. I actually bought the same one for this truck and it did not fit the tailgate so I switched to the Bak cover which did not fit either. Turns out the factory did not install my tailgate cap correctly. But talk more to your brother about why he disliked the one rollup. If you use your bed and need it rolled up, then there is a big difference in ease as far as I am concerned.
  22. I agree. I would like to know the reasoning behind wanting a trifold. I have always used Access Roll Up covers but if you need extra Security then something like a BakFlip X4S (which I have now) would be an option. For me, I want a nice looking sealed cover but want to have it out of the way quickly and as much as possible when needed. Some of those trifolds stand straight up when "stowed" covering the back glass. Not something I think I would like.
  23. My update has been decent. To comment on above post my 2024 LTZ has Play and Ignore when I get a text message. Clicking play is hit or miss and does not always work. Not sure if one of the steering wheel buttons will activate play or not. So several of you have talked about radio cutting out.. I have an issue which sounds like lack of signal where the speakers will mute for probably less than a second. But it does it on FM stations and also data streams like YouTube Music. Is this what you guys experiencing? Except for KellyB which is obviously worse. Kelly have you tried doing a reset starting with he less invasive one of pressing and holding the end call button? If that does not work try the full reset which will cause you to add your accounts, etc again.
