  1. Be nice if they documented what commands could be used instead of us doing trial by error.
  2. Is there an external noise? I thought when I opened the tailgate the only sound was from the inside chime. Maybe I need to pay more attention.
  3. I dont know when it came but I see it listed on the 2023 as well. Only on my 3rd month with my 2024 and its been there since I bought it. I would like to test it sometime to see how it works. Maybe go to an empty parking lot with my wife and try to run over her
  4. Mine has had that since new. I think it's been around awhile.
  5. Sounds like it might be your torque converter. If you watch the tach do you see a slight flicker up and down on the needle?
  6. That is what I was told for my previous software update a few weeks ago when I took it in.
  7. As near as I can tell from a conversation with service advisor and a document I found online. Fixes a potential problem with the battery draining after an over the air update. Here is the GM document. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11007681-0001.pdf I think there are 4 versions of N24243563 as mine was N24243563-04 The initial document I found without the -04 had different info.
  8. I think its hilarious GM thinks this can be pulled off easily just to go through a car wash. 1. Drive to the entrance of the car wash. 2. Apply the brake pedal. 3. Open the door. 4. Shift to N (Neutral). 5. Turn off the engine and release the brake pedal. 6. The indicator should continue to show N. If it does not, repeat Steps 2–5. 7. Exit the vehicle and close the door. The vehicle is now ready for the car wash.
  9. Work complete at dealer (see invoice). I see no change under settings on the infotainment. Assuming I am looking in right spot.
  10. For what its worth, I am heading to dealer in a few minutes for software update and my vehicle is already on the version listed as NEW.
  11. So curious to hear from those that have Red Tint Coat trucks about the quality of finish on your truck. My new 2024 LTZ is slick and shiny but has a horrible amount of an odd orange peel. Its not the typical orange peel I am used to working with and it seems to be more linear with lines. I went to dealer and found another tint coat truck and it is similar. I am planning on doing a very light color correction on it as I don't want to remove much material. Obviously I want to keep as much tinted clear on the truck as possible, but secondly I am concerned that removing "tinted" clear might slightly change the color if not removed evenly. Rich
  12. Thanks for info. I guess ours might be slightly different anyway. 23 LZO vs 24 5.3 Thanks! And you are correct. Looking under recalls and warranty I found one that is coming up on a month old.
  13. When did this update come out? It was in on 7/29 for what sounded like a similar update.
  14. I have no info under history either. I have appt Wednesday and plans to ask them why the software update came email and not via app.
  15. How to you check OTA updates to see what has been done and turn if off if you choose to?
  16. I just got this email (nothing on my app at all). Rich, your Chevrolet Silverado is due for a software update that must be performed at a dealership. This update will provide software improvements and optimize your vehicle for future over-the-air updates. Once completed, your vehicle will have up-to-date technology, including the latest infotainment features, performance enhancements and more When I called dealer they told me it was for battery drains caused by a recent update.
  17. Mine still has issues but not often. I am waiting on parts for something else and will talk to them about it when I go back. I have had to reset it three times with the extended end call button and that fixed it without have to set anything up. When it works, its great. When not...
  18. After having it for a couple weeks there is no going back for me. It looks better than new and stays so much cleaner. They sell a set for the outside pillars. I am considering doing those as well as the black seems to show love marks super easy.
  19. 2024 LTZ with factory 22s. Had to do a few mods that my 2017 High Country had that were a necessity. OEM running boards I found new on Ebay for half of GM price. I wanted OEM again as I have been known to replace the plastic/rubber pieces on them and they are readily available and was cheap in the past. Went with BAK X4S. Wish I had stuck with Access Cover but this works well. Just hope I don't have issues with it. Bed rug is a must for me as I often haul computers around for work and this protects them and does not slide. This time I went with separate bed mat and tailgate as the last one would get wet in the hinge area and being in Iowa it would freeze during winter months. It was never a big issue but did not like dealing with the frozen hinge point. Not sure if this was wise choice or not. BDtrims tailgate letters in domed chrome. Also did the Screen Protech screen protector to get rid of the constant finger prints. Thinking about dropping the back 1 1/2" which shackles but not sure its worth the effort for such a small difference. I would like to drop the entire truck 3 to 4" but its just too expensive to do
  20. That seems insane for a starter. In my mind manufacturers should be accountable for providing parts in a timely manner. In my case, I have my truck setup for work with all the right accessories. Not really wanting to drive a loaner without that.
  21. I have to wonder... Is GM discounting heavy on custom orders too? Because all across the US they are giving $10 to $15k off MSRP (maybe more) to get trucks off the lot.
  22. One of the things i disliked about this truck from day 1 was my fingerprints all over the screen and how hard to was the keep the piano black trim clean. Well not much you can do about the latter but I bought screen protectors from Screen ProTech and installed the 3 piece setup on my truck. They are supposed to fix the fingerprint issue. I was not planning on doing the gauge cluster (2 additional pieces) but had to order it that way as they only sell a kit with the 3 pieces. Doing the cluster looked like a hassle but I did it anyway and it turned out to be super easy. The kit comes with all the tools and solution you need to install the 3 pieces and if you choose the "insurance" option which cost a little more they will send you two of everything in case you screw up. I am impressed. I went with the gloss and looks factory. They also have matte finish if you have glare issues. Dont have smeared fingerprints all over the screen like I did. Two thumbs up for me. https://screenprotech.com/
  23. I have always had the Access "original". but they are all pretty similar. The cheaper models have small feature differences like latch and different tensioning system. All just convenience things. The only reasons I like the access is I have used them since 92 and they look brand new 6 years after but into service and have never had a failure. I just don't the BAK is going to hold up as well. The plastic rear outside pieces are known to break (even on install) but they are easy to replace. Some material failures which they cover under the 5 year warranty. The first ones had felt on bottom where your hand touched to roll up and that was falling off. They changed that on the newer covers so that should not be issue on mine. What I have now works great. Rolls really nice. Its a good looking cover. Just hope I dont have to spend several hundred bucks on a replacement roll-up part if the material fails outside the 5 years. At $1249 is its twice the cost of what I have paid in the past.
