  1. I don’t know toooo much about handheld tuners. I had a Diablo Trinity T2 and it did let me raise the idle. But I think that is just a bandage to your problem. I never had any shake at idle in gear. Intake manifold is fairly easy to remove. Let it soak overnight in something like seafoam and use some kind of brush to loosen all the particles and suck the fluid out with a vacuum or use paper towels. Or pay someone to have them clean it with walnut blasting. You’ll probably see some gains in power, responds, MPG…. Just my 2 cents.
  2. Any handheld tuner can disable the DOD. my recommendation if you’re going to tow quite often is to at least do the trans thermostat mod. (LINK: T stat flip mod) and if your trans temp is still kind of high while pulling in the summer, you can add a Trucool 40k cooler to that. In-line with the factory trans cooler. If you have the 6 speed trans, I would suggest you swap the torque converter out with one from a CTSV. It is not too expensive and it will prevent the stock converter from taking a dump and ruining the whole trans. Also with that many miles, you can look into walnut blasting the intake valves. It’s got a rough idle probably from all the build ups. GL!
  3. Sent the trans out for a Circle D level 4 rebuilt along with the triple disk converter for a refresh (clutches are starting to slip). The driveshaft was also missing a weight so that got sent back to performance driveline for a rebalance.
  4. this is free and easy to do. My trans temp went from 190 to about 160. If you wanna run cooler than that, add trucool 40K. Real easy to do and you’ll never have trans temp problem again. My trans temp are usually around 125-135 after the trucool, but in also boosted and beat on it often… as of tuning, I would look into HP tuner and find someone reputable do tune. Someone that does a lot of these Gen V trucks. There aren’t as easy to tune like LS base stuff. GL.
  5. Thank you thank you. Sadly engine and trans is coming back out. The stock 6L80 couldn’t hold the power. It’s now slipping all gears. The trans and converter is gonna take a visit to circle D for level 4 built. And the engine is coming back out for a Katech oil pump since the OEM one is acting up. Good times…. Hopefully next year or so it’ll get some more fuel and get to see 4 digits!

  8. Cam, springs, lifters, ported heads, LT2 intake and LT5 TB, long tubes, y pipes true duals. But the most important part…. Find you a tuner that knows how to tune these trucks.
  9. It made 560hp and 570tq dyno in 3rd gear with ambient temp of like 90+. It’s currently down for a built engine and a turbo. Hopefully it’ll make north of 700 low 800 once it’s all done…. Or whatever the LT4 injectors and 2000cc nozzles of meth will give me.

  11. If the diameter is the same then you’ll be okay. But that’s kinda pointless… the bigger the intake pipe is, the more power. Just don’t go pass 5”…. 4-4.5” is a good spot to be. check out Www.intakehoses.com I made one with CF tubes for my edelbrock 2300. Throttle body is out of LT5. Great cheap upgrade.
  12. Carbon Creation Viper hood… it’s not bad bad but I expected better quality. There’s a bunch of tiny white speckles all over the hood. Looks to be mixed in the clear coat…
  13. Do the thermostat flip mod. You can look up the video on YT. It’s free and it’s just like a delete. If you’re not happy with that, get a Trucool 40K…. I never had the trans temp go above 160-165…. (I have my trucool for sale btw)
  14. I have a set of Speed Engineering long tube headers and Y pipe combo. The headers have been ceramic coated inside out. Very durable and the color is amazing. The Y pipe is …. A bit different than regular y pipe… it’s got a wastegate mounted at the collector. The wastegate is there to be a “cutout” when the boost kicks in. It doesn’t leak like a traditional cutout. Also automatically open when I’m WOT. The wastegate is just some Chinese Tial knock off. But it works great. price $750 + shipping and fees or pick up in Ontario SoCal these pictures are a lil old. I’ll update with a current picture within the next day or so.

  16. Give it some heat from a torch and massage it a bit.
  17. 10ft of heat sleeve for the AC lines and couple of wires and Heat shield for the battery trying to protect it from the heat from the turbo.

  20. Run LT4 injectors and HPFP along with 535 in tank. Should be good for 650 on E. Maybe a lil more if you only run E60 (which is about where it is most balanced between power and MPG).
  21. Got around to pulling all the parts out to make sure I have everything. The engine should be out tomorrow and hopefully new parts will start going in. quick parts list -L86 manifold with additional port injections. (will be installed with 50lbs injectors but won’t be hooked up just yet) - 2000cc meth injection - Borg S476 with billet wheel - Cam Motion turbo cam - BTR .660 dual valve spring - Johnson 2110R lifters - CHE trunnions - Turbo Smart WG / BOV - ARP head and main studs - L86 OEM crank - GPI “drop in” pistons and rods - OEM head gaskets - custom Garrett core intercooler - Derale trans cooler (will be under the bed). Removing the 40k Trucool from up front. And a bunch of other little stuff.
  22. I bought an airlift 5000 kit and modified the top bracket to be as close to the frame as possibly and changed out the bag itself to a single bellow so it’ll be slightly shorter. I don’t have the PN for the bags. But you can call airlift and tell then what kit you have but want a single bellow version of it and they’ll send one out to you. (They did for me anyway at no charge).
  23. Went to change the headlight bulb anddddd the front end started coming off…. Jokes aside…. Blower is coming off. Turbo, cam, CHE trunnion, Johnson lifters, pushrods, ARP head studs, and almost double the meth nozzles are going in!
  24. Yeah a lot of things are so hard to get these days. I ordered my RK CF hood back in September and the estimate ship date is May…. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they move it AGAIN! My treadstone intercooler is also back ordered for…. Forever sooo my turbo builder just custom made me one with Garrett core so I’m not waiting forever for it. Along with a bunch of other parts. at this point, I can easily say I got 15-18k into my truck…. And I do 80% of the labor work. The tune and any cutting/welding is out sourced. it ain’t cheap but it’s definitely fun and different.
  25. Same thing happened to me and my co worker. Three times for me and once for my co worker. The last time for me I got me an ACdelco instead of VATOzone and it’s going on almost a year now.
