  1. Anyone think this could be a low voltage issue? I started noticing this problem on my 2018 Sierra after a couple years - with the passenger side mirror when long-pressing lock to auto-fold, sometimes it would fold sometimes it wouldn't. Most of the time it would work. Now I also go a week or 2 without driving the truck, due to travel or just driving other vehicles. Recently it seemed fine, now I just got back from a couple weeks away and battery seems a little low when starting. I put it on a charger after being away, but I think the battery is now just getting old. Today, I noticed it's now the driver's side that won't fold but the pasenger side did. So I don't think it's mechanical gears, but rather one side just not getting the voltage it needs while the truck is locking and trying to fold the mirrors at the same time. When the truck is on and running the mirrors fold find, so I'll replace the battery before winter and see if I notice anything after.
  2. Can anyone tell me if there is an easier location than at the fog light to tap into this wire? Anything closer to the firewall?
  3. 5 years after buying the wiring harness and ORL switch, I'm wondering if anyone knows where to connect this yellow trigger wire for the stock sport bar wiring harness? My truck came with the sport bar, so it has the wiring ran for the third brake light, along with (presumably) the stock ORL that are an option. However, I can't find where this comes up in the engine bay, and I can't figure out where to hook up this trigger wire to send power to the ORL circuit. Any help would be appreciated, plan on picking up some DT connectors so I can at least hook these aftermarket lights up using the same connector that's already in the sport bar. Edit - scratch that, it looks like there was a sport bar only harness that didn't include relays and all that. Looks like I'll be making from scratch.
  4. I have a 2018 Sierra All-Terrain X with the sport bar. Right now I have a pair of 12 inch light bars, and they look good but thinking about replacing them with 12 inch light bars that have white DRL. I have the light switch with buttons for both fog lights and off-road lights, wired in myself back when you could get them for cheap. My thought was to get another relay for the light bar DRL and have them run so when the fog lights are on, the light bar DRL are on. Where would the best location be to get that trigger, preferably under the hood so I don't have to run another wire from the switch? Also, I have found the Rough Country light bar that has this feature (off-road light along with DRL), here: https://www.roughcountry.com/12-inch-led-light-bar-70912blkdrl.html I can't seem to find many others, is there a specific search term I should be looking up or are there just not many of them out there yet? Looking for more affordable alternatives, but if that is all there is I'll have to bite the bullet. Thanks for any help.
  5. https://accessories.gmc.com/product/2018/GMC/Sierra 1500/standard-box-premier-roll-up-tonneau-cover-by-advantage®---associated-accessories-19355363?categoryId=98027 I got this tonneau cover installed on my truck when I bought it from the dealer. It fits well, but when rolling it up it gets a little tough where the back of the sport bar meets the bed rails. Almost have to tilt it a bit to get it to go past. Other than that, it works great. Can't take any pics right now, truck is sleeping at home and we got some snow today. I'll try this weekend.
  6. You sure just the parking lights weren't on? I usually just push the fog light button and the parking lights come on, which also turns the taillights on but I don't mind.
  7. Got my switch installed today in my 2018 Sierra All Terrain X. Trigger isn't going anywhere yet, but I have to agree with lapoolboy, the off-road button is very sporatic. Sometimes you have to mess with the fogs before the off-road will turn on/off, mostly in park though. While driving, I didn't try it much but I believe it would reliably work only when the fogs were on. Gonna play with it a bit, see if I can nail down what it wants to happen to work.
  8. I did this a couple weeks ago, with a composite shim stuck behind there. Definite improvement with throttle response. As a mechanical engineer, I tried to wrap my head around why they designed it the way they did. My best guess is to dampen vibrations. With the shim, I can definitely feel more vibration in the go pedal compared to floating from the factory. I might try replacing the shim with a dampener of some sort, see if I can get some of the road feedback down.
  9. I also got my switch, going to put it in the same time I get the wiring from Phil... Lights came today, I like them but not sure it's exactly what I'm looking for. The mounting plate bends a little on the sport bar, so the lights sit at a bit of an angle. Might be able to shim them straight, or move them more towards the center. Or I might use these as cargo/reverse lights and hang them under the bar.
  10. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00T9GC59U A couple of cheap 12" light bars to go on my All Terrain X sport bar. The wiring should already be run to the front, so I'll tap into that and run a relay from the trigger on this switch. Then wire the lights up to the factory harness in the bar. That's the plan, hope it's that easy... If these lights don't last, I'm looking to upgrade to Rigid Industries 10" bars. I just couldn't justify the price first go around, since the lights will be used sparingly as it is. Now to find a relay.
  11. Cool, that's what I thought just wanted to make sure... Just ordered my lights!
  12. I just want to confirm, if I wire this switch right up like the video, the light will come on whenever the switch is long pressed? It isn't limited to high beams only, like I think the stock harness is (the only that comes with the 2 ATX lights)?
  13. Yeah I guess I'm a little confused... so 23458492 is the same as 84168423?
  14. Hmm, $25 for the red switch which won't match on my 2018 Sierra, or $130 for the blue switch which will... Wait I guess I'm confused... Is 23458492 a blue backlight?
  15. Looking for some help, tried searching this thread but search doesn't do well with short search terms (like DRL). I have a 2018 Sierra with LED headlights, if that matters. I want to have my fogs on all the time, so when DRLs are on, when parking lights are on, and when both low and high beams are on. I did the BRN10-BRN22 diode, so I have everything but when DRLs are on. I was looking at the pinout and it looks like I can go to pin 23 (out of park)? I assume that would turn the fogs on when the vehicle is on and out of park? Does that work, is there a better option? I was also thinking pin 7 (right front DRL control), but would that turn the fog lights off when I turn my right turn signal on?
  16. Anyone with an All Terrain X (or equivalent Silverado) with the Duratrac tires want to share their fuel mileage? With my first 300 miles I got 16MPG average, some stop and go driving but also a lot of highway (~74 MPH). Mine is a double cab with the 5.3 and 6spd. I'm fairly light-footed, wondering how much the knobbier tires are affecting gas mileage...
