I tried putting in an order for a 2018 double cab Silverado since my local dealer had a lease special on them, and this is what i was told to do by the salesman. I recently found out from this salesman that they aren't accepting orders on the 2018 model anymore, so I am being forced into getting the new 2019, which isn't too much of a problem as long as it doesn't raise the cost much (plus I think the new trail boss looks pretty sweet). It seems kind of ridiculous to me that they are doing this without having the build options open on the Chevy website for people, but I've never ordered a brand new vehicle so I don't really know what the norm is for this type of thing. The Salesman said he would put in an order for me for a truck that'll be as close to the 2018 build options that I chose. I'm just curious how the dealers are making these orders? Do they have a private site that they do orders on? Or is there a site I can go to for building out a new 2019?
