    2019 Silverado LTZ/Z71/6.2
  1. I guess I just have a different mind set... BTW by the time you add the LTZ, Z71, Tech, Sun, 6.2, and other misc charges you get 63,430.00 then you add the hard tonneau, splash guards, and maint pkg..and the total was 65,539.00 .Look it up and do the math, son.....I received a 2500$ discount ..then with state fees and sales tax..67692.00... The dealers were not discounting too heavily in November of 18..the trucks were in short supply.. Now as you so poignantly mentioned, the discounts are over 10K..I needed a truck then not now, lots of things happen in 7 months..There are still a limited supply of 6.2's here. When I see the word entitle ...I know where the poster's mindset is.. Everyone has the right to complain..I would assume a person who had this issue with a 45K truck would be just as upset and I would hope he would press the issue to Chevrolet . However I would assume you would find fault with something in his post also. I am only focusing my complaints on the climate control..The whistling sound as I am sure you read from another poster is resolved by opening the rear vents... As for the loaner, they give me a Tahoe...
  2. Thank you everyone for your input.
  3. An update on Climate issue and brakes. The dealer again sent me home with a receipt that stares : " Found Doc #52743SS " No Fix At This Time.... My customer service representative at Chevrolet ..Chevrolet Customer Assistance placed a conference call between the service mgr and myself with her taking notes. The service mgr said that it is a software problem that has no fix...I responded I spent 65K for a new Chevrolet that you can't repair? I want to investigate a manufacturers buyback. I really like the truck but I don't want a problem in a few years when trading in!! I told them to replace the head unit..the dealer said it was a software issue, only a few vehicles have had. There is no fix... So today it was 106 in my truck and the ac was cold then when i stopped and restarted... CLIMATE OFF...and it recycled cabin air..warm 98 degrees and stuffy... I will see what Chevrolet says about this. As to the brakes ..mine measured 10mm front and back..they replaced a pad sensor they said was defective... I am dubiously watching my monitor.. I do not know if 10mm is a good amount for 7500 miles or not. It is mainly highway driving. I will keep everyone in the loop..
  4. I just got my 19 Silverado Back.... In for ...Excessive Brake Wear per sensor... Climate Control showing off on display..... Rear Vision System shows service system...Whistling sound in a/c vent.. Here is the synopsis... The results... I took my 19 6.2 into dealer on Monday showing 7600 miles highway driving and 39 % front and 67% rear brake life remaining...The repair receipt says... Front and Rear Pads at 10mm... vehicle is operating as designed..then further down it says owner states brake wear seems excessive... results: DTC C1162 ...Diag to internal fault in front disk pad wear sensor. Replace Front Disc pad wear sensor. 2. Again mentioned Climate control display states Climate Off on numerous occasions....Repair says NO FIX AT THIS TIME... 3.Rear vision problem ...DOC#5283004 .. Reprogram Video Processing Control Module. 4. Preformed Recall number N192210560 .. reprogrammed module. 5. A/C whistling..... normal sound...REALLY !! a HIGH PITCHED WHISTLE?? I have received a case number from Chevrolet Cust Ser Division.... I am documenting the repairs through them and getting closer to my lemon law repair number... I love this truck , but, it is wrong for a company to sell a 65K + vehicle and have the repair to the climate control as NO FIX AVAILABLE .. Well I am getting mad now..THEY BETTER FIX IT OR I WILL take it back each week till its fixed on lemoned.... It is 97 degrees in SW Florida , I don't need this control gently sending slightly cool air at min circulating speed.... Question for forum... as to the brakes.. is 10 mm good or bad for highway driving at 7600 miles... How do we reset the brake monitor..The tech was "too Busy to correctly reset my rear monitor.. but finally did it in 10 secs... How do we do it?? Thanks .. just wanted to give everyone an update...
  5. I am at 37% front 49% rear... 7200 miles..highway driving... rapid decline since "service brake boost" update..and brakes are inconsistent as to pedal pressure. Taking her back in tomorrow..
  6. I had this posted on Troubleshooting..probably should have posted it here instead...Friday update..Dealer is taking it in on Monday...brake wear indicator is now at 36% after only 300 more miles driving..BUT the brakes feel uneven ..occasionally quick boost then next stop major effort required..don't like that... Here was my post: My 6.2 Z71 Silverado has been having ongoing issues with this pathetic entertainment system .. 1st - the infotainment screen , new for 2019 models , has a much thinner and lighter typeface then the 2018 unit..makes it very hard to read secondary information displayed.. The older unit had secondary info in a dark teal color..stood out very well..this one is gray. I showed the difference in an earlier post. The typeface on the controls is also smaller and thinner and lighter. 2nd. My truck showed a service power brake boost on the DIC.. actually eliminated all power assist on the brake system. The dealer receipt showed a few downloads software updates and the message has not shown up again. HOWEVER with only 7000 miles the brake life monitor is showing 44% . The monitor was showing 85 % at 5000 miles when the updates were applied at the dealer. The truck feels like it has minimal boost , then no boost, then it feels like the pedal is being pushed way too far to stop. Something is not right.. Oh and my mileage is 90 % - Interstate 75 between Ft Myers , Fl and Tampa, Fl . 3rd problem . on the entertainment display, when I took her in for service at 5000 miles, the unit said climate control off.... it would recirculate air but no fan speed or coolness.. I was told there was no fix at that time. Its been 5 weeks and it has happened 10 more times..and it is a 95 degree Florida summer. 4th problem, The display says service rear vision camera. there is no back up, no surround, no nothing..this has happened 6 times now..As in all the problems except the brakes, , it appears normal after 30 mins and a restart. My 2018 Colorado had NONE of these issues... My dealer is 30 miles away, My neighbor has a 2019 Denali 6.2 and has had none of these issues..he is at 14,000 miles and his brake monitor is at 86%. His brakes also feel like mine did before the downloads....Like they could actually stop the vehicle. Now it seems that there is a big issue with this whole entertainment computer system. I would rather have a lower HD display and systems that worked than them selling me a 68,000.00 truck that is not ready for market. Judging from the posts on this site, there are many experiencing these problems also.... My Uncle has a 2018 Escalade..6.2 10 speed..he has no issue with the electronis or the display..They had surround view for a few years. He also has 36,000 miles on it and has 58% brake life left. Sorry for rambling, but I was ready to buy a 2019 Camaro 2ss, But no more new system... If they can't fix it then they need to stop selling it. GM must have hired the Boeing Software Engineers.. Take these problems away, and it is a creat truck, powerful, good looks, But ya gotta have the whole thing working at this or any price point... Thanks for viewing my ramble.

  8. I have a high pitched whistling sound when ac is on..turns out it is the left driver upper ac vent...This was on mine ..but I found it...
  9. Mine had all recall and software updates supposedly taken care of last week..6600 miles and screen says....service rear vision system ... which stops all camera assist including all around and front cameras.
  10. I have a strange one ...a whistling sound coming from the drivers side area... I thought Mirror air whistling ..nope..I thought under hood ..nope..I thought Badges on side ..nope...I turned off the ac ..almost a never situation in SW Fl... and the noise stopped..turned ac on and back it came ..turns out it is the upper console drivers ac vent whistles with higher speed... crazy...
  11. Dealer checked code and the response was that GM was aware of the problem and was working on a fix.
  12. I had the brake message and software refresh, but now I have to exert greater effort to slow and stop truck... definitely eliminated the message but now not a good brake feel. 6600 miles..
  13. 6600 Miles..mine just turned blue today and my screen still has the occasional climate control off screen... That is 3 electronic bugs ...We should get an extended warranty of 6 months to allow for our troubleshooting GM's bugs!
  14. Here is the comparison between the previous entertainment system and the 2019 version..note the colors used in the previous gen on top.
  15. I have a 2017 Colorado with the LT , Midnight, premium stereo with nav , etc . I have also just purchased a 2019 Silverado LTZ, Z51 with upgraded stereo with nav.. I looked at the display in the '17 and the music info on XM has the channel on top in bold white and the artist and song information beneath it in a bold teal color. This color is also used for time and temp so it can be seen at a quick glance. On my '19, the XM channel is still bold white font, but the artist and song as well as the time and temp are a very thin typeface and a greyish color.... it is almost indistinguishable as to artist and song during the day when sunny...cannot figure why they would make the readout on the new improved infotainment system so terrible after having the older generation so user friendly..I will try to post pictures tomorrow..OR am I missing a customization on my new unit? Thanks.
