So i know that the bulletin is for the 2021-2024 L87 (6.2), since the 5.3 is essentially the same motor with less displacement, would with be beneficial of the 5.3 guys/gals to change to 0W-40? ** isnt the 2019-2020 and 2025 L87 the same motor, was there a bad batch of parts for the 2021-2024 engines?

I would say if you do it yourself, pull the exhaust, you will need the the new gaskets for the exhaust. I ended up adding V-bands to the exhaust and a B&M trans pan.

So far yes, its annoying hearing it squeak all the time with that much pad left. If i was low on life, i would order the pads/rotor. On here looking to see if anyone has a known fix for this issue or if i am 1 out of a million having this squeaking issue.

Don't unhook the sensor, you will get a error on the dash and your max MPH will be 62mph(ask me how i know). Its not a CEL but a different one that you need a good scan tool to clear after you re-hook the sensor back in.

Dash (after update in ~2020) says 55%, noise was pretty consistent so i thought it may be the squealer.

I was on a long trip a few weeks ago and noticed that my front left brakes started squeaking all the time (on or off the brake). With 99k miles on it i assumed that its probably due for new pads and rotors. Pulled the pads and noticed plenty of life left on the pads prior to the squealers. The sensor is only on the front left of my truck and the sensor is the one that is rubbing on the rotor. I ended up pulling the sensor out and zip-tie it out of the way, drove it around and verified that the senor was the issue for the noise. Does any one know how i can put the sensor back and not have it make noise?

Got warranty info, https://foreverdealers.com/claims-terms/ Need to have it tested by the dealer and i can purchase on the same day (dates on test and receipt need to be the same). Will have it tested/ buy the new battery on Saturday. Will need to bring the Autel to program the new battery. The new battery will be $254+tax and the warranty cover up to $250. so this new battery will cost me ~$30(if they honor the warranty).

Sorry but that should be incorrect and i am waiting for a call back, when i purchased the vehicle (at my second uncles dealer), i purchased an extended warranty just for the battery for an extra $100 that will be for the life of the vehicle (as long as its still in my name/i bring it in). I should of verified the full scope of this warranty prior to purchase. I may have to even pull the paper work and bring it to the dealer to get it covered.

More than likely. I call multiple times to multiple dealers and apparently most of the service adviser are out due to being sick. Do you think if i can remove it from the truck and bring it in or do i need to leave it in the truck? I would like to remove it so they do not scratch my truck while changing it. i can reset the battery with my Autel.

I ran to Autozone over the weekend and had the battery tested, the CCA was "good" but the battery percent was at 47%. I went home, put it on a charger (good for AGM) and once it got to a full charge, ran back and the battery was at 55%, assuming after 6 years the battery is going bad. Need to call the dealer and see if my battery warranty i purchased when i got the truck is going to be hell to get covered.

Still no response from GM Support. So i finally had my Autel with me when it happened again. P0171 (lean on bank 1) P219A (Fuel trim balance) U0100 (Lost communication with ECM) U0102 (Lost communication with Transfer case) U0131 (Lost communication with Power steering module) U0140 (Lost communication with BCM) U0151 (Lost communication withInflatable restraint sensing and Diag module B1325:03 (control module power circuit voltage) U18AF (lost communication with telematics) All happened at the same time, while trying to remote start. Does anyone know what these could be?

I had the same problem, pulled a vacuum on the cooling system and watched the air burp in the bottle. ** I do not remember if I was able to pull a full vacuum. i believe it was roughly half. **

Ok, i finally got sick of dropping my exhaust to change trans filter and fluid. I had a local shop in Dublin,CA (Minute Muffler) add the V-Bands to my exhaust. It always took 3-4 hours to change the fluid and filter in the truck, now it takes ~1 hour.

I was at the dealer the other day picking up an oil filter for my 5.3L truck and noticed that the oil filter has a new design. Does anyone know when these were implemented? Do we know why this was switched to this new design, or has this design been around for awhile (usually been using wix XP or Amsoil filter)? I do see that it has the E-core. PN: 12735811 PF63

I replaced/upgraded 2 of the 3 straps based on some weird codes i was getting (none of the codes on the PIT). Added a wire from the battery to engine. the battery ground goes to the body, there are 2 other straps that go from the body to the frame and engine. All 4 gage wire, solder ends. I saw South Main Auto channel video and was happy that i made these upgrades.

Hmm, i've done mine in the past and the left and right banks were different like yours but the banks were within 5% of each other. Not sure what is going on with yours. Possibly your injectors 2 and 7 are going out?

Had the same issue, I ended up pulling a vacuum on the cooling system with the coolant full and burped air from the heater core, it stopped making that sound after i have done this. I bought a Mishimoto kit.

That is what i was thinking about with the 5.3L, Titan fuel tanks has the 43 gallon tanks but they do not list them for the gas models. I talked to them last year at SEMA and they said that its only for the diesel fuel because the exhaust on the gas models are too close to the tank and it could possibly melt the tank. I am not sure if i believe that, the diesel already has incredible range, why does it need even more.
