  2. There are after market yellow fogs that are a plug n play. I can’t be sure of quality though. I’ll try and get a link of where I’ve seen these.
  3. I was just curious if Paul would need to dive into that aspect at all or get what he needs from timing, airflow, and tcm rework. Thanks for the input. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  4. Cam, isn't there a "virtual torque management" on these newer pcm's? I haven't messed with these computers as of yet, waiting for warranty to end. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  5. I haven't run into this problem as of yet but I do know a few people who ha e had headliner damage due to third brake light/cargo light leaking. Im not saying this is your problem but couldn't hurt to check to be sure its not contributing. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  6. Kinda sounds like whats going with mine. Usually does this with frame twisting. In my case my leaf springs are rotating right or left and the keeper on the front is a bit out of shape. Not sure if the leaf pack is shot. I'm trying to find time to have the dealer check it out. I'll let you know what I come up with. One thing I did notice yesterday was a heavy load in the bed quieted it right up. Food for thought. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  7. I'm not sure about labor costs, but you can get a reman 6l80 for about $2500. But i have seen from Monster Transmission a built up one for around $5500. Somewhere around that price anyways. I would suggest if you are thinking about a new trans, if budget allows, get a built up one and never have to worry about it again. If I run into this down the road I will probably go this route. 8. In the back of my mind hovers the dod system and the potential failure of it. But for now it seems fine. I baby it to keep it outta 6th gear if I can as to not engage 4 cyl mode. But on state to state trips in the 80 mph zones that 6th gear really helps. I'll just keep pushing the dealers around here and hopefully one day they'll break and take me seriously about the converter. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  9. Thats what I'm afraid of hearing from the dealer when they decide something Is wrong. I've read from quite a few people that they have flushed and threw in amsoil with great success. But I'd really like a tech to see this first before I start changing up on fluid. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  10. In the same boat still. Have had numerous road force balances done. Have swapped tires out just to rid a variable. I believe mine is the converter but cannot get any dealer to feel what I feel. They check everything out and say its good. Mine happens from 68 thru 75. Some days its more noticeable than others. Also have had shaft checked for balance, all good. 11. You do the same, thanks. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  12. Strong, let me know what your outcome is on this please. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  13. I thought that too. I checked all my body mounts just last week. It wouldn't bother so much if it had always done this but it only started a few weeks ago. I have read that some have thrown rubber in the leaf packs. Might give it a try n see what happens. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  14. Cam, can you feel yours when it pops n knocks? Mine almost feels like bad struts but in the rear. I know the suspension is good as I only have 33k on the truck and don't really use it rough. It drives me nuts hearing it. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  15. I just saw these as well. Put em in the cart but waiting to hear if they are any good. The price is decent. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  16. I just tried. Server problems I guess? Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  17. Cam stated right, hp tuners is pretty invasive when it comes to control. I have been using it since 2015. I acquired most of my learning from videos and the hp tuners forum. In my opinion it is a great skill to learn if your planning on tuning or having most of your vehicles past present or future tuned. It took me a good year to learn enough to feel confident in tuning. A lot was through trial and error but helped instill the concept. I also believe it helps one understand how many of the vehicles systems work. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  18. Cam, I agree with your statement for the most part. I'm not saying we all shouldn't gain knowledge on the machines we have or work on but if you think about it for a sec, perhaps some of these guys or gals have less experience than many other people on here. Perhaps they haven't had the opportunity to gain such experience like some others. I for one know very little about much of these trucks and cars coming out but can handle myself with the LS blocks and the newer vortec with confidence. I have only had this L83 for a few months but am learning what I can about it for when I can dive in and tune it. I'm not bustin your chops or anything like that, just trying to share a different perspective. I always look forward to your input on many of these posts. Like many of us, I come on to this forum to get opinions from people that have experience with items on do not. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  19. BlancoSilverado, my 17 has the L83 non flex w/afm. Perhaps this is different for other years. I even requested a build sheet from GM to be sure. It states the block is indeed L83. Can you shed some light for me? Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  20. Swathdiver, copy that. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  21. Cam, I was under the impression that gm put the 6l90 in the HDs because the 6l80 was inadequate. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  22. Just remember that with more motor means your gonna need to beef up that 6l80. Depending on how high you wanna go you could just swap in a 6l90. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  23. That's great work. Keep in mind you may need to tune for the turbulance change in the intake. The stock intakes that have the baffles and extra length piping are tuned pretty accurately. I had an 08 tahoe that I made a custom intake for. It made my 4l60 shift weird and at weird times. As soon as I tuned the maf curve, it made a world of difference. I also noticed that my fuel trims were on the lean side before i tuned as well. Just a thought Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  24. 2017 5.3l also does it no matter the temp of my block. I have wondered if it my be the vac pump as that's where I hear most of the sound. This is my first Ecotec3 so I'm unfamiliar. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  25. Kudos, that's a good lookin truck. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
