  1. Yup, not knocking Ford. Every brand has its issues. But just a little fun ribbing, Ford did issue new Oil Level Indicators (dip stick) with a wider normal op range for their oil consumption issue on their 5.0 between 2018 - 2020. Not saying every 5.0 had this problem. Guys over at the Ford forum were not happy. There are a few YT vides on this too. Thought it was fitting for the meme. Never knew that about the 03 Tacos.
  2. I have it in camera mode full-time. No shakes, on bumpy roads or music. It is so tight, I use two hands to adjust it, cause it felt like it was going to snap off if I tried to force it/move it with one hand.
  3. An unpopular opinion but the yellow bow tie looked good to me. Congrats on your truck!
  4. I recently had an alignment done because I had the GM lift kit installed. I’m trying to learn about my truck and have been reading about lifts and all that’s involved, including alignments. Does my passenger front camber look near maxed out? Driver front camber looks less extreme. Something to be concerned about? Drives fine. (Excuse the rust proofing overload. Feels like -17C outside and I’ll have to wait for warmer weather to use Nox-Rust to clean it up.)
  5. Anyone know what the white (plastic?) piece is called on the camber bolt/plate? And what is the purpose? I recently had an alignment done and they popped off the white piece on both the passenger and driver side to do the adjustment. Sorry for the poor quality, I had to zoom. Photo credit to TrailDemon.
  6. And just an FYI, bedside is steel. Not aluminum.
  7. Factory. I installed the rear wheel liner myself, so I’m familiar with the setup there.
  8. Yes, once folded the plastic just clamps onto the flange of the fender/wheel well. No metal or drilling required for holes D and E.
  9. Holes E and D don’t require metal. The plastics folds onto itself and E and D screws into themselves once folded. Edit: And yes, I did look at your picture. Just trying to help.
  10. So there’s no sheet metal where hole A needs to be drilled? ISheets_84110086.pdf
  11. It’s correct. That top plastic piece needs to be folded onto itself so it clamps to the wheel well. So 4 holes become 2.
  12. There were some post in the past asking about Terrain Mode (including by myself). TFL tested the new 2021 Cadillac Escalade with the single speed transfer case going “off-road” using Terrain Mode. For those who are interested. https://youtu.be/kaTGwPaweGo
  13. So brought the truck in. Had them re-seat the CV axle properly. Not thinking to check at the dealer. I came home, crawled underneath to do my usually rust prevention touch ups around the frame where the pads go. Noticed the CV axle looked in the same state. Called them up. They said they needed to order a new snap ring. 5-10 days ships from the US. Can it be something as simple as a bad snap ring or can it be a bigger issue?
  14. Ok, will do. Will I need a realignment done again afterwards?
  15. On the driver side the CV axle is not completely flush into the front diff compared to the passenger side. Is this any issue? Is it normal? I just upgraded the truck with the GM 2” lift kit. Dealer installed. Drives fine. No horizontal movement when I tried to move it. Don’t want to go to the dealer if I don’t have to.
  16. Dealer gave me a GM aluminum skid plate (same one that comes with the Z71/X31 package) for free. It got me thinking, is there any concern of galvanic corrosion since it is bolted to the steel crossmembers? I know there is the wax there but is it enough? Does it matter? Sorry my OCD gets me thinking of these things.
  17. Sorry if this has been discussed before. Do the 2021 Tahoe, Suburban and Yukon have waxed frames similar to the Silverado/Sierra?
  18. And yet, you can’t configure NHT with a 2 speed transfer case/4L on the 2019+. Maybe GM doesn’t think 4L is necessary for those who want max towing capabilities. I don’t tow, so I don’t know. Unless that’s changed? A topic for another day. Edited: Oops! I was wrong. You get it with the 6.2. Thanks OnTheReel for correcting me.
  19. ^^^^^^ Yup! To add to an already perfect summary above. There is a high likelihood the gasket will get mangled when the tech first tries to remove the spoiler to fix the cracked plastic frame. So now the situation is compounded by a bad gasket and maybe the sealant wasn’t done right by the tech as well. Now you have 2 different leak points.
  20. Is GM being honest to put a “4x4” sticker on 4wd single transfer case trucks? Should they put a “AWD” sticker instead? Not a serious issue. Just having some fun on “Blue Monday.”
  21. It's possible this leak is coming from the yellow retainer. The area of the stain is exactly below where the retainer sits. It has a very thin and flimsy/delicate gasket that can easily be damaged when you pull the spoiler. I had the same leak the 2nd time around. I had to make my own gasket because when I order the part GM didn't include the gasket. Edited: Yup, Dali555 beat me to the punch. My gasket got stuck on the cab side where the retainer goes in. I thought it was missing the first time I took off the spoiler, but it's there and mutilated.
