  1. I’ve always been told not to use the stuff at the pump, it’s not always fresh and can cause serious issues with the system.
  2. In my area fuel is the same price, def is roughly $25/7-8000km depending on usage, and oil changes are the same. So def and fuel filters are the added cost. $100/yr in def and 2 fuel filters, not a big deal.
  3. That’s not really added cost to owning a diesel though. I’m sure there’s going to be problems with the emissions junk at first (I had one in 7 years, 2 different trucks 200k km total) but that’ll get sorted. If you delete it before it’s out of warranty then you should know you’re assuming a lot of risk especially with a new generation.
  4. Which is really nothing if it doesn’t break down...
  5. It plugs in between the oem harness and the Bose amp behind the seat.
  6. Those of your that have swapped the oem Bose speakers and amplified your new door/dash speakers, how did you get that accomplished? I’m looking at adding a 4ch amp to replace the Bose setup.
  7. Contact this guy. He makes his own and was very responsive when I contacted him. I didn’t end up purchasing anything though.
  8. -20c/-4f and your aren’t bucket washing anything. I use the wash bays and start with the pre-soak followed by the hot water high pressure wash then wax and a final rinse. If it gets half decently warm I’ll bring my buckets and mitts there in the winter.
  9. The truck wedge might be better if you want shorter. This sits about 4” from the door side edge pushed against the little hump and short of the seat. I really wanted it to fit under the small seat but oh well. I can easily remove the box and throw it in the back if I need the space. I couldn't imagine needing more than the T3. If you really want the whole neighborhood to hear it or rattle the interior apart sure. This thing hits hard enough for me and the only time I have it turned right up is to laugh at how ridiculous it is. You can feel it in your chest at low volumes and it moves your hair and vibrates your eyeballs if you turn it up.
  10. Ceramic coat if you can afford it. Wash with the two bucket method and grit guards in the buckets. Wax with a spray on wet wax or get an orbital buffer and go to town with your choice. After a couple years you’re going to end up with some light scratches or swirl marks depending on the color. That’s when you have the truck buffed professionally and it’ll look brand new again. Get a PPF on the heavy wear spots (bumper/hood/roof line/front fenders/BEHIND THR DOOR HANDLES!!) and worry less about paint chips.
  11. I can, it’s close but doesn’t stick past the seat. It actually fits quite nicely back there. If it was in a crew cab it would be too big and need a longer box designed instead.
  12. I paid $1200 CAD for my setup installed but they didn’t use a LC2i (something different, not as good, and I’ll be cleaning up some of the install). I’ve also been dealing with them for almost 20 years. For $450 I’d buy a quick connect Lc2i with harness (no splicing) and install the power wires myself. An amp install kit is $30-$80 depending on wire size.
  13. You could always have it wrapped with PPF after it’s painted.
  14. I just had a JL 12” TW3 powerwedge with a JL JX5001/D amp installed last night (no pics because I need to clean the wiring up first) and boy does it sound good! Fills in the sound quite nicely, the 12” digs down to get those low frequencies, and it’s a sealed box so it’s nice and accurate, not bloaty and boomy. The box fits easily under the seat and the amp is tiny! Things have changed in 15 years since I last had a big sub/amp and I can’t believe how small the equipment is now. I haven’t had the kids in the truck yet but they love when I turn up the home stereo for them. I’ll probably put their hearing protection ear muffs on for a demo ? There’s othing like the feeling of being punched in the chest when the base hits.
  15. I might miss the HD for towing but that’s only a few times a year, every other day this truck is much nicer to be in.
  16. Got mine from another angle. I can’t get enough of this truck! I don’t miss my HD Denali at all anymore.
  17. It’s not accessible unless you pull the console apart.
  18. Hidden in the centre console I believe, same as previous generations.
  19. Finally got my wheels and a proper wash/wax.
  20. There’s actually quite a few articles about the advantages of running multiple subs and most home theatres now that are in a larger room have more than one, some as many as 1 in each corner. These aren’t just some high schooler/college kids adding speakers for the hell of it to make things loud either. I’m not an audiophile but I appreciate good sound. I’ll be adding a 10” sub to my Bose system to get things smoothed out and see how it sounds from there.
  21. High end home receivers do have dual sub inputs and many people run 2 or more subs especially if they sit in more than one spot or have multiple seats to view from. Its impossible to put a subwoofer in a vehicle in the ideal location. It’s not like you’re not going to do the “sub crawl” method to figure out where to place it so you do what you can. With a decent subwoofer tuned properly you can have a great sounding setup in your vehicle provided the rest of the equipment is up to snuff. It doesn’t need to be a bloaty fart cannon turned up to 11.
