    I have a 1999 Chevy 1500 z71 has the 5.3l vortec with 4l60e auto 4wd. I'm having transmission problems won't shift past 2nd gear in drive. I still have reverse, 1st and 2nd. I've plugged in a tester an no codes pop up. Any ideas on what I should do or check into before junkin it an getting a new one. If I do need to start looking for one what would be my best bet for finding a decent used one?

    In need of help or suggestions as to what my best options are with my transmission issue. 99 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab z71, 5.3l vortec automatic transmission 4l60e. Put it in drive an won't shift past 3rd gear. Manual shift 1st , 2nd smooth, shift to 3rd it revs up. I have reverse. Any ideas or solutions for my problem would be Greatly appreciated

Manual shift same issue overdrive light goes off an on. #6 possibly, is there any other possibilities, speed sensor, shift solenoids, to much transmission fluid or wiring. Or am I rebuild bound. If I have to rebuild what brand clutch kit do you suggest is best? an do you know what it will cost? I want to fix it myself.
