  1. I've got some start up videos I can send you but you're right, you can't tell much until you hear it yourself. I'll say this - I honestly don't think it's too loud or daily driving. I seriously can't even tell I did it on the highway. But I also have a cammed Corvette which is much louder so anything else is quiet to me haha. The good thing about a muffler delete is the cost is very minimal so if you don't like it, you can buy a Borla or Magnaflow muffler to put back in. You'll still make a better sound and save $1000 on a catback system. It's the best $75 I ever spent on a vehicle.
  2. I'm all in on this when it's ready! The plug-in version is nice since it charges your phone but wireless would be really convenient for daily driving.
  3. No tuning here either but I have to agree, the 6.2 and 10 speed combo is smooth and quick. I'm constantly surprised how much faster it is than the 5.3 6 speed combo I had in my K1. I may take mine to the trip too and see how it does.
  4. This is exactly what I did - left both flappers in and the resonator mesh uncovered. The sound is perfect to me. No drone on the highway but really nice on startup and under throttle. It finally sounds like it has all this power.
  5. Everything I buy gets LED reverse and license plate lights, and LED front signals. They're cheap upgrades that make the truck look a lot more expensive.
  6. My buddy bought a 20 RST in April that pops quite a bit. I bought a 20 RST in September and I've not heard it once. Figures haha.
  7. I like the painted bumper look myself. It's specifically why I opted for an LT Z71 when I bought my K1 and the same for my RST. I'm not a big fam of chrome on trucks. You gotta ask yourself, which one will make you happier to walk out to every morning?
  8. I had the same debate and ended up with a 20 while my trade value was high. The new interior on the Tahoe is nice but not particularly nicer than my truck, in my opinion. The layout looks nice but the materials are largely the same. Plus it looks like they may be adopting the push button gear shifts and I'm not a fan. I have no regrets.
  9. Not sure about the Elevation but leather is definitely an option on the RST.
  10. I guess nervous may not be the right word. It's definitely not keeping me from driving the truck. I just hope it doesn't happen. This is my third GM truck and the first two (2009, 2017)were excellent so I expect this one to be, too.
  11. Reading these stories make me a little nervous since mine was built within the dates in question. I'm at 1800 miles now and it's running perfectly with no strange noises even after my muffler delete. I wonder what the highest mileage failure has been? I hope I'm in the clear by now but who knows at this point.
  12. I ended up having mine done a couple of weeks ago. I had them delete the muffler and leave both flappers. And I left all the resonator mesh uncovered. Man, what a difference! There's no drone on the highway until around 80-85mph and only slight DFM noises every now and then. It only cost me $75 and I can't believe I almost considered dropping $1400 on the whole system after hearing mine now. Here's some quick examples:
  13. GM will let dealers stack some rebates but not all. I bought my truck from a relatively high volume dealer last month. They had a dealer discount on top of the GM discount. I also qualify for the GM Educator Discount since I'm a school board employee but GM wouldn't allow the dealer to stack their dealer discount on top of mine. But they would allow me to stack my discount on top of the GM offer which was okay with me because it was greater than the dealer discount anyways. So be sure to check and see what combinations will work. Either way, you're right that this is the best time to buy a truck. I had no intentions of trading but my trade offer was $1000 difference from what I paid for my K1 three years ago. I'd be crazy to turn that down.
  14. I did the muffler delete on my 6.2 and I'm thrilled with it. No highway drone until over 80mph and a solid aggressive sound. There is a slight helicopter noise with DFM but I've only noticed it once or twice. Only cost me $75.
  15. Bump! $800 obo. Eventually I'll find the market on these. Until then they're just taking up garage space. I have wheel boxes if someone needs to ship! Make me an offer.
  16. I got 14% off MSRP but I had to stack a couple of discounts to get there. The dealer wasn't offering much in the way of dealer discounts but trucks are hot right now so they don't have to negotiate much - if you don't buy it, someone else will. It didn't help that I wanted a configuration that was hard to find. Some guys here are getting 10k off sticker but that's also regional. Nobody anywhere near my part of the world is coming close to that.
  17. My 6.2 was produced during the time in question but 1,500 miles in and I haven't noticed any issues. Engines that are grenading themselves seem to have issues within the first few hundred miles. Fingers crossed.
  18. Those looks great! And they're really affordable, too. I'll definitely check them out.
  19. How much were the tips? Did you have to weld then in? Or can they bolt in somehow?
  20. Has anyone had any luck fitting quad exhaust tips to their T1? I've been researching old threads on the forum and it doesn't look like any one has had any luck, but I didn't see many recent replies so I thought I'd ask. I've seen a bunch of options on Amazon and such but it's hard to tell what would fit since the pipes appear to come into the tips at an angle. I really, really like the square tip model Borla makes but I don't know if they will sell it separately from the catback system. Any ideas out there?
  21. Honestly it's much less than I thought it would be. I don't hear any drone at all until around 80mph and even then, it's very minimal. There's also a little when I start on an incline but it goes away as soon as the truck downshifts. I really encourage people to at least try the muffler delete because it's very inexpensive. Worst case scenario is you hate it and if so, you can buy a Magnaflow muffler to put back in its place that will be quieter and you will still come out way ahead financially over the full system.
  22. As far as I know, yes. But my state doesn't do emissions testing and I don't know how that would affect inspections.
  23. I had the muffler delete done on my 6.2 and I actually like it a lot. No drone on the highway but still aggressive on startup and acceleration. I've thought about playing with the resonators and seeing what happens. Some guys have been taping the screens up with exhaust tape to change the sound. It's really interesting how these new exhausts work.
