  1. The photographs below show how I picked up power for my front camera by tapping into position 40 in the under hood fuse box on my Silverado Custom. I ordered the tap from Amazon. Using a ten amp fuse, it has worked fine with no problems
  2. I purchased a fuse tap from Amazon and inserted into position 40 in the fuse box. I hope the attached photos are helpful.
  3. Changing to LED lights on my 2020 Silverado Custom Double Cab was my first modification. The improvement was well worth the effort and the cost of LED lights in comparison to other mods was relatively affordable. I purchased my lights from Amazon. The high beams are Sirius branded and the low beams are CZ bulbs. They fit nicely under the factory dust covers and the improvement in night time visibility is well worth the effort. The low beams were relatively simple to install from the top, but the high beams were a challenge because of the longer reach needed to access them. I found the easiest way to install the high beams was to pull the front wheels and partially undo the front fender liners to provide direct access. My only question was whether or not the factory dust covers provided enough air space for the LED lights to run efficiently without overheating, and so far the lights have performed wonderfully without any indication of overheating.
  4. I installed the Husky liners and wished I'd purchased the stockers because the Husky liners required lots of mods. After reading this thread, it looks like even the stockers can be a pain to install. I did pull the wheels on my Husky install because the increased access made things easier. No matter which one you choose, liners really help the look of a white truck.
  5. Hello Everyone, I have a newly powder coated gloss black set of stock exhaust tips. They are perfect and include all stock hardware. Price shipped to your USA location is $150. Message me for info and photos.SOLDSOLDSOLD
  6. Very nice job. I tried a lace on cover several years ago and screwed it up royally so went with the factory wheel. Yours looks as good as factory.
  7. Yes, the air bag must be removed. There are plenty of videos that show how that is done. Just be sure and disconnect the battery before removal. After the air bag is removed you'll see the Torx bolt.
  8. I purchased the Amazon variety and they fit perfectly.
  9. I've had Katzins dealer installed on two Chevrolet trucks, and a Buick wagon. I've also had plenty of GM vehicles with factory leather. In my experience, Katzkins is better looking and more wear resistant. I highly recommend it.
  10. My first mod was LED headlight bulbs from Amazon. Made a marked difference is night driving.
  11. Here is a shot of the quad tips on my 2020 Custom. They were installed by the master himself, Kirk Robinson of Kinney Muffler in Ft Worth, TX. I had the tips installed on my stock system because I wanted the truck quiet for road trips. Since the stock exhaust involved a Y pipe, it was quite a chore to get each side perfectly balanced, but Kirk did an amazing job. With the tips, the truck sounds just a little more throaty on start up because of the megaphone effect, but it is still quiet at cruise. For those who asked, the stainless steel tips are custom made for Kirk and come in a nicely polished or black finish. https://kinneysmufflershop.com/kinneysmufflershop.com/HOME.html I promised the "war department" otherwise known as my lovely wife, that the tips would be the last mod. So far, the truck has the following changes: Katzkins leather heated seats, LT leather steering wheel, Pro Clip phone holder, black Bow Ties, 327 hood emblems, Husky rear fender liners, front camera, LED headlights and a quad exhaust.
  12. I had the front wheels off of my 2020 Silverado Custom with the 5.3 and got a good look at the front brakes. The discs are massive and the calipers are the fixed four piston design rather than sliders. I've had plenty of big time Wilwood and Bahr brakes on my rods and customs. These stock GM brakes compare very favorably. I suggest caliper covers or paint if your want to dude your brakes up.
  13. I'm 20 minutes away from Kinney and a frequent flier because Kirk Robinson has touched virtually all my rods and customs. His great exhaust work gets drive in customers from all over the country.
  14. That's a nice look. Kinney Muffler in the DFW area does great work and I've already emailed them a photo.
  15. Here is one alternative that has worked out well on my 2020 Silverado Custom.
  16. Does my 2020 Silverado 5.3 Six Speed have DFM? If it does, I've been unable to detect it during driving. I've tried to research the question and come up with conflicting answers. Some say all 5.3 engines have DFM and a few say some of them don't. I figure someone on this Forum will know for sure. Thank You
  17. Automobile makers have historically rounded up a cubic inch or two when publicizing displacement so there's nothing wrong with a slight "fudge."?
  18. After researching the addition of radio controls on the steering wheel, I've concluded it can't be done without a huge hassle and expense. As an alternative, I swapped in the leather steering wheel and used the blank on the right side of the stock wheel that came on my 2020 Silverado Custom. I have Katzkin leather seats so I wanted a leather wheel to match so at least I have a nice steering wheel instead of the cheezy plastic stock version that came on on the Custom trucks. The cruise control buttons on the new wheel work fine.
  19. Since 5.3 liters is just a couple of cubic inches short of 327 I decided to purchase some 327 emblems from Morris Designs and attach them to the bulge on the hood of my 2020 Silverado Custom. As most Bowtie fans know, the 327 cubic inch V-8 has been historically important since the 1960's so I decided the 327 emblems would look nice on my truck. The emblems are adhesive backed and nicely polished stainless steel so they blend well with the stock Custom emblems on the truck and bring back a little Chevrolet history.
  20. The issue with the Husky liners depends how fussy you are with the fit. In my case, I wanted to make sure all the screw holes aligned perfectly and the bottoms of the liners tucked in behind the stock factory splash deflectors. As a consequence, I had to shorten the Husky liners and test fit them several times before I achieved a factory like fit. If I had it to do over, I'd get the factory liners rather than anything after market.
