I have 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 LT and i am having problems with this truck shutting off while driving. I though maybe I had a bad alternator and/or battery but I replaced my battery 3 years ago and the charging systems tests out okay. A few months back, I had to jump start my truck, I had a local shop check it out and everything is fine, I figured I left a light on or something in that nature. Another month goes by, had my wife and son with me, and turning into a Sonic, my truck literally shuts off while still in drive. I lost power steering, lights, dash, as if my battery got disconnected. A few minutes later, the truck starts up, no check engine light, everything works as if nothing ever happened. It has now done this several times, most recently, I am driving down the road, and the only way I made it home, was because I had to turn off my air vents, radio, and went easy on the gas peddle. The GM dealership had my truck for about 8 to 10 days and could not find anything wrong with it, so I went there this past Saturday 01/13/2024 to pick it up. Just my luck, I paid my bill and got my keys, got out to my truck, and it would not start and the check engine light is on. So long story short, they still have it. Has anyone out there had this issue? This first happened in 2020, but there was a long gap between my truck acting up and now it has 140,000 miles on it. I have no complaints about the service reps and technicians at the dealership, they have been great to work with, but now it's time to figure this out because this is a safety issue. If I choose to continue driving this truck, knowingly that there is an issue, but the dealership approves this truck that it is good to go and there is nothing wrong with it, who's liable if there is a bad accident? Myself, the GM dealership, or General Motors? I have a case numbers started with GM, but I don't know if that's going to get me anywhere.
