Truthfully, I have carbon fiber accents all over the dash, and wanted to keep the synthesis pieces as a nice offset to the carbon/black. I thought about it. Here’s what I’ve done in carbon fiber: lower radio plate (the whole thing, it covers the black entirely) driver and passenger air vents (tufskinz, because they don’t cover the synthesis chrome plating) glove box handles door handle bowls window switch panels roof console dome light parking brake trim obviously the steering wheel lol It doesn’t help that I had to mask the silver off on my steering wheel faceplate and paint the black (was very dark atmosphere). GM had a packaging mishap where I tried to order 84649074 and kept getting 84649076…so I spent $10 instead on a can of Krylon Fusion Matte Black paint and fixed it myself. I had a spare steering wheel lying around with the synthesis plate in front and buttons I took out for my cluster swap.

Hello all, so I’ve searched everywhere for something about this. My friends own a paint booth and offered me one heck of a deal to cut my bumper (for dual exhaust), and sand/repaint the whole thing. Gloss black, paint code WA8555. Just like factory. They’ll do it for less than the cost of a primed bumper with the cutouts. I will NOT be using factory exhaust tips. I’m looking at a set of dual tips (2.5”inlet/dual 3.5”outlet) that are black powder coated stainless. I’ll be having a custom exhaust system put in around January/February. On the flipside, I could cut the ports out myself. The frame underneath has the notches for the factory dual exhaust tips. If I had some measurements for the front side, I could lay the bumper on sawhorses and get it just right. I’m sure that, with a little time and effort, I could do it. The alternative is, to mark it from the backside, and cut it from underneath…which also could be done after removing the frame from the backside. After cutting, I’d take it to the paint guys and have them clean it up and repaint it. What do y’all think?

Quad Exhaust Tips

I found some black ones, too. They have dual 3” and 3.5” tips. I’ll be getting the black 3.5’s when I order my muffler. I’ll be having a paint shop cut the factory holes out of the bumper and repainting it black. Edit: I cut and painted my own bumper, and the exhaust will be on in 2 weeks. I’ll update with a photo. -
Proper way to level AT4?

I love my Bilstein 5100s. -
I thought about it, but I’m not good with electronics….and the only one I could find that was a bolt-on application was $1,700 more than the one I bought. This one was $500. Besides, in an automatic without paddle shifters, why would I need the shift light, am I right? They DID ask me if mine was heated; however, I don’t know how to retrofit the heated wheel, if possible. Phil Gamboa might have the answer, but the way mine is set up, I don’t see the need. I’m sure I could have added all the bells and whistles, but this one fits my needs and wants just right. It’s very ergonomic. My brother, who owns a 2018 challenger 392, says his steering wheel is shaped identically to this one. He approves! Lol

Ok, so I have to sing the praises about my new steering wheel. I will also include praises to the seller. So, this steering wheel was a bit pricey, but, well worth the money spent for the comfort it provides, and absolutely sharp as a tack in my truck. It’s also a bit beefier than the original wheel. It’s handmade with real carbon fiber, perforated leather, and the stitching matches my seat covers (black leather with red stitching and red piping). With the carbon fiber accents on the dash (and soon to be center console), this is the centerpiece I’ve been waiting for. Also, a nice touch, it’s not cocked to the side a bit like the factory wheels when you change them over to leather or change them in general. It lines right up with my column like the old one. Now, on to the seller, by the name of JiangGai on eBay. These guys (or gals) are in China. DON’T STOP READING, DON’T LET THAT FOOL YOU. This steering wheel is crafted better than the factory wheels, in my honest opinion. Their customer service was absolutely amazing. I’ve never had such fast responses, and every time I had a request (due to my order mishap), they were more than happy to accommodate me. I never got one rude message or complaint from them when I had several things to ask. They were more than happy to update me every time I asked about status, and they confirmed the product before shipping so there were no mistakes. Absolutely perfect experience. One last thing. They listed the shipper as SpeedPAK standard. Wrong. It shipped via FedEx International Priority, and flew from Dongguan, Guanggong, China on Thursday night, and arrived on my doorstep in Virginia, today (Monday). Unbelievably fast. I was impressed. USPS and UPS should take notes.

About that write up, you CAN use this link to swap the dash. It’s what I did. Make sure you have help, the instrument panel is awkward with the airbag on the right side weighing it down. The passenger airbag is a pain in the butt to swap. It took 45 minutes, 6 screwdrivers, 2 sets of hands, and a whole dictionary of cuss words.

ok guys, so the biggest difference is that the soft touch instrument panel is actually padded and kinda cushy. You’ll need the defroster vent because one of the dowel pin/retainer clip combos is mirrored on the bottom from the standard plastic panel. The tray is different too, but the liners are all the same. The stitching on everything else is the same. They’re all “with leather, soft touch”. BE AWARE….shipping is about $200 for the instrument panel alone when you order from GM…..in addition, the guy said he could only source 4 new ones in the whole country as of 3 weeks ago. Just keep that in mind. I’d submit more photos if this website didn’t screw me on space limit. For some reason, the size of some of these photos is absurd. I’ll take more photos as I finish the carbon fiber, too. Got a custom leather and carbon, flat bottom steering wheel shipping to me tomorrow morning.

So, about a month ago, I contacted GMPartsDirect.com and ordered P/N 84649074 (Steering wheel spoke Applique, synthesis, black), and, after 3 weeks, they sent me 84649076, in the box with the part number I ordered. Thinking they made a mistake, I sent that one back for a refund, and tried another dealer, in Dallas. Lo and behold, it happened again! 84649076, in the box that was labeled 84649074. I called this dealer, and they seem to think there was a bad batch or a mixup in packaging from a group of parts. Exhausting my usual connections, I thought I would make a last effort and come here, to see if anyone had this part and was willing to part with it. No pun intended. Please help.

That looks awesome! I went with the red bed cap letters, and they’re clearly still visible with my bed cover (it sits like the old checkmate covers, and is low profile), but your badges remind me of the ‘21 I had (and lost because the payment was too high and I had a baby on the way). I’m so glad you got what you wanted. Cheers!

So, I did this a few days ago, but thought I’d post here while I had time. I’m not finished yet. I did the high country soft touch dash with all the leather and synthesis upgrades. GM screwed me on part number 84649074, but that’ll be here Tuesday (Monday is Labor Day); and once I get my new custom steering wheel, I’ll put it all together. Yes, I even did the soft touch dash top ($285 plus free shipping on eBay), and it’s in perfect condition. The only blemish is on the upper compartment box, also leather. If necessary, I can do a write up with step by step instructions. In addition, I have ordered a carbon fiber/perforated leather, custom, flat-bottom steering wheel to tie the carbon accents I’ve started adding, the black seat covers with red stitching, and the leather dashboard together. Once my old parts sell (they’re in mint condition!), I’ll be adding the center jump seat with top and bottom storage (with lock), and I have carbon fiber plates for the top of that, too. Steering wheel is estimated to ship from overseas on Tuesday. I will be posting completed photos of the interior once I finish assembly sometime in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned. I have attached photos of some parts as a sneak peak….some parts are still in the works. Part Numbers: 84431726 - Instrument Panel, Soft Touch, Without Pre-Crash, Without HUD, Black 84791926 - Instrument Panel Extension (Defroster Vent), Without Pre-Crash, Without HUD, Black 84054788 - Cluster Visor, Soft Touch, Without Pre-Crash, Without HUD, Black 84420199 - Trim Pad (Passenger Side), Soft Touch, With Leather, Black 87858534 - Upper Compartment Box, Soft Touch, With Leather, Black 23387904 - Synthesis Plate 84266580 - Trim Pad (Driver Side), Soft Touch, With Leather, Black 84649074 - Synthesis Steering Wheel Trim Spoke Cover Applique, Black 84469329 - Interior Trim Kit, Silver for Double Cab

Post your T1 wheel/tire setup

I see what you mean. Seems as though y’all have the same issue with the AAM/GM differences that I had with the front. Hard to tell what comes from where. -
Thanks for the info! I appreciate that. The first thermal bypass valve went bad because it was plugged from TCC shards. The second was a manufacturer fault. At one point, just before the second thermostat change, the trans was reading a temp of 252°. Not pulling or hauling anything. Empty bed. I was frantic.

Redline 6.2 badge is available too! I had a 21 6.2 LT trail boss decked out just like my custom. Even had the redline 6.2 badge on the hood.

EmblemsPlus has them for the “Next Gen” 19+ that are GM official Licensed products.
