  1. Finally got the HUD switch in today. Verified these connectors from Mouser work.
  2. Sweet. My switch should be here Friday. I'll verify if the unwired connector I got from Mouser fits. Then I can wire it with the correct color wires. Anybody know where I can find the cloth-type electrical tape GM uses now in their wiring harnesses? Nice! Glad to know the other end of the USB fits. BTW, it's morning. Where are the installed pics? LOL Hopefully my cluster will show up today from Chris and I'll have time this weekend to do the install. I'll document everything, although it will be on a Yukon. At least you can verify the wiring. I'll be sending my BCM to him for OEM HID programming later next week.
  3. Also got the HUD cluster visor in. Looks like the HUD unit attaches to the dash instead of the visor. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Parts guy called. He got the Denali piece in. It's color isn't that far off. Also discovered the Denali (burnished) and my original (axiom) piece have real aluminum overlaid on them vs. the painted "synthesis" color the LTZ uses. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Stopped by the dealer today to pick up the HUD switch trim piece I ordered. My Yukon has the "Axiom" color for the silver interior trim pieces (looks to be the same on Tahoes without HUD). I had him order the "Synthesis" color from the Tahoe with HUD. It appeared it would match based on all the photos I looked at. GM doesn't offer the Axiom color with the HUD switch opening. Unfortunately, it is a different shade and enough that it would bother me. I would have to change out the trim on my steering wheel, radio bezel and passenger vent for it to match. I'd rather have the "Burnished" color used in the Denali and swap the other trim parts out. I could then add the same color pieces around the charging pad on the center console and interior door handles that only come on the Denali. Luckily, my parts guy will swap it out for me. In the meantime, at least you guys can benefit from some pics. The assembly is made up of four parts. Two vent duct pieces that can come off, the internal frame and the silver trim that is fused to it. The clips for the HUD switch are molded into the silver trim piece.
  6. Ordered from the dealer. The silver trim and black vent area come out as a unit. You can see the opening in the plastic framework for the HUD switch.
  7. 10-4. Already have it on order. There's different shades of the brushed aluminum part of the trim. We'll see if it matches. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. That's correct. I should of have clarified. I have a Yukon SLT. If I remember, I'll grab some of the truck next time I'm there.
  9. Oh, and the correct USB cable came in. Fits perfect in the HUD. I'll verify the cluster connection side when I get it back from Chris this week.
  10. Here's some exploded views of a Yukon Denali dash I got from my parts guy at the dealer. Attempted to order the cluster visor with the HUD cutout in cocoa from GMPD, but was told they were on backorder with no ETA from GM. My parts guy found four at different dealers. Got one ordered. Should be here in a few days. I also discovered there are different part numbers for the core dash support with and without HUD. I'm guessing one has mounting tabs welded on. Hopefully fitting in the dash won't be an issue, just securing it.
  11. I ordered one of each. We shall see.
  12. Then again, may be not. Look at the keying on the one I know fits. Looking at the data sheet via the link to mouser, keying option D is the closest, but maybe not identical. ...but maybe...
  13. Definitely helps, thanks. Those are the ones I ordered. The male terminals appear to be integral to the HUD unit and switch. Did you ever find the manufacturer p/n for the HUD connector? I think I may have - https://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=1456987-5virtualkey57100000virtualkey571-1456987-5 The keyway looks right. It shows where the p/n should be on the connector, so I'll have to look at the service assembly I got from ACD to see if it's there.
  14. I'm confident I've got the correct switch connector terminal ordered. I believe the HUD connector takes the same. @pgamboa, can you confirm?
  15. I'll order some tomorrow and report back. Let me know when you hear back from Mouser. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Wonder if the terminal would be too large for the space in the connector due to it accommodating a larger wire? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Yes, that's the one. Problem is, I only need one terminal. It goes in position 21 on the connector. It's the data bus wire that goes to the HUD connector. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. pgamboa has been a great help. I think that's everything...USB cable b/t the cluster and HUD, HUD connector and switch connector. I'm working on the terminals now. Found the ones for the switch and HUD connector, but can't find the one (based on the service p/n in the upfitter manual) that goes in location 21 on the cluster connector (Mouser doesn't have any in stock). I should have the USB cable Tuesday. I'll make sure it fits the HUD (my cluster made it to Chris to program today) and post pics. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Pics or it didn't happen lol Care to share the website you speak of?
  20. Thought I'd already posted this... Found the wiring connector for the HUD. ...and got the color coded wire in. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. My cluster will ship out to Chris tomorrow. Can't wait to get it back. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Do I smell a one stop shop, lol? I guess it would depend on what that would take time wise, inventory levels needed and the cost of maintaining that overhead vs. what you have now.
  23. I'm wondering where he sources them from. Quite a few are marked as "new".
  24. That's what so disappointing about it. Just because one person may not have the knowledge to do something doesn't mean someone else cannot. Seems like a poor business attitude. That's why I'm glad for guys like GTPprix. He has the patience to hear the same questions and their variants at nauseam and still give explanations.
  25. I've had similar experiences with him (the same eBay seller) in the past. Seems to come up short on the personality/customer service side. I got a "sorry, no" when I asked about doing one of the knew Denali clusters in my 2015 Yukon. He's good at what he knows, but won't entertain or help you understand why something "outside the box" for him wouldn't work. Years ago, I was able to convince him to add a trans temp gauge, Denali bezel and needles to a 140mph police cluster for my 2007 classic Sierra.
