  1. Ok so back in the summer when we were having near 100 degree days. I'd leave work in the afternoon and my infotainment screen/system would be locked up. It would not respond to button pushes or anything. Even tried the reset procedure. However after about 5-10 minutes driving it would work like normal. I posted on here and nobody had seen this before. Fast forward to the last 2 mornings 26 and 36 degrees out. Same issue. The screen would not respond to touch and no music would play until about 5-10 minutes into my drive. Again has anyone had this kind of issue before? I've had the recall done but the hot issue was before that.
  2. It's 2 different volume settings. One for spoken word and one for your music. I set my spoken word and have not touched it since. The volume stays the same no matter if I turn the music volume up or down.
  3. As stated above. Turn the volume down while the notification is happening. I recently had the recall programming done to my 24. After that I could not hear Siri unless I was stopped with the engine off. Apparently there are different volumes for the radio (music) and spoken word (Siri/ nav directions). I have not found a setting in the infotainment controls for these 2 different volumes but, if you catch it while Siri is talking and turn it up. It will adjust. It also says something like spoken word volume.
  4. I think I've read somewhere before that the recirc feature doesn't seal off all of the air from the outside. In other words it still draws in a little fresh air. I don't think a better filter is going to help much.
  5. The road I drive on every day to work has a speed limit of 45. The "sign" on the dash screen says 65 then 45 then 65 all in a span of 4 miles. I've never really paid attention to that reading any way and just go by the posted sign on the side of the road.
  6. I'd take it back to the dealer as fast as you can! Those issues are classic 8 speed transmission problems.
  7. The electronics were updated to a different system in the refresh trucks. Global A to Global B or something like that. For them to function I'd say you'd have to have it programmed in the computer. Unfortunately that is something the dealer can't do.
  8. Got my recall done this morning. They told me it could take a while when I signed in. I got there at 730 and was leaving at 845 that included an oil change as well. The only difference I saw was my mirror tilt in reverse was turned off in the settings menu.
  9. I was on a different forum the other day. There was a post of a guy with a refresh AT4. He said the top part of the grill on his truck came off going down the road and it was totally gone. The only thing left were the plastic pieces that attach it to the grille about 10 of them. I said there had to be some hidden damage there that caused this. 2 guys posted that this is a common problem and one guy said they replace 2-3 of these a month. I've not seen any other posts with this issue so I thought I'd ask here. The picture shows the piece that was broken off.
  10. "Not sure why GM didn't add one of those pull cables like Jeep and other vehicles have." It's an option they are going to charge for in the next gen trucks!
  11. I want to say all of those lights are plugged into a central box behind the bumper under the rear of the truck. I'd see if all of the wires are securely plugged into that and also check that it doesn't have water in it.
  12. There are a few class action law suites already against GM for the 8 speed transmission issues. I don't think any have gotten resolved so I wouldn't hold your breath or wait for that outcome.
  13. Yes just about everyone that owns a 19+ GM truck. People have been asking the same question since these trucks came out! It's the way it was designed unfortunately. Some believe it is that way so the condensate doesn't pool up under the truck when parked.
  14. Looks like the boot got cut in that spot or there was a thin spot there and it broke open.
  15. I've posted this same answer in another forum with the same question. It's really luck of the draw and maintenance. I've had a 10,14,16,20, and now a 24. No issues out of any of them! All of them either had DFM or AFM and were not disabled in any way.
  16. My 20 did this for a few months. I could shake everything I could touch on the seat and nothing would move. Either I got used to it or it corrected itself and was fine when I traded it in .
  17. I would doubt they would give a "substantial" discount only because they KNOW you really want the truck you are ordering. Why give a discount on something the customer really wants? As long as it's not an off the wall order they will just sell it to the next guy that comes in. If you don't buy it when it shows up.
  18. I would think a small lead cover like what they use at the dentist office for X rays or a metal plate of some sort. Put it over the Onstar antenna to block the signal. Onstar has a tough time getting a signal in a parking garage so I doubt it would take much. Plus if you don't have an active Onstar account they can't do anything for you in terms of tracking the vehicle.
  19. No pride or honesty left in the dealership world it seems! It's not just the dealership world!!
  20. The condensation water drips on the exhaust when it drains. This may be why it is warm instead of cool like you are thinking it should be. As stated above condensation is the moisture from the air being taken away so if it's been raining or you live near the coast it should be working pretty hard to remove that moisture.
  21. Yes I went from a 15 6 speed to a 20 10 speed. Same roads same driving habits. My MPG actually stayed the same. Now that I have a 24 the MPG is even less I've barley gotten into the 16 MPG range. This is all relying on the trucks readout and no hand calculation though.
  22. Unfortunately there is no real way to answer that. I've had a 14,16,20 and now a 24. The 14,16, and 20 all had recalls that effects just about every owner. The 20 had the leaking rear window that was replaced. The 24 has an issue where the infotainment screen is acting up on really hot days. That is all I can attribute it to anyway. Other than those issues all of my trucks have been great.
  23. Hello All, My 24 infotainment screen was flickering, not responding to touch, and cutting out when the heat was 100 degrees here in the ATL area. Has this happened to anyone else? It was fine in the morning and when I would leave in the afternoon it would do this for about 10 minutes of driving. Now that the days are back around 85ish it's fine as well. I do use a window shade to.
  24. Where the headliner stops and meets the window. Look along that and see if the plastic window frame has a crack. Another thing it could be is the bolts that hold the spoiler on did not seal well when they were tightened. Here is the crack my 20 had when they took the window out for replacement.
  25. I don't see why it wouldn't work. It's practically the same grille. They didn't change the form/shape of them for the Denali.
