  1. I'd just try some small sheet metal screws from the hardware store. If you don't want to buy the actual kit.
  2. You shouldn't have to. I don't have it but, I don't really check for updates. The updates are usually automatic download.
  3. I've never looked at the camera when my truck does that. I usually run the defrost a few minutes and it's back working as it should.
  4. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/forum/186-2014-2018-silverado-sierra-troubleshooting/
  5. Previous gen trucks had a spot for a second battery. I forget what year but they moved the battery from the right front behind the grille to the left rear by the radio antenna. Supposedly this was so the battery was protected during a front end collision so it could still provide power to Onstar. The old battery spot was left empty and you could add a 2nd one there if you wired it up. When these trucks were redesigned in 19. They braced it differently in the front so it did away with the old battery spot.
  6. I doubt that GM will let a dealer retrofit anything like that. If it didn't have it to begin with. You might can find an aftermarket programmer that can do it but, then your looking at the cost versus convenience.
  7. Only a 2 piston brake caliper on these trucks. GM made the outside of the caliper thicker in this area (red) and added a ridge (orange) that the older wheels will rub on if no spacer is used.
  8. I was never in favor of the console shifter but, you had guys complaining that they would never buy a GM until it had one.
  9. Apparently the new 3500HD only have a column shifter. Because people were complaining it took up too much space with the console shifter. You'd probably have to replace the steering column and the console though. That's probably kinda pricey. At least Ford has the option for the shifter to fold down into the console out of the way.
  10. If it's not that far out of warranty I'd call the dealer and see. They may fix it if not too long. My 20 started leaking back in 21 I had the GM fix done and it leaked the day I drove it home. The dealer replaced the window with a new one installed by a glass company. I've been good ever since.
  11. People were complaining of the 19s ride (no matter the trim) when they were new. Supposedly GM changed the springs in the 20s to help with that.
  12. It's like the old Iradium color. The 2 Sierras I had looked black in some lights and brown in others.
  13. Try carmax in your area and see what they offer for your truck. We took them my wifes old traverse when we got her new one last year. I looked at the offer online and printed the offer number. We were only at the dealer about and hour and were driving off with a check to get her new one. Easiest I've ever sold or traded a car.
  14. From all of the posts I've seen about it. Yes that is normal unfortunately.
  15. It seems they are putting that in the highest trim packages now. My wife bought a 21 Acadia Denali. I figured it had the Adaptive Cruise as well since my 20 Sierra SLT does. When we took our 1st trip out of town I went to use it and got nothing. I looked up the features on her car and you had to buy the Denali Ultimate package to get that. Yes it has the gap settings and the HUD but no AC. I told her they could have kept the HUD. LOL
  16. The "fix" he found may not help you. Since he has the jump seat console storage and you with an SLT (like me) have the full console. His looks like it was it was stuck locked so you can't open the lid while the console is in the up (seat back) position.
  17. I've seen a paper like that before. I was looking at a truck and was told what the numbers on it means. I got the info from the only salesmen I've ever trusted. He actually talked me out of buying a truck before.
  18. If you are trying to control what plant it comes from I doubt it can be done. It's luck of the draw. The crew cab is the most in demand truck. I mean when they 1st started production of these in 19 most all crews came from Mexico. That has changed now though.
  19. According to his post above he's using the Pulsar LT to raise the limiter.
  20. It sounds like the camera as adaptive cruise and the gap uses that to work. Is there a check engine light on? Maybe try unhooking the battery for about 10 minutes and see if that resets it.
  21. My understanding was that ANC was only on the 6.2 liter engine trucks since it's a little louder than a 5.3. The mic above the drivers head is for the hands free calling or it's a sensor for the auto temp controls in previous years.
  22. out of the 3 years I've had my 20 Sierra. I'd say I've had to put the PW in 4 times. It seems to do it after the radio updates.
  23. Yes it wants your Onstar password. No I don't subscribe to Onstar anymore but, once I put my password in that warning goes away everytime.
  24. That picture you posted is the geo jigsaw pattern. I believe that's in the Denali and High Country trim trucks.
  25. Must be something they changed. My 20 1500 has autodim and no tow mirrors.
