    I finally completed my 6112 & 5160 upgrade and I am pretty blown away with how much it changed the dynamics of the truck. The OEM Ranchos felt like they were all spring and no shock and were just very bouncy in general. The 6112’s added needed composure over highway and off-road.

    I completed my center console swap and posted it on YouTube.     The 2020 GMC Harley Davidson Edition was unveiled here in Scottsdale so I shot over there to take a look. Blake from Tuscany Motors was nice enough to do a walk around and explain some of the features for my video. Pretty awesome. Price is staggering but it is a cool truck.

    I do not have any experience with the 5100’s. I just figured if I was going to pull the trigger that I may as well go for it with the 5160’s. I was also battling the mysterious “Chevy Shake” and figured I had to step it up and I don’t regret it. Funny though, my 2 year old daughter loves when I put her in the bed of the truck and I jump on the bumper, that isn’t fun anymore because the truck doesn’t rock around like a fun carnaval ride for her.

    I just installed the 5160’s on my Sierra Z71 and I LOVE them.

    I just put Bilstein 5160’s on the truck and after about 100 miles it SEEMS to have helped the vibration. I can still feel a little bit here and there but it is MUCH better. I will keep you all posted if that changes in the future.

    Well, GM has offered me a cash & keep deal.... I guess MY fight is over. Probably going to keep it for a bit and wait to see how the 2019 Ram does after a few months on the road and how the reviews come in.

    I started ThisTruckSucks.com dedicated to this problem. I’m in the middle of a lemon law claim. GM likes to say it “Meets Spec”. I think my next video is test driving Ford, Dodge, and Toyota to show how much better competition specs are. This is NOT normal and I intend on demonstrating that.

    Alright guys, I am not trying to spam everyone here but I am so pissed off with this problem and seeing the 11,000+ posts on this page.     So its official. GM told me this vibration is within spec. They also told me that I wasnt allowed to share that information on YouTube. I dont know what part of this is more infuriating but I dont see how or why they would want to silence me if they were right and I had no arguement.

    Definitely. I wasn’t trying to be defensive or combative but I think I was. Sorry. Just a bit high strung and passionate about this whole situation. And now back to the forum...

    Well then by that definition this entire forum would be slanderous. I would also make the argument that if GM is telling folks that this vibration is “within spec” then I would merely be reporting factual information confirmed by GM. If the perception of that statement by the general public were negative, they couldn’t hold me responsible for that. I have not lied about anything in my YouTube Series nor do I intend to. Please let me know if you disagree with any of my editing or production and I will issue a retraction if necessary. This is not a campaign as I am not pushing for one specific outcome. If they fixed the vibration I would report that and my series. There are a bunch of outcomes to this story, if they decide to take legal action to silence me I would like to think that would send a terrible message to future customers about how they handle customer relationsions. Again let me know if you think I’m being unfair in any of my videos:

    No threats (although I was assuming one was coming). I just decided the project deserves a little more planning. I don’t think GoFundMe was the best route. I want to do it right and I didn’t want to start it off half cocked. I would hate to raise money then find out I had problems with the ATF and couldn’t deliver what I promised. Again, if the project moves forward I just want to be sure I am 100% legit and can deliver what I promise.

    Slanderous would imply that I am making false claims. I am not making any false claims or defamatory statements. I am simply stating facts and raising awareness for a problem that people are experiencing which seems to be largely ignored. It is really no different than fling a better business bureau claim, this is just a different approach.

    After 4 days in the shop the service writer told me they road force balanced again with a new machine they got from hunter. This must be the new machine they previously told me they had to purchase to remain in spec with GM requirements. Anyhow, he told me the Hunter guy used my truck for training and they re balanced all 4 tires. He told me my truck was all fixed. I made it 4 miles down the highway before it started vibrating again. I should be hearing from GM corporate today, I also sent them my video. We shall see what they say.

    158 miles after I left the shop and the vibration is baaaaack!!! The recent repairs have been: 1.) Rotate Tires. 2.) Tell me its fixed and call me a liar who should have balanced his tires. 3.) Waste my time and have me come in for a road test with a mechanic where it still vibrated and I told them to continue diagnostic. 4.) Dealer runs Pico Scope, gets no vibration (even after witnessing it while driving with me). 5.) Calls me in to take me for a test drive to show me its fixed. I asked what they had done to it since the last test drive where they tell me "nothing" and send me off with my truck. 6.) 158 miles later and I am getting the vibration again.

    150 miles after the Pick Scope Drive with the tech and my vibration is back. Surprised they didnt take me up on my $100 bet that I would be back within 2,000 miles? I didn’t even make it 200 miles. Episode #5 is the works.

    So my YouTube series about this problem is wrapped up for now. They balanced the tires (again) and after one test drive it still had some vibration so I had asked that they run the Pico Scope. Two days later with no additional repairs being made, we did a test drive with the Pick Scope and the vibration magically was gone. So I have my truck back now but I am sure it will start vibrating again. I will pick up the YouTube series when it comes back. Its only a matter of time. You can watch the 4 episodes here:

    I’ve been living with this vibration for 30,000 miles and I’m done with it. I’ve started a YouTube series following my journey through the process.
